Located near the popular P Street scene & close to Logan Circle, this hotel is the perfect spot for DC visitors. Close to the White House and many other sights, it has everything you need: Covered Entry for check in, Bar, Restaurant, Pool, Parking Garage - usually you get some of these items but not all of them. Disclosure: Holiday Inn was a trip sponsor for my Mia On The Go adventures in DC but that in no way means this review is not honest. Because they are so above board, I gladly welcome ... Read more

So glad I chose this hotel. Our room was huge and light. Breakfast had a good choice however it was annoying that the waiting staff asked for a tip to be left every morning. They only bring the coffee/tea - it was a self service buffet. Tea and coffee always available in the lobby. Ate in the hotel restaurant twice - lunch and dinner. Both times good. Take advantage of the excellent laundry room - you only have to pay for the washing powder - $1.50. Good selection of restaurants within easy wal... Read more

Ashiya was a great hotel representative. She provided exceptional customer service and exemplified geeat professionalism. Despite my "not so great" initial encounter with one of the other hotel representatives, she made my stay 100% better;she seemed to genuinely care. The hotel itself was fine especially when its a job related travel.

We spent 3 days in Washington, DC. The hotel was somewhat near the White House resulting in no need for our car. We parked in the very small garage below the hotel, $31.50...daily. The room was small but clean. The elevators (3) are very slow resulting in noise traveling in the hallways while people waited for the elevator to arrive. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The dinner in the hotel was fair. We found a Whole Foods around the corner for good sandwiches.

Location is fantastic, 15 mins walking from White House, 20 to Washington Monument and 2 mins to Whole Foods Market (much better choice than the hotel restaurant). Very clean with good sized two-queen bedded room, very comfy beds. Air-con, fridge, safe. I saw microwaves in some rooms so probably available on request. Complimentary laundry, (take some washing tablets with you, save buying while there, although available at $1.25). You can walk to the White House, and in the opposite direction there are many restaurants and bars to eat in. Breakfast is a buffet at $16 and if you can't do that justice you can order smaller cheaper set meals off the menu but... Read more

Our family recently visited this hotel. Let me just say that the staff here is far superior than any hotel we have ever stayed at. We visited the restaurant several times, and it was our pleasure to meet Mr. Lee and Mr. Barak. Both men were generous, attentive, and so genuinely kind and remembered us each time we went. I also wish I had taken the time to ask the name of the bartender. He went out of his way to make me a drink that was not on the menu at the time....and it was the best I ever ha... Read more

Just finished a 8-night vacation myself and the kids. Hotel is in a very convenient location, 10' from the metro station and at reasonable walking distance from the white house. Surrounded by green and residential buildings so pretty quiet. Not a lot of restaurants to choose from at walking distance, and this combined with the pretty hot weather we've encountered had us prefer a few dinners at the restaurant hotel. Have had several memorable drinks and experiences here. Largely due to the excellent service of Ron Clark, the bartender. He knows how to mix drinks, is intellectually sophisticated so interesting to chat with, and he never seems to get ruffled. Patrons usually include hotel guests like myself, and also a sprinkling of locals. The bar decor needs to be renovated, as does the adjacent out-dated restaurant. The pleasant experience started when we checked in late in the evening from a flight from the West Coast. Breakfast next morning was fine, although the absence of a manager meant the staff were more interested in chatting amongst themselves than in providing a service - the only negative comment of the stay. Would definitely recommend it.

Arrived late after flight was cancelled. grabbed dinner in the bar. Ron Clark took care of me; got me the full diningroom menu and provided great service. Comfortable room. Great place to do some work and get a restful sleep to start a busy week. Classy hotel

The hotel is fine. Elevators are slow and old, but new carpet in hallways, clean and modern. Service was great, which makes all the difference. In particular, the bartender Ron Clark made me feel at home - something I don't usually experience a hotel or in a bar!

Well, not a destination hotel, that's for sure, but perfectly adequate for a short stay, especially if this is a neighborhood that you want to be near. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly, including the front desk, the doorman, and the engineer who came to my room to make an adjustment. The room and bathroom were clean and well-stocked. But there's nothing luxe about this hotel, and lots of little things that were a bit irritating. For some reason, only half of the blackout... Staff all excellent and extremely helpful, good check in and check out, no problems. Our room was large, so was the bathroom. Clean and well maintained. We were told it was by/behind the lift in case we wanted a different room, but we said that was fine. As it turned out we were not bothered by the lift at all. We were about 20 mins walk from the White House etc, which was fine by us. Although the hotel has a restaurant we would have preferred options to choose from nearby eating places as it's ... Had wonderful stay in Washington DC I highly recommend this hotel. The service was A1 and the room was well worth the price. I will never forget the best bartender I've ever met Ron Clark, the nicest.

This is not your typical holiday inn. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to provide exceptional customer service. I stayed at this hotel on a business trip. This was my first trip to DC. When I stopped at the bar after work, I met the bartender, Ron. He was super attentive and gave me great tips on places to see and how to get around. He truly made me feel welcomed. If I come to DC again, I will definitely choose this hotel. Thanks to everyone who made this a memorable stay!

Great service, great bar even better martini!!! The vodka selection was a little scarce they were out of Titos, Stoli, and just a couple pours of absolute were available. Liquor and beverage director should really pay better attention to his bar stock!!!! This being said the bartender Ron Clark was very apologetic and made everything more then ok. Hands down one of the best dirty martinis I've had in a long time!!! Beverage director should go back to large containers of olives so Ron doesn't... Read more

I think the most under appreciated, pleasant , humble employee is Larry the door man such a great soul!!! Had our luggage to our room asap!!! Even hung our coats up!!! Unexpected yet welcomed service!!! A man that truly enjoys his job and is eager to please guests upon there arrival!!!! Your hotel could benefit from more employees such as Larry!! The bartender Ron is great and could benefit from a more attentive food and beverage director!!! Bar was out of top shelf vodkas. Thus being said... Read more

There is nothing overly special about this Holiday Inn. It is just what you want, when your in town for a few days. It is clean, well run and not far from the city centre. The Avenue restaurant is in the lobby and supplies a decent buffet breakfast for $18. By this I mean the eggs used in the scramble are real, there is a choice of yo-plait or greek yogurt, fresh fruit, brown, wholemeal and white breads etc. The only downside is the hotel is positioned on a busy intersection. I was on the 4th fl... Read more

I love staying here. The location is very convenient. They have the most personable Bartender in D.C. Ron Clark. Over the last seven years, I've spent a lot of time staying at this place. I travel for work frequently and whenever I'm in the area I do my best to reserve a room at this Hotel.

To whom it may concern I want to write to commend your staff in particular the bartender Ron Clark. He seems to be well rounded on his knowledge of the the DC area not to mention his dirty martini mix. I would appreciate if Mr. Clark could be acknowledge by the hotel for his graceful poise and remarkable kindness. He is truly an asset to your staff.

The entire staff I interacted with was great, but the service from Jason and Fuad (front desk) and Ron and Emon (bar) was above and beyond expectation. They all listened to my needs and remembered my preferences, be it room type or drink at the bar. The rooms (multiple stays for business) were very nice, beds were comfortable, and everything from A/C to TV worked as expected. Restaraunt food (eaten at bar) was always exactly what I ordered and very tasty.

Excellent hotel! Moderately priced, conveniently located, easy walk to restaurants, shopping. Nice rooms with view of DC, small fridge, safe and even a Keueig coffee machine!! Bath had two sinks - one in bath and one in dressing area. On-site parking also a plus! Friendly and helpful staff. This was not our first visit and won't be our last!!

Staff friendly, room nice and modern with comfortable bed. Room also equipped with a pod-style coffee machine, which was very much appreciated. However, our room was facing a rather busy road and the windows did not seem to do a good job keeping the noise out. We were awoken early in the morning by traffic. We would stay again, but only if on the opposite side of the hotel.

I visit Washington once a year for an annual conference and always stay at the Holiday Inn Central/White House. The amazing thing is bartender Ron Clark remembers me by name EVERY year, asks about my family by name, and remembers my choice of wine. What a great, quant little bar right off the lobby. Couldn't ask for a better hospitality experience. Thanks Ron ... and thanks to the management of a great hotel with a central location.

Hotel is nice. One elevator is not working currently so the morning rush to get down to lobby can take a little longer than usual. The bartender (Ron Clark) is great. The food choices are limited but the quality of food is decent.

This is the second time I stay at the hotel and I have always been well looked after. I especially want to highlight the kindness of Eddie who in English or Spanish always has a very kind treatment. Best regards.

In DC and can't always get home at night. I wondered into this hotel and JW helped me out the wednesday before thanksgiving. I hooked me up with the late check out which was perfect because I was tired and needed to stretch out on a nice, big bed, watch some mindless T.V. and catch a few Zs before work that night. I recommend this hotel and definatly want to thank JW for his warm friendly personality. That guy needs a raise!
