I was truly impressed with the quality and professionalism of the entire staff. Front Desk was awesome, the Valet always timely, the breakfast staff was at your service, Housekeeping did not disappoint. Could not have asked for a better place to stay ... 2 blocks from the Metro.

A nice hotel except the air conditioning compressor was broken, the air conditioning unit above was dripping into a pool outside my window, the shares were broken, and the amenities only half supplied, For $250 per night, I will do better next time.

Stayed here in early May for 6 nights. The place is at walking distance from DCs Capitol. Staff are very friendly and warm. They will guide you for visiting tourist destinations in DC. Decent variety of breakfast. Had a great stay. Perfect for business travellers. I would have given 5 stars, had it not been for the on-going construction work near the hotel.

I want to start this review by saying that the Hyatt Place itself was a beautiful, clean hotel and the people who work there were wonderful. These are the issues I had: There is construction going on next to the hotel. I was woken up at 3:30am by the sound of loud dump trucks. A few hours later they were in full construction mode which was also super loud. (We heard this from the 10th floor). On a Saturday. I did not sleep well because of this. Second, by reading these reviews it sounded lik... Read more

Very nice hotel...very clean with very comfortable rooms. The rooms come with a free breakfast and wifi. The staff was very friendly and professional and very helpful with all questions. The location is very good as its in walking distance to the capitol. There is construction of a new Hyatt hotel across the street but there was no noise problem however it was interesting to see them dig the foundation. There are places nearby to eat if not eating at the hotel....and the price was fantastic!!!

We stayed at this location for a five day family vacation. We loved just about everything at this hotel. Our room was spacious and comfortable for a family of four. The free breakfast every morning was very tasty with a lot of options. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint was the television. There was a significant delay to either change the channel or bring up the guide to select a station. The box is located behind the television which I think is what caused the delay. W... Read more

My husband and I stayed here for a few nights when he presented at an academic conference. Let me start by saying that the hotel itself is beautiful and comfortable. We had a high room overlooking the city and it was lovely. And pretty quiet. We really enjoyed the daily breakfast. Temporary issue: one side of this hotel faces a major construction project - that means horrible, repetitive, LOUD noises all day. So, ask for a room facing away from that. From our room, all that sounded muffled. S... Read more

We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Place on Capitol Hill this week. I went for a run yesterday morning early about 6:30 am to the Capitol Steps and back. I can see that NoMa is an evolving and regentrified neighborhood and would like to spend more time. Thanks for the kindness extended to my wife and I, during our recent stay. Ryan, the GM, provided us with a fruit tray and some nice Merlot as a welcome gift since I am a platinum member of Gold Passport. Mike Smith Reston VA

This hotel is in a good location, just two blocks from the WMATA Red line at NoMa-Gallaudet. The room was spacious and comfortable with a good sized TV. We asked for a bath in the bathroom (they are available) but, when we asked via e-mail before our trip, we only got a very inpersonal response from a corporate office - not the hotel. Needless to say, we didn't get a bath; just a shower. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of hot food on offer. Plates could be bigger though. Anot... Read more

I can't say enough about the staff and how friendly and accommodating they were. Average hotel and food, both could use some upgrades. Location was horrible, had to walk through 3 blocks of ghetto, complete with lots of people loitering around outside and trash everywhere before you got to the more acceptable areas of DC. 40 minute walk to museums, not convenient.

The hotel's location is convenient, blocks away from the metro and less than 10-20 mins away from DC's "hot spots." Street parking is limited, and valet was average priced but I'd recommend ubering if need be. The room was spacious and comfortable and the grounds of the hotel were very clean! The staff was amazing, they were very friendly and made sure we were well accommodated. Dante and Mona were very hospitable and made our stay feel like home.

Right when we entered the room we noticed there was no toilet paper in the room - had to go ask for some. This was just the beginning of our subpar stay! The breakfast situation is poorly planned -- the line is very long mostly due to the staff's fault (no clean plates, most of the food needing to be replenished, etc.). Each morning (3) I had to ask for the creamer to be refilled- there are 3 pitchers at 2 separate locations all empty. To cap off our stay our passenger side mirror was broken off... Read more

We stayed here midweek due to its location near my office. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was facing New York Ave but was very quiet considering the traffic. We were on the ninth floor. The Hyatt bed is extremely comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the Galludet Metro stop, a grocery store, pharmacy, and several Federal departments, including ATF, Energy and Education. Got this hotel on a special so won't complain too much. It had included breakfast so that was a plus, however we did have to wait 20 min in the breakfast queue, somehow for a 200 room hotel I would expect the breakfast arrangements to be more organized. If you shower for less than 5 min don't expect the water to be hotter than lukewarm. It's about 1.5 miles to the Capitol/National Mall area. We opted to walk instead of dealing with holiday crowds taking the metro or using Uber. Nice looking Hotel . Person who checked us in was unfriendly and unaccommodating. Gave major attitude to my wife and I when we asked if we can leave the luggage in with the hotel while we waited for a room. When asked for directions, he responded - "better ask your GPS". Room was very nice and breakfast was included. However, we had to wait on a 50+ person line to get some. There is no parking at or around this hotel other than Valet, which costs $45.

My fiancé and I truly enjoyed our stay at this amazing hotel. The front desk attendant, Sarah, helped us tremendously. She guided us on how to maneuver in the city and on the tour line. She and the hotel were great. We would love to stay at your facility in the future.

We stayed at Hyatt Place in this location because of its proximity to Union Market to attend a wedding. The location is a bit rough and noisy because of all the construction going on around the hotel. I am sure in a couple of years, the whole NoMa neighborhood will be gentrified. The building is fairly new and contemporary, which is nice. The complimentary breakfast is a bit underwhelming in that it can use more fresh food, better eggs, more friendly helpers, hotter coffee, and the like. Recepti... Read more

Dropping off our daughter at Catholic University, it is one of the closest hotels to CUA. We found the hotel modern, new, clean and the staff were very good. The breakfast in the morning was busy, but depending on the time you arrived, there were some foods/drinks that needed replacement. The neighborhood is going through some major reconstruction, as we watched outside our window a building being demolished. We did not walk around in the neighborhood, but the Metro is walking distance. The po... Read more

We had an absolutely wonderful stay from 9/1-9/5 at Hyatt Place. Our family of 4 felt very comfortable in our room and our 2 boys had the chance to enjoy the pool on 3 occasions. The breakfast is great with many options and always seemed to be fresh. It was a great way to start our mornings. We went down each morning from 7-9 and never found the line to be very long, no more than 10 deep. I certainly agree with previous reviews that the breakfast staff are really the superstars of this establis... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for a week. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food available at the hotel was ok. My first night I ordered from the menu and (quesadilla and soup). If I had to guess, most of it was microwaved. It was palatable, but not repeated. The breakfast buffet was typical offerings (eggs, toast, bagel, fruit), but the eggs had a rubbery texture and the breakfast sandwiches- again- had a microwaved taste to me. The highli... Read more

This is a standard, fairly new property in what is politely termed as a "transitional" neighborhood. The area, about a mile North of the Capitol is very easy to get to: one stop North of Union Station on the the Red Line of DC's Metro. Many of the buildings surrounding the hotel are undergoing (or have recently undergone) renovation. Immediately South (across the street) is a major construction site and this very noisy project is almost close enough to touch from many of the rooms. Unfortunat... Read more

Yes there is construction all around the hotel. We were up early every day so it never bothered us. The area around the hotel is not the best but it is not the worst either. If you stay on the main stretch you will be fine. I would not wander around late at night. We cabbed it everywhere. The hotel is not really close to the major attractions but that is what makes it one of the cheaper options in Washington. It is a nice, new, clean hotel. There is always some kind of construction going on in DC. In this case right outside the Hyatt Place hotel. Sarah, the Hyatt front desk clerk, was very sensative and accommodating. She immediately recommended to put us on the other side of the hotel without hesitation. Marcus, the hotel supervisor is the best. He was more that understanding and very customer focused. I highly recommend the Hyatt Place, mainly for their customer service.

I would have given this property a 2 and a half stars if I could. The good: Ritchie, who checked me in did an astounding job in his welcome delivery to me. He is missing his calling and should be on the road teaching all the Millennials how to address incoming guest at all Hyatt Places. The bad and this is specifically to you Ryan Cimei: There seems to be a fine line between being sustainable and being on the cheap. I arrived at my room which was 76 degrees and air not turned on. This hotel sparkles like a new hotel. the rooms were clean (I am a tough sell on this part) and the staff was wonderful. The breakfast buffet was fresh; had lots of choices and was tasty. The hotel is built right on top of a very noisy street with lots of truck traffic. There is apparently little soundproofing in the walls and windows as you can hear all this noise coming into the room, all night long. The hotel knows it has a problem - the rooms have white noise machines and an offer of ear plugs.

New York Avenue is very busy, with heavy traffic noise. the room has a white noise generator, ear plugs and a sign excusing the noise.
