Recently attended a conference of 500+ people at the Hyatt and was very impressed by the helpfulness of their staff, the comfort of the meeting rooms, and the quality of the food, and the seamless service. The guest rooms are similar to any modern hotel. What makes this hotel stand out is how well they take care of their guests.

Decent sized rooms for sharing, excellent conference facilities. A bit odd that you enter and then go down into a lobby, but this makes the atrium an excellent place to spot old friends and business associates. Rooms could be a little bit bigger but given that this is a Hyatt, it is up to expectations.

Was really impressed with this hotel property. Attended a large conference AND everything ran very smoothly. We requested a high floor, non-smoking , King bed, NOT near an ice machine or elevator, & a view ! For the Conference rate, we got all! :) I forgot to request a refrigerator (for medication purposes) during the reservation process, and even though the hotel was populated, we requested one at check-in and with only one reminder to front-desk, one promptly arrived. AND there was no addition... Read more

What a great time. Great location, convenient to all that you want or need. Responsive staff, helpful taxi service. The hotel food was exceptional. I would Def recommend if you are headed to DC. I was there for a conference both times. The conference facilities were clean, easy to use and staff were very helpful and friendly.

First off we were greeted with parking. When you book your stay it says nothing about a $62/night for parking!! Yes $62! The room itself was nice but does not provide the usual mini fridge or microwave Hyatt's usually afford. The location we seemed pretty excited about until we were told at the front desk upon check in about the homeless camp right behind the hotel. The first night we did attempt to walk to dinner ( you have to pass through the homeless camp to go anywhere) and were greeted by a... Read more

The homeless population outside of the hotel made it uncomfortable coming and going from the hotel - not because they are just trying to survive but the laying in the middle of the sidewalk and across the bushes as well as squatting in the hydrangeas. No fridge in the rooms is a huge inconvenience. The restaurant available is pricey for the food quality. $17.00 for an average burger and fries. $24.00 for breakfast buffet. And here's a tip.. the Starbucks inside is marked up tremendously and ... Read more

Good location and affordable price Rooms spacious and very clean Lobby is very nice and good guests service Only shocked by the price of the parking $62 night! But it's Washington DC! I give 3 starts because of the surroundings there are many homeless around the back of the building and that its kind of unsettling.

In typical Hyatt fashion they do not spend money on their properties that are high $ producers, because they don't have to. This hotel is in an excellent location near the Capital and not far from the Mall. It is priced like a 4 or 5 star hotel including food and the bar, however the service and facility is more like a 3 star hotel. If you want a prime location you cannot beat it but don't expect much based on the price you are paying.

We recently stayed at the Hyatt, having previously been there about 6 years ago. Nothing inside the hotel has changed in those 6 years, including the dated interior (mid-late 90's?) and room decor. Outside, the building is unchanged, although the neighborhood (as pointed out by other reviewers) is overwhelmed by panhandlers, who make any walking excursion to/from the hotel without being approached. Our room was a corner king, which looked out onto a parking lot for an adjacent shelter. A nea... Read more

The rooms were clean and beds we're comfortable. But for the price of room...should have had a refrigerator and microwave in rooms. My room attendant for rm484 Nancy was very nice and helpful. My room service waiter Keit was a sweetheart. The hotel is very close to capital and union station which was a plus. The only thing I didn't like was all the homeless people constantly begging so close to hotel.

Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill was a great hotel to stay. The staff were extremely friendly, accommodating, and it's in a great location in DC. The room was wonderful, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only drawback was that the towels were rough and no fridge in the room. The hotel restaurant and bar were fantastic as well.

This hotel is a short walk to the Capital and the Mall, as well as Union Station. However, there is little around it. There a couple of streets near it that you would not want to walk down at night. Only a few choices for dining nearby. The rooms are typical, fairly small. Their two bed rooms are full size beds, not queens. Service was adequate. There was an issue with having been booked, through a third party with getting a king bed room (doesn't work too well with a family of four), but... Read more

We booked the Hyatt Capitol DC for a long weekend to visit my son who was staying at Georgetown law school for his internship . We wanted to be close to his location and union station and the Hyatt seemed ideal . As a Gold passport member , I was able to book the best rate online for a double room . The location is only a 5 min walk from union station , archives or judiciary square metro stop and we took the metro directly from Reagan National Airport. The check in was seamless and Emma at the... Read more

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to the metro, Amtrak and the Capitol in downtown DC. The front desk people are very friendly and tell you everything you need to know during your stay, e.g. wifi, breakfast, how far your room is from the elevator, etc. The rooms are big enough, but can use a little extra cleaning. There was dust inside my coffee maker, probably no coffee drinkers were in my room for a long time... :) Also, the large movable mirror on the bathroom wall had so much dus... Read more

Stayed just a few days on a detour from a Texas to NYC road trip and had a very good experience. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk to most major attractions and both Union Station and metro stops. The amenities are top notch and the service was very good. My only real issue was partially my fault. I didn't research parking options fully at the hotel and felt a bit forced to pay for the hotel valet service when I arrived. Additionally, th... Read more

I travel and stay at this Hyatt Capitol Hill every year. Although I qualified for the conference price, I was refused the price for the first day I arrived on the 13th. They wanted to charge me more than double...after I tried by phone 3 times, I got a travel agent involved and it was finally reduced to $10 over the conference price by the time I checked in. Prior to arriving, I was angry and confused and almost stayed elsewhere the first night. Also, what's up with the housekeeping staff? ... Read more

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff! Family friendly, small indoor pool, restaurant in lobby with good food. This is an older Hyatt but it holds true to the brilliant Hyatt brand. Room service was fast and food selection is pretty decent. We enjoyed our staff. Thank you!

Everything about our stay here was wonderful! From the valet parking, the friendly staff, and the spacious clean room, I would recommend this to anybody. I gave four stars, as the only downside was that parking was pretty expensive at $56 per night. We've stayed in NYC several times on vacation at a comparable hotel, and the parking there was only $10 per day plus the hotel room was less expensive. Even so, we will most likely stay at this hotel again the next time we go to DC.

I've now stayed at my second Hyatt Conference Center. Both times it's first class all the way. The staff is superb from the reservations desk to the wait staff in Article One to housekeeping. Very beautiful environment and it is kept completely spotless. It seems like the employees enjoy their jobs and it makes me want to work for them. Article One has delicious food and the waitstaff doesn't judge if you look disheveled in the morning, delicious food too.
