Nice place. Good downtown location. I felt as though I was in a resort, but in the city. Though all the staff were hospitable, one employee, Aaron Rei-White, was especially courteous and helpful. I'd come back.

I rarely write reviews but I just had to give Capitol Skyline a shout out. They are always accommodating when I come into the city with attentive and thoughtful staff. I met one guy there, Aaron, he's really cool. Made sure me and my guests were taken care of and went above and beyond in the realm of hospitality. That's a rarity. I recommend this hotel to friends I know are making trips out to D.C.

We stayed for 2 nights in early May. The hotel room is large and the lobby looks good. However, this is let down by indifferent customer service at the front desk. The reception team was not able to tell me how much in total I have charged to my room (I bought some snacks and drinks at the "Lobbyist" convenience store), telling me they have no access to the system (sounds very strange to me). When asked about taking the subway to a particular stop, we were given inaccurate answers, and in a very... Read more

Some negatives, a few pluses. Very comfortable bed, clean, contemporary room. However, room lacks a decent chair, view of Capitol marred by deafening highway & road noise- sirens, honking, semis, more sirens, more honking.... No dressers, no hooks in the bathroom, no beverage glasses, no mini fridge. Only ice machine is in THE BASEMENT! No coffee in the spacious lobby. This hotel has taken a lot of shortcuts - lacks most standard amenities.

The Capitol Skyline is a little gem. It's very affordable (for DC prices) and has everything you'd expect- clean rooms, comfy beds, friendly staff, etc. Plus it was recently renovated so everything is looking crisp and well done. Add on top of that the Manager, Jeff, who is exceptionally friendly and helpful and this place has my recommendation. Plus bonus points for being a short walk to the Nats and stunning views of the Capitol Building if you are lucky enough to end up on the front side of ... Read more

The hotel is on a busy street and you hear the traffic all night. One microwave and ice maker in the basement. Both were out of order. Hotel billed the full amount after I told them I was paying with a different card. So they refunded and billed the other. Refund took 4 days so I was in DC with only the cash in my pocket. They offered breakfast one day for the inconvenience. Rooms are decent, breakfast is ok but I would not pay $13.95 for it. Front desk staff including the assistant manager ... Read more

Quiet room, a beautiful window to see the Capitol, let me enjoyed the view around this nice hotel. The location is a short time from the Union Station, and that is a kind of problem to take the public transportation. But you can have other transportation to go out and visit the principal historical places. Good people in the service, at the check-in, to help you, and the breakfast room. I felt safe and relaxed in the Hotel's environment.

The room is very large and the view is great. The bed and pillows were the best I've experienced in a while. I was only in the room to sleep and change clothes, but it was nice and clean with adequate A/C. On the downside, I missed out on breakfast because it wasn't mentioned to me at check-in and I didn't see signs, etc. Its very possible that there was signage and I just overlooked it. A chair in the room would've been nice as well. The space was huge and just seemed to be missing some... Read more

Good hotel, room was clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Manager greeted us multiple times and asked us about our stay. Only draw-back for some people may be the summer pool party on the weekends at this hotel. People not staying at the hotel can pay admission on the weekends and use the pool, buy drinks, and they have a DJ. This goes on from around noon until 9PM. SO if you want a quiet weekend during the summer it will not happen during this time of the day. Othe... Read more

No room service, no fridge/microwave in room, no on-demand movies, no luggage carts (?!?), restaurant closed for lunch and dinner. The super hard mattress and over-stuffed pillows gave my husband and I sore backs and a stiff neck. The hotel has a publicly advertised pool party program which is unfortunate for the hotel guests as it crowds the pool area with dozens of local singles. We were there for the Memorial Day weekend and my husband refused to use the crowded pool area due to this. We we... Read more

While the room was very clean, some basic things were missing, especially from the bathroom. There were no hooks for towels, no hair dryer, and no fan in the bathroom. Thankfully, I brought my own, but a hair dryer is pretty standard. Our tv also didn't work. We couldn't get any stations to come in. We didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel room, so it wasn't a huge deal, but again, disappointing. We were also disappointed that we were never able to enjoy the pool while we were there. Su... Everything was wonderful! When we checked in, the associates were friendly and helpful. They greeted us each time we left and came back. It is in walking distance to the mall, but a longer walk. There were taxis available every time we walked out the door. Our room was clean and well taken care of. There could have been a little more lighting in the bathroom, but it was big enough for 2 people to use the vanity area to get ready. Nice light in the room overlooking the pool. My daughter and I arrived on a Friday...everything seemed fine...enjoyed D.C. during the day, came back to the hotel late afternoon and went to the pool..only to be told to the pool area at 9:00. Then we could not even access the pool Saturday or Sunday because of pool parties. What a disappointment..The hotel is nice but I don't feel like they cater to their guests.

Front office manager Aaron Rei-White could not have been more helpful during our stay. He genuinely cares about the guests and made our stay one of the most pleasant we have ever experienced. Also, Chris at the garage was very polite and often goes above and beyond the call of duty. This was our first stay at Capitol Skyline Hotel. Future visits to DC will most certainly include this hotel.

We made a very last minute booking at the Capital Skyline Hotel and was able to get two rooms on 4th of July weekend...and we enjoyed our stay in a nice, cool A/C room with super comfortable beds. I needed a great night of sleep after an international flight and this hotel exceeded our expectations. The front counter folks were awesome, helpful, kind, and I just am so HAPPY that we were able to stay here!

We reserved our room through booking.com. Upon check-in we discovered that we were put in a room with a king bed with a spectacular view of the Capitol, which would not work for us due to the number of guests we had (two adults, two children). The front desk immediately rectified the mistake and moved us to a room with two beds, but unfortunately we lost our view. We were also told that we would have to pay nightly for parking but once we showed the receptionist our confirmation email she wave... Read more

A shout out to Aaron Re-White for helping us out with parking for a Nationals game and a chance to see the property. What a find. This is a terrific property if you are going to a game and what to stay nearby the park. Easy 3 block walk to the games. The property is clean and updated. The staff is cordial and on the ball with helping you out with your stay and finding things to do in DC. Well worth the time to see as a place to stay for baseball or tourism

Hotel is good. Has good amenities. Close to Washington National stadium (10 min walk). No odor. My room was clean. Had a nice park in front. Took Uber Pool all around Washngton for about 4-6 dollars each way. Hotel was kept in good condition. The restaurant downstairs was also nice. The pool was nice but too crowed over the weekends as people from around seems to use it as well.

Stayed in this hotel for a holiday with my daughter and had a great time. The staff were friendly and accommodating especially Gina and Julian. The room was big and kept clean. The hotel provides free shuttle service to tourist destinations around the National Mall which was great. the location is also near the Metro and Union station so you won't spend much on taxi. BTW, I recommend that you try out their grilled salmon from the Poolside Bar & Grille. it's a steal for ~$14.

The old saying, "you get what you pay for" goes with this hotel. GREAT location, as far as being within a mile of things to do and the price looked great too, until I got billed $35 a day for parking. I didn't see that coming. There are 2 working elevators, but one was out during my stay. The big problem with that is the stairs ONLY lead to the outside. You can't take the stairs from the lobby, so you had a LONG wait. The hotel is close to downtown and the staff was very helpful with our maps and information on subway and everything DC. Easy walking distance to the Navy Yard Metro and after a long day the pool was nice. Will stay here again. The only sketchy part was the 7-11 gas station walking back at night from the metro, so we chose another route back to the hotel but we stopped in there twice and everything was fine. Just people standing around outside was uneasy.
