This is a really good hotel with a good restaurant attached. The staff was very helpful. Clean, modern, location, location, location. We were there on a rainy weekend and appreciated the umbrellas. Starbucks just on the corner and great empanadas just up the street.

The location is really great - right off DuPont circle and we walked all the way down to the White House and other sights. The hotel itself is nothing to write home about - you see the fact that they probably run an occupancy rate of above 90%. The decor in the room was sort of run down and the Windows need better insulation. Our room was just off the Main Street and we could literally hear every world and noise from the restaurant below. The service was good and friendly, breakfast, well, yo... Read more

We had a fabulous time at the hotel Palomar. We loved the quirkiness of the decor, very modern. The wine tasting in the evenings was brilliant fun. The staff were very helpful and we were really close to DuPont circle and Georgetown. Great location. We walked to the Washington monument in about 40 mins. Great hotel and location.

Reserved several rooms, no problem with any of the reservations. Easy and fast check-in. Arrived right at 5pm when they have their complimentary happy hour. I was in room 309, a large suite right above the hotel entrance. Comfortable bed and quiet. Good location in Dupont Cirlce, within walking distance of Metro and plenty of restaurants in the area. Morning they also have complimentary coffee/tee. There is also a restaurant - Urbana in the hotel, but I did not have a chance to visit.

When I go to DC, Palomar is usually my first choice. It's a great location, the rooms are nice and the amenities in the bathroom are great, the happy hour is a plus. Many restaurants in the area, the Phillips Collection is nearby, it's close to metro (Dupont Circle red line and a 15-min walk to Foggy Bottom blue-orange). And these boutique hotels are just so much nicer than the impersonal and sterile mainline chains. The yoga mat in every room is a nice touch!

The service is excellent, with many special touches--a complimentary wine reception each evening, excellent coffee in the lobby, special amenities for those who join Kimpton Karma Rewards. The location for DC can't be beat, you can walk to everything from here, or hop on the metro. The pool is a smaller area but has DC charm. All of the employees seem to genuinely enjoy their job, which in turn creates a better experience for the guests and you can tell the difference. Also love how pet-friendly they are (without it making the hotel smelly, which was not the case at all!). Design is great, amenities are great, really a great option for a DC getaway.

We were in town and decided to stay at Hotel Palomar. It is located in a great location in Dupont Circle, just mins away from the metro and steps away from a variety of restaurants. The rooms are large and beautiful which is amazing for a posh/boutique hotel in a major city. The hotel starts with an email a couple of days before your stay telling you how excited they are for your upcoming stay and provide you with contact information (email/text etc) that they respond to within minutes. We were in town for three nights for a wedding. The Kimpton Palomar was an ideal base for this trip. We walked into Georgetown, over to the White House, to the former riot corridor. With the Metro stop and its central location, it was a great place to be. The food in the restaurant was good. Service was in general very friendly. The rooms are modern and generally very comfortable. Public areas in the hotel are well designed and comfortable. It is a pretty busy place, but still has the fe... Read more

I love so many other Kimptons in DC purely based on outstanding service: Monaco, Topaz, Rouge, Helix. During my four night stay at the Palomar I experienced a cold receptionist at check-in and no provision of the raid the mini bar coupon (extremely unusual for a Kimpton, but I don't use the minibar so I didn't care); waking up with five red welts on my legs and then killing a small black winged insect in my bed; borrowing a bike on day 1 with malfunctioning gears; borrowing their "best" bike on ... Attended a reunion in DC and we used The Palomar as our home base. The intimate lobby and bar made for a perfect prevent gathering before and after planned events during the weekend. Front Desk was very accommodating to all our needs. Excellent location for all DC events.

I brought 7 family members to visit my son during a college weekend visit. The entire staff, from valet, to check-in, to housekeeping, to bartending, were incredibly attentive, helpful and professional. It is becoming too rare of an experience to be treated with such consistent kindness and attention to detail and for that reason and more, my family and I cannot wait to visit the Palomar DC again, in the very near future! Highly recommended!

It was the first time my husband and I had visited DC and we loved it! The hotel was very nice, the room was huge a well as very comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. They even gave us great local places to go for food and football which did not disappoint. The hotel is located near it all and we were able to walk to everyplace we wanted to visit. The only thing I was not fond of was the hotel parking fees but I would definitely go back!

We stayed as a family 2 adults and our son who was 18 and the reason for our holiday. Washington DC was at the last location of our 2 week trip and we stayed for 4 nights. Check in was swift and after a mix up with our room not having enough beds in,we were located on the 9th floor. The room was enormous with 2 huge beds in, a massive TV screen. Fabulously decorated and very luxurious. The bathroom again was very new looking and although on the small side it was clean and had a luxurious feeling... Read more

My wife and I stayed at the Palomar for 3 nights. We really enjoy the vibe at Kimpton hotels but what made this stay so memorable was an experience that set the bar quite high for service excellence. I had requested a fan in our room. Not a big deal - just find the sound relaxing. Max, the manager on duty, said that would be no problem. By early evening there was no fan so I stopped by the front desk. Max told us that all fans were in use but that he would go out and buy one at the local C... Read more

Stayed here for three nights, attending a conference at the hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly in this modern design appointed hotel. Check out the Q*bert friendly carpet in the hallway in the meeting space area:) The hotel sits conveniently close to the embassies in the neighborhood, the rock creek trail for running, the DuPont Metro stop is just a few blocks away. The Palomar is my favorite hotel in Washington, DC. It is located right by Dupont Circle (5 minute walk to the Metro). The Phillips Collection is right around the corner. The hotel is beautiful and modern. The service is incredible. Rick and his team at the front desk were so warm and welcoming. The doormen are helpful with everything from bags to directions. The housekeepers keep everything incredibly neat and clean. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the amenities I love at the Kim... Read more

The location, Dupont Circle, was terrific! We loved it- Our room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable and we are quite picky when it comes to mattresses! We walked around and found nice coffee shops and a great bead shop nearby. We felt safe and met a few very helpful people ~ really nice and friendly. I never went to the pool so I can't report on that- the front desk was helpful and the doormen, one in particular, was so, so friendly and nice! (I wish I could remember... Read more

Great hotel in good location, with very helpful staff - Paris Morris was especially helpful in booking tours and making excellent suggests for things to do! The room was large and pleasant, the breakfast and dinners were very good, and the wine offered every evening at 5.00 pm was a nice treat. Thoroughly recommend any Kimpton hotel and this was certainly up to their high standard.

Nice hotel, good service, well located for the Du Pont area. Huge room! Kimpton offer free coffee/tea in the mornings and wine between 5-6pm, although lobby is a bit cramped and there was one guy who had clearly overindulged on our first night, which gave the event a slightly 'shady' feel...great breakfast in the Urbana restaurant.

What a great hotel. I only stayed here for one night but the experience was wonderful. From a friendly staff and an easy check-in process,to a very comfortable bed and an awesome location. The room is not too small and it had a huge TV. It is right near Dupont Circle with plenty of fun restaurants and bars within a short walk. I will be back for sure.

Once our go-to hotel in DC, but, after a recent stay, not any more. Kimpton needs to focus less on funky decor and more on comfort and basic functionality. We both ended up with bruised and gashed shins from the sharp bedframe corners protruding dangerously into the very small crowded room, which lacked a coffee maker and whose USB ports did not work. The trendy, industrial-style bedside lamps had clear, glaring light bulbs with no shades or dimmers. The heavy barn-style bathroom sliding doo... Read more

The Palomar is very close to DuPont Circle, easy walk to Georgetown and Foggy Bottom. Rooms are small but comfortable. The day I arrived, one elevator was out of service making for long waits but it was restored the next day. As another reviewer noted, rooms are a bit funky, rather than functional. The sliding bathroom door is big and heavy. The bed has sharp edges which my wife managed to bang against and received a nice black and blue mark. Great service at a very comfortable mid-sized hotel off Dupont Circle. Excellent service (the valet and bell staff particularly so), fun free wine happy hour in the lobby. Pets are more than accepted, they are welcomed. Diverse food choices all along P street with easy access to the Metro Red Line. Best place to stay if you are doing anything at American University. I'd recommend a spa suite over a junior suite if you are looking for a bit more space.

The personnel is very friendly and helpful. They were very prompt whenever I requested something to be brought to my room. The wine hour is really nice. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotless. I had a suite which was two big rooms, both with large TV's. The bed and pillow were really comfortable. Nice, but relatively small bathroom. Great central location near the metro and lots of restaurants and shops.

My husband & I are artists from Maine. We stayed at the DC Palomar in September 2016 & were just delighted with this hotel. We expected a typical hotel with blah decor. But we found the artwork throughout the hotel is just amazing. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Travelled from BWI to this hotel, train connections were really good, from BWI to union station, and then metro to dupont circle metro, probably took just under an hour, which costed about 11USD. The hotel is in a great location; there are wonderful restaurants all around, and a grocery store across the street, so I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant. Metro is close by but the location made for a nice walk to the mall. (It was a nice, sunny November day, so I enjoyed the walk,) The room was very nice with lots of space and a large, comfortable bed. Kimpton Palomar had excellent guest relations. I will look to stay here again. I highly recommend it.
