Would recommend to anyone wanting up scale digs in DC. DO NOT get a room near the ice maker. Concierge was very helpful!

This hotel was awesome. The staff was always going above and beyond to make the stay great. If you asked for something you received it. I had a package shipped and it was brought to my room within minutes of the actual delivery. The space was clean and housekeeping did an excellent job everyday. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed 4 days at this luxurious hotel during the Convention with a mixed feeling. Service was just OK. Requested a hot water (there‚??s no coffeemaker in room), waiting for almost an hour. Asked for a hotel receipt when checked out, getting a strange look: ‚??you should have got it on internet‚??. Called taxi by ourselves, no one helping us to load our luggage, was it too early in the morning? Just a few blocks from the whitehouse and very close to all other DC attractions and a bevy of restaurants. Very clean, nice sized rooms, friendly staff and reasonably priced. My only issue is the in room frig. Move anything in the fridge and you are charged. I just want to put my own stuff in there but can't. Very comfortable beds, pillows. Ample closet space, free wifi and other amenities. The fitness center is negligible, if you like to run, it's a 5k to Arlington. Plenty of space to ... Read more

I had a really terrible experience in the hotel. I stayed on there on a Thursday May 26th, and had to be up and out of the hotel at 9:30AM Friday. I got up to the shower not working at all. There wasn't even hot water available in the sink either and the water barely ran out of there. Called down to let the hotel know and ask if there was anything they could do as I had to leave soon. 20 minutes passes with no call back, so I had to call back down to find out that engineering had told them t... Stayed 3 nights and we were happy over all with the hotel. Close to Whitehouse and tourist sights, with metro stop quite handy. Negatives are no coffee in room and not many places to eat in walking distance, you need a taxi or metro in order to get to where locals eat out

We stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely hotel. It was very luxurious and had a very grand feel to it. We did not feel posh enough to stay there! The room was large and comfortable. My only complaint was that the hotel air conditioning unit was right outside our room and it constantly made noise. We had ear plugs with us luckily so it didn't disturb us but I would've liked to have been warned about it upon check in. the location is great for roaming around DC and not far from the metro. From the minute I entered, the staff at this hotel was welcoming and competent. My room was spacious, and quiet as I requested a top floor, a request they were able to accomodate. There were ample outlets both on the desk and the night stand, and the room was comfortable to work in. The hotel has a luxury feel as there were ample oversized pillows and the sheets were soft. The bed was extremely comfortable. The staff was friendly enough but not over-the-top. We were there for business meetings and the meeting rooms were difficult to regulate the temperature. Hotel is located within walking distance of major tourist sights and shopping. Hotel is close to the Ronald Regan airport, and will cost you about $20 - $25 depending on the traffic. Decent restaurant "Lincoln" located just behind the hotel.

Look, this is a lovely hotel, BUT it has no working AC. Still. I have stayed here at least eight times and each time, I wake in the middle of the night sweating. Here's a hint: Ask for a oscillating fan and put it next to what they call the AC unit. As the AC unit dribbles out tiny bits of air, the fan will help distribute it and then, maybe, you'll be able to spell well. The front staff is great, but if you can't get a good night's sleep, the hotel fails in its responsibility.

I've stayed in a lot of Loews hotels throughout the US. So far, this has been the most average one and average experience for me. The room itself was nice, the decor was classic and I actually felt like I was in DC being in the room. The front desk staff were nice. Innocence, the concierge agent was very nice and helpful. Pretty decorations but very old. The hallways have a weird smell. Our view was the back of a building so that took away from the hotel experience a bit. This is not a cheap hotel so expect for them to have a decent view at least of the street. Again, very old so I guess they have to work with the 50+ year old architecture.

We stayed in a king deluxe suite on the 15th floor. Great, well-appointed, spacious room with a balcony. My big issue with this hotel is the service. We repeatedly asked to have our mini bar and room coffee restocked both via the front desk, housekeeping and the service line--and it was like talking to a wall. There were plenty of "yes, we'll take care of it's" but never of the course of a three night stay did they come through.

I would give this hotel a higher rating had it been closer to the action. Our biggest issue with this hotel was the 15 minute walk to the metro (closest station is Mcpherson Square) and 20- 25 minute walk to the closest attraction which is the White House. Many people say the hotel is in a great central location but this is relative. If you live in a city where you are used to walking maybe you consider 15 minutes walk to the closest subway close. My husband had a few job interviews in D.C. and we needed a place downtown to stay in easy distance of a few Federal office buildings. It was conveniently located near the Farragut North Metro station (Red Line), which allowed me to stay busy looking for a new home while he was off doing business. We had a lot of fun staying at the Loews Madison. The bar was busy late into the night with what appeared to be professionals coming in for a drink after work. This is an excellent hotel. My daughter and I recently spent five nights there. It is walking distance to the White House and sites. Cabs are always available at the door. Check in person ensured our rooms were ready as we got there early. The concierge "Innocent" was quite helpful. Restaurant breakfast is reasonable and good. Free bottled water would be nice in the hot weather although they had cool water from a fountain like container. Avoid the big bus tour company as it is a rip off!!!

Don't get me wrong, there are a number of elegant hotels in Washington DC, but for the price range- this one is terrific. Everything about this hotel is classy from the rooms, to the hallways and lobby itself. My room is particular was small, with a tiny bathroom- but again the stylish decoration made up for it. Room service was prompt and delicious. The location of this hotel is perfect for getting around the city. Overall I had a very positive experience at this Lowes property and would stay a... Read more

Loews is a modern and upscale hotel with a boutique feel in the downtown area. After spending hours discovering the city (mostly touristy haunts) in the day, the very comfortable and clean room was fantastic. There were a few bars in the area including the one on the main floor that served up cocktails, but unfortunately like most things in DC, they close up shop fairly early. There are several high-end restaurants also in the area, but we stuck to local eateries that were a few minutes walk fro... Read more

This is a nice hotel in a good location. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. We, unfortunately, weren't really able to enjoy the lovely outdoor space because it was 105 degrees outside (though there was a yoga class being taught on the lawn!). There are two areas to eat and they were both very nice. Most of the staff were great. The only exception being the front desk. I have stayed at the Loewe's Madison several times annually for the past five years. The hotel earns good marks for location and very friendly bell staff who greet me warmly at each return. Room service and food quality - at least for lunch - are good values. So why charge predatory prices for minibar items - wine listed at $25 for a 2 glass bottle came to $34 with tax and extra charges; $13+ for cashews? And $50 for overnight valet parking?!? A very convenient location, relatively close to The White House and public transport, and the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We checked with Loews central reservations prior to travel whether guest rooms were equipped with tea/coffee making facilities, having read conflicting reviews on Trip Advisor. First, let me start with the positives. There are few. Staff was pleasant, though lacking in numbers. The room was clean, but worn. Location in downtown area is good. Two blocks from Farragut Square, a vibrant and interesting area with lots of food trucks around lunch. That also makes it close to Metro stations on the Square. Conference staff and food were very good. Now for the negatives. It should have been a clue when two of the three stations in the lobby were involved in complaints ... Read more

Nicely located minutes from the Monument, one can appreciate a 15 min walk to the attractions or short 5 minute drive. Lobby and room are presented in upscale decor and creatively make a good presentation in a small space. Check in was a bit cramped after 3 people in line. Rooms are moderate yet clean. Beds were not that comfortable and bathroom had bit of a mildew smell. Note the lower even numbers face a quad with virtually no view. Even with those minor issues I would recommend stay as I wa... Also, we made a couple of requests via the online chat option on the website that were fulfilled upon check in, that was nice. Our room was decent but could use some minor maintenance.
