We stayed for 3 nights during graduation week at GWU. Check-in was smooth and when we asked for a change of room to one away from the elevator, we were promptly given one. The rooms are quiet, smallish but comfortable. The service was uneven as one day they did not take out the trash or clean the bathroom. However when we called around 9 pm they did send someone to clean the bathroom. The location is excellent as it is a short 10 minute walk to the national mall and the White House. Overa... Read more

This is a typical, comfortable Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in a great location, near George Washington University and just a couple of blocks West of the White House. That makes it convenient to attend that formal gala with the other VIPs on your visit. Everything is great about the hotel. The lobby and restaurant is comfortable and elegant. The Parking is quite expensive. We found it cheaper just to leave our car parked in front of the hotel when we arrived, and have it towed away. We then pa... Read more

My 21 year old son and I were here over the weekend May 21-23. The hotel is just off of 50 and only a few blocks from the mall and White House. Parking is on site and easy. When we arrived, I asked for a room with two doubles but they were out. Even with this request, the front desk was kind enough to comp one room so my son and I each had our own room. The next night we were moved to a double with a nice view of the Lincoln Memorial. That is service. The restaurant staff, valet staf... Read more

Check in was simple and easy, i had downloaded the app and checked in early, the app alerted me our rooms were ready (2 hours before check in). Rooms were clean and spacious. Location is very convenient to sights and restaurants. Staff was helpful and pleasant. The hotel has a pool but it is very small and can become uncomfortable if too many people are present. There is also a restaurant/bar in the lobby that could use more options on the food menu. Food options on the menu were also not availa... Read more

We stayed for 4 days at the at the Marriott in Foggy Bottom. It was a lovely experience. Great service and all staff was very hospitable. We also ate there for breakfast. Good breakfast - Also I would recommend to eat dinner at the hotel. The food was very good and the service excellent. The chef (Antonio) came out and asked if everything was all right. We told him the dinner was very good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Great location and outstanding staff with special mention to Alber in the Bistro who served us a late night meal with style and care -- wish there were more hotels who had employees like him!!! In addition there was a manager by the name of Mike who was always near the front reception and had a warm smile and very helpful hints for us and other guests Our room was spacious, clean and light and we thought the hotel compared favorably with many more expensive establishments.

Stayed four nights in two connecting rooms. Very helpful, friendly staff. Would like to highlight Frank at the front desk for exceptional service. Very quiet, comfortable rooms. The location could not be better. Walking distance to the White House, the Mall, a Metro station, and numerous restaurants. Very safe neighborhood around George Washington University. Our new place to stay while in Washington.

I recently stayed here for one week along with several other women for our annual convention. The location is amazing - a close walk to everything, yet very quiet and peaceful. We experienced a little mix-up with one of our rooms but the staff bent over backwards to correct the issue as quickly as possible. The room was spacious and clean. Contrary to other reviews, I never had problems with road noise; the room overlooked the front entrance. I appreciated having a small refrigerator to keep lun... Read more

We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of an East coast trip (family of 4 adults) and could not have asked for a better place. The staff on reception were cheerful and welcoming. My husband, two kids & myself stayed here two nights for the 4th of July celebrations. The location is fabulous, close to the museums and some monuments. The Lincoln Memorial is close and this is where we watched the fireworks, awesome view point! If you're wanting food we had to walk about 4 blocks. We ate at Bertucci's (Italian Pizzeria) - pizza was delicious but the wait was terrible! We also ate at the Elephant & Castle (Irish pub) - food & atmosphere was good. There is also a Subway next ... We went there to be the closest to the Lincoln Memorial for the fireworks. Very clean, pleasant staff and veery close to the monuments. Would definitely recommend staying there sans walk about couple of blocks and enjoy the fireworks, the best is when the event is over you have a short walk back to your room.

Everyone who works here smiles and greets you, that is really outstanding. We stayed at the JW Marriot last time and while it's lobby is more fancy, this hotel goes above it with its excellent staff. It was affordable, accessible to many attractions, and very clean. GW is right up the street so there is a lot of great restaurants nearby. The room looks new and modern and the bed was very comfortable. Starbucks is right around the side of the hotel and wasn't even crowded. The area was safe and I... Read more

Alber, the man behind the bar who does it all is pretty amazing. A great location for walking down to the mall and memorials. It's right at GWU, if you need that. Not that bad a walk to the metro, and DC is pretty easy to get around anyway. Rooms are modern and clean; the only telltale signs of age that were not covered up during the makeover are the doorstop on the floor of the bathroom (it has rust) and the light switch feature in the bathroom. Most people won't notice things like that, and for a short stay (I stayed for one night), there were no problems. Unfortunately I can't give it a five-star because the air conditioning / heat vent made an extremely irritating, loud rumbling noise throughout the night. It was enough to wake... Read more
