I think this hotel is poorly managed and starting to go downhill. It does not live up to the ratings. The location is awesome as it is very close to the metro and I liked the modern look. We had an early flight and arrived around noon on 5/15/2016. Check-in went good and I was happy to be able to check-in early. They gave me a better room then what I had book online which was great. However, when I walked into the room it was very clear that the room wasn't clean and the person before me left in... Read more

This was a great hotel to stay in while attending a wedding in Washington, DC. The hotel was very clean, the staff very, very friendly. Grocery store on the corner, not far from anywhere in DC area. Felt safe coming in late in the area.

Lots of choices to stay in DC. This is by no means a bad hotel and the staff was very pleasant. For the cost, you can do much better. If they dropped the price I would stay again, but not at the current price. Shop around.

An attentive, empathetic, and courteous hotel staff -- Hotel is located in a gentrifying part of DC with some interesting new development. Upscale market on the corner allows visitors to grad some healthy market food selections between regular hours and midnight, which is a real asset if you don't feel like paying hotel prices for a snack.

The value is great for Washington. But the beds and pillows were horrible. I understand the location is part of an urban renewal so I restaurants and other services around the hotel should only get better. But they must improve the sleeping accommodations.

Hotel was really nice, queen room had coffee/tea machine, tv, air conditioning and everything else expected of a hotel. the service from the staff was excellent especially since we didn't have a credit card for pre authorisation/damages and they willinging accepted cash deposit. staff were extremely helpful. location was right next to a metro station which was only a few stops from everything, metro was easy to use. also located near grocery store, pharmacy. also very close to Union Station. ve... Only 10 minutes average walk to Union station, there are also a couple of Supermarkets very close by as well as a sandwich bar next door should you not want to pay the quite high fee for the buffet breakfast. The rooms are of average size but are very clean, typical style American bath with shower attachment. There is also a microwave and fridge in the room should you wish to opt for a 'ping dinner' and chill your own drinks from the supermarket which is about 1 minutes walk away. We always stay at a Hilton if possible because the staff is always friendly and very accommodating and the room is clean and comfortable. This Hilton is no different and exceeded our expectations. The location was great as we were attending a concert nearby. The staff was very helpful in getting us a cab when needed and even retrieving our concert tickets out of our valeted vehicle promptly so we could make our show.

This Hilton Garden Inn met all my expectations. New and fresh and convenient to a number of areas. Lots of building going on around so it will only get better. I walked to meet other friends near the mall and it took 30 min. Uber rides are <$10 for other sites. I would have liked a complimentary breakfast like I had at other locations but all other services were nice. Valet is quick and easy. Did not use the restaurant or fitness facility but both are new. Good stay!

Stayed at the Hilton Gardens on First Street as wedding accommodations. The location is great with a wonderful grocery store and pharmacy close by. Besides the hotel bar and restaurant, other food options were in walking distance. We could have stayed in the hotel all day and chatted with the staff...made us feel like family. Highly recommend it.

Very nice hotel! Very clean and well kept. The staff were very helpful and courteous! Good walking distance to union station to catch a tour bus. A grocery store and pharmacy are conveniently located next door. Neighborhood is modern with lots of new stores. If I had to say anything negative it would be that the beds are too firm but that is personal preference. Will definitely stay here again when in D.C.

We stayed here four nights. It is a good hotel, very clean and comfortable, with kind, helpful staff. It is an easy walk from Union Station (we are an elderly couple) and there is a very good supermarket close by. We liked our room. It was comfortable, quiet and well appointed, and equipped with a fridge, microwave and coffee maker (which made a decent cup). Very obliging staff, most courteous, Hotel is clean with good feel about it and the room was larger than normal as was the ensuite. I had an excellent 2-night stay at this property in mid-May. We were there for a congressional conference and the location was excellent for getting to and from our meetings but also having close amenities within walking distance. 1 of the 2 elevators was not working for the 3 days we were there. This affected all services in the hotel. Bags were delayed getting to the rooms. Normally I would choose a hotel of Hilton family in Crystal City to save money. To celebrate my colleague's 40 y/o birthday during July 4th weekend, actually this hotel offered a better deal and location to do the sightseeing than any hotel in Crystal City. When you enter the lobby you can tell that the staff is making the best of the space they are allotted. The front desk is literally 2 computer stations. The complimentary coffee is squeezed into the corner to the left of the lobby doors. You definitely get the sense that you won't be hanging out in the lobby or meeting friends there as you would in some of the boutique hotels (i.e. Kimptons). When we arrived on the Friday before a long holiday weekend, they had one of the two elevators closed because they were moving mattresses. This seemed like odd timing as it was super busy. I'm enjoying this hotel as a business traveler. I wish there were more table service restaurants in the area for dinner (out of Hilton's control), but realize that it is in a business district that mainly caters to the lunch crowd. I really liked the location of this hotel. It is close to Union Station and a very short taxi ride to many popular attractions in DC. The room was average and had what seemed like a design flaw. Hotel is located in NoMa, near the ATF building. We elected to take the Metro's Red Line to the NoMa stop, which put us at about a 1-2 minute walk to the hotel. The other option is to jump off at Union Station and walk, which I estimate takes about 10 minutes. The neighborhood has been referred to as "up and coming", which I completely agree with. I'm an NPR nerd, and the NPR studio is about two blocks from the hotel; next time I'll remember to book a tour in advance.
