Perfect place to stay in .the reception staff were very pleasant and helpful for a first time visitors. Rooms were in an immaculate status. It wasn't easy to use the elevator first time as the room key is also an access to the floors but by practice it was easy

The room and bathroom were not well clean!!! They could do better with such name. The rooms are very small and depending on what side of the building you are staying, so will be the noise. the first night the trash collection ( Glass )were there at 3:00 AM !!! The breakfast could also be better for a Hampton inn. They have a lot of room for improvement! The location is great, very central.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our memorial day visit to DC. We arrived very early on a Friday morning, we went right to the hotel expecting to leave our bags while we headed out to see some sights. The man working the front desk was so friendly he said they had rooms ready and would check to see if ours was. We actually booked the suite which was the only one in the hotel and he said it would be ready in 20 minutes so we sat in the very nice lobby and waited! The room was nice, the a... Read more

The windows in room we initially checked in to looked directly at a brick wall. The hotel was full, but the staff kindly offered to move us to a room with a better view the next day when they had some room openings. We just left our bags packed in the old room, and the staff moved them while we were out. The new room had a better view and was a bit more spacious. Both rooms were nice -- updated and clean. This Hampton is in a great location a few blocks from the White House. The room we had (facing H street) was quiet enough for a urban location, and a nice enough size for a family of four. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the only knock (4 stars instead of 5), was a strange odor in the lobby every night. We mentioned this to the staff, but we never found the cause and it never cleared up, and it did impact our impression since we had to walk through the odor every night.

Shelique at the front desk was very helpful, as was her manager--he and she both went out of their way to be sure everything was right. This hotel has great proximity to the White House and is within walking distance of the larger monuments and things that you want to see. The per-night price was significantly lower than anything else in the area (even comparing facilities far from the downtown core). One great benefit of this locale is that it's an easy place to stop off for a break while sightseeing, especially in the summer when the humidity can wear on you. The continental breakfast would satisfy anyone...waffles, hot food (eggs and sausage), cereal, yogurt, rolls, etc. The room has darkening shades for privacy. We didn't notice much street noise. It was awesome ! Not lots of people. It was a relaxed trip. Nothing hectic. We took our time to sightsee museums. The monument was so majestic. We took public transport the subway map is easy and they have an all day unlimited pass for $14 per person. Seemed relatively safe. We visited the National Zoo and the Air and space auto museum. Nice Hampton property close to White House with friendly staff. The absolute game breaker here is the obnoxious noise from a nightclub located behind this hotel. The excessively loud noise and vibrating bass will keep you up until around 4AM- this is not a joke or exaggeration. Other than not being able to sleep- everything else was very nice.

I booked this hotel based on the location and the high ratings, and was not disappointed. The hotel staff was top notch! Seriously, I felt like I was at a high end hotel. They knew me by name, offered a cold water when I returned from my run, and made me and my daughter both feel welcome. Rooms were maybe a little small, and we did not have a "view". But for the safety, hospitality, crisp/clean/updated room (with fridge) and location, I would DEFINITELY book this one again

The location of this hotel is great for visiting DC. It is a convenient walking distance to all the top sights, the White House, Capital, Smithsonian museums, and memorials. The hotel was nice and clean, the rooms aren't huge, but what I would expect for any big city. Rooms facing the street are noisy, but they do provide ear plugs. Excellent location and accommodations. We were able to walk the entire Mall area from this location; Lafayette Park, White House Visitor Center, Washington Monument, WWII Memorial, Colonial Gardens, Vietnam War Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, MLK Memorial, FDR Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, Fords Theater and then back to the Hampton Inn - approximately 8 miles. We are looking forward to a return trip.

The location of the Hampton Inn is close to the White House, and quick walk to many of the Mall. It's also located right next to a Starbucks, which was a bonus for us. The hotel is updated and clean. The staff were very helpful and always pleasant. Another bonus is the free breakfast - it's got your basics and that's really all we needed to start the day. We did have a noise issue during our stay as they were working on/jack hammering the parking garage next door.

The Hampton Inn in Washington D.C., is probably one of the WORST hotels in the history of hotels. When you walk in, you just see trash everywhere, the people are mean, abusive and overwhelmingly stinky. There are no bedrooms, bathrooms, or front doors(ignore the picture). An OUTRAGE, if you can't have the basic necessities of a hotel like; bedrooms, bathrooms and a front door, your shouldn't be a hotel in the first place, GET IT TOGETHER!!!!!!!!
