Stayed in this hotel for five days and have to say it was a really good experience. Staff is absolutely kind and solve all your doubts and questions. Rooms are spacious and clean (they also have a tiny coffee maker and mini fridge, yet no micro wave) but the elevator is so old that sometimes I felt scared of getting trapped in it. Location is outstanding if you want to visit the main DC attractions as many of them are walking distance and the metro station is literally 10 steps outside the hotel... Read more

Staff was very friendly and accomodating. The valets out front were amazing. They knew all of the uber drivers and could give reviews in the good and bad ones. The only bad thing I would say is that if you valet park, it does take quite awhile to get your car- 40 minutes for me. So call way ahead.

We stayed here over Memorial Day weekend and it was perfect. Got a great rate, which included wifi, through the Marriott site. Metro Center station is steps from the front door and on the blue line from National airport. 3 blocks from the White House and an easy walk down to the Mall. Several family/wallet friendly restaurants (McDonald's, Subway, Panera) close by and a Starbucks off the lobby.

We were here over Memorial Weekend 2016. Could not have asked for a better experience. Everyone went out of their way to make our family comfortable. Any thing we needed they took care of. If you go talk to Shria at the front desk. Marriott is lucky to have her. Our room was great. The food in the hotel is excellent. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Overall the hotel was very good. Room was spacious and clean. All the employees were very friendly and courteous. The room price was pretty good. The best thing was the location. Obviously as the name suggest the metro was right there but was an easy walk to the mall, museums, and Chinatown. Two drawbacks - the charge for the wifi and the valet parking. Wifi was an extra charge. Valet parking was $47 a day. There was plenty of parking at a lower price within walking distance. I was try a... Read more

We had a very nice experience staying here four nights. The staff was very welcoming. The rooms are spacious with good mattresses. The location is good...only a few blocks from Lafayette Park and the White House. Steps from the Metro Center if you are taking the subway. Short distance from a Walgreens. I like staying in this part of DC. We didn't have a car, so parking was not an issue. Did not try the pool, so no comments about that. I think that small refrigerators should come standard in the ... We used the Supershuttle to get there and was not very expensive. The hotel is clean, decor is nice. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I loved the view from my hotel. The room was comfortable, well-appointed, and extremely clean; hotel personnel were unfailingly courteous and helpful. I didn??t eat in the restaurant, but buffet breakfasts and lunches were provided at the meeting, and the food was very good. A big plus: The Marriott has a great location. We stayed 24 hours when we visited DC for a concert. The hotel was great! The room was very clean, the beds were quite comfortable, bedding was nice. Amenities were excellent. All staff were extremely kind. Would stay here again. Our room was on the front and it may have been a bit noisy (from the road) for some, so if you might be sensitive to that ask for a quieter room.

This hotel has a Metro stop on the same block and is just a 10 minute walk to the Museum of American History and the Museum of Natural History. The rooms were comfortable and clean and there was a Starbuck's in the lobby. I was on business but brought my teenage son along. He was able to go to the museums easily on his own and had a great time. The staff was great and made a point to remember our names and greet us each time we came or went.

You really can't beat the location for this hotel, you are about 5 blocks to the White House about 5 the other way to the National Mall and about 10 blocks to Capitol Hill. The staff here are really helpful, we were always taken care of and they fulfilled our requests when we asked to change rooms due to noisy neighbors. The one down side is the concierge lounge, it's on the small side and the offerings are quite limited. If in DC this is one of your best options.

I have been traveling to DC for the past few months and have to say this restaurant not only has amazing food (especially the Brick Oven Crab Cakes and the Spinach Kale) but the service is the best I have seen in any Marriott. Yodit and Chris at the bar know the menu inside and out, upon telling them I like spicy food, they immediately had three different hot sauces and a delicious Srirache sauce in front of me! I would highly recommend this place for the service and of course the food!

This hotel is conveniently located near the Metro Center subway station and the National Mall where most of the attractions are located (10 min walking distance to the White House). There are plenty of restaurants near the hotel. Valet parking is very expensive (about $55), but you should find it easy to find other affordable parking garages around the area. BTW, there is a Starbucks in the hotel, and we got 3 free drinks by living in this hotel, which is very nice.

Our stay at the Washington Marquis has been very enjoyable. The only negative comments are small bathroom, a worn mattress, PLUS construction outside our window. Great location, right next to the Metro station. Great service too - there was an emergency overnight water outage, and they provided plenty of free bottled water. However, the HVAC fan in the room appeared to be on some sort of motion sensor/timer, and it would shut off when nobody was in the room or at night. This may help save energy, but it led to a stuffy room with a wet-towel smell most of the time which made sleeping quite difficult for a few nights.

This was a great location. Just a few blocks from the mall. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Because it was so close, we didn't have to use the metro during our stay. Breakfast at the hotel was high, but there was a sandwich shop next door that served great breakfast sandwich's on bagels for a very reasonable price. Kids liked the pool area.

I snagged a discounted rate on the Marriott website by prepaying. I was very pleased with this hotel - very spotless, neat, and comfortable. It is on the same block as the main Metro stop, so it is very conveniently located. I would recommend for anyone who wants a central location.

I rarely travel for business. Last night I stayed at this Marriott and was pleasantly surprised at all of the attention and care I received. From the moment I entered the hotel, Joseph (porter) greeted me with such genuine excitement that I was in his city to the front desk staff (who added free wifi to my room after I finally merged my SPG and Marriott accounts) to the concierge, Jessica, who was able to print a document for me my boss needed (and she gave me TWO copies because that's how aweso... The room was clean and spacious. Loved that we could easily walk to the museums and monuments. Restaurants and bars were close by, also within walking distance. We took the metro to George Town, which was really easy from this location. Would stay again.

I can't say enough about how great the staff was at this hotel. The valet crew was very helpful and professional. I was in DC for a conference and they were great. The restaurant has very good sliders. Plenty of places to eat nearby. The metro is down the street. The room was clean. Very nice place to stay.

I was really looking forward to our trip to DC for a family wedding. The bride and groom picked this hotel for their out of towners and the location could not be beat. I had been in contact with the hotel repeatedly requesting for the 2 rooms I reserved to be connecting. They couldn't guarantee the connection, but it did work out and for that I am really grateful. We arrived at the hotel early....around 830am. Again, I had contacted the hotel and advised and pleaded if there could at least b... Read more

A standard offering from Marriott in a central location. You know what the room will look like if you have stayed in any of their US properties. The breakfast offerings are varied that is often not a buffet which really does make a change to have a freshly cooked breakfast. Coffee is dishwater it is so weak. Room service is odd in that everything is packed into take away boxes and delivered with plastic cutlery In a shopping bag. It obviously saves the hotel money on washing up... Read more

This was my first time staying in a Marriott hotel and it was a great experience. I purchased my room online, and signed up for the Marriott Hotel rewards program---best decision ever! Through the rewards program, I was able to get free wifi for my stay (it's normally $12 a night), and check in early by downloading and using the Marriott app. As for the hotel, it was clean and updated. The location is what really makes this hotel great. There is a metro station (Metro Center) right at the end of... Read more

We find the Marriott chain to be very consistent in the delivery of a quality product and this one does not disappoint. It is close to the middle of DC, it has a Metro stop right outside the door, there is a Starbucks inside and the rooms and service are a consistent Marriott quality product. Rooms were good size for a metro hotel and room services were excellent. As always the restaurants in a hotel can be a bit of a rip off on certain items but their Happy Hour is a bargain for a hotel. The service at this hotel was excellent, from the parking valets, to the front desk, servers at the restaurant, and housekeeping were all top notch! This is a busy hotel, large and in a busy central location. I have stayed at large busy hotels in the past, and niceties tend to fall by the wayside. Not here. Room was very clean, if you want your windows open, just call down and ask. I like fresh air, even if its noisey outside. Parking is 55$ a day. Become a Marriott member and wi fi is free.

The staff is not nearly as nice as I'd like, but the hotel is in a great location, right off the metro. Within walking distance to chinatown (less than half mile), Verizon Center and the White House (5 blocks). BEST location for the price.

I m a Marriott frequent user, so I would say that this hotel , once more, keeps up with Marriott standard. Iincluding the lounge that, despite its reduced size, offers what you would expect, specially for breakfast. The tiny croissants are excellent. Guess though that some actions have to be taken for the tub, too low and of a limited capacity, in which you cannot have a bath unless you wanna spill all the water over. TV set is small and offers only few digital channels, many analog channels dis... Read more

Arrived about 1:00 pm and pulled up to the front door which does not have a lot of space. I valet parked ($49 or so per night extra) and checked in. The lobby and rooms are very nice. The room is large and the beds are firm. The HVAC system was quite noisy and sounded like the building was having indigestion- all night long. I also found several live cockroaches, killed them and left them in the sink with a note (I did not eat in the room). Two species of roaches were present being German and A... Read more

We spent 5 days at this hotel. It is at the center of everything. It is walking distance to museums, great food and shopping. The staff and service is excellent. Even though there may be newer or more upscale places, this is great. We will stay here again if we visit DC. The resturant is just adequate but there are so many excellent places to eat nearby, it was no issue at all.

I was expecting to stay in an old, dated hotel but was pleasantly surprised to find it updated. The bell men (and they were all men) greeted us warmly every single time we left or arrived back at the hotel over a period of 5 days. That made such a difference. The rest of the staff were helpful, caring and efficient as are most of the Marriott staff worldwide. The hotel is in a great location and if you know to exit from the metro at 12th and G it is only about 20 yards to the hotel and Macy's is... Read more

We chose this hotel because of its location. We didn't want the bother of a rental car. Although we're not the most aggressive walkers, we do enjoy the freedom of it. This location allowed us to easily walk to restaurants and monuments. The hotel was clean and well-appointed. There was a Starbucks and a lively bar with good food. We had drinks a couple of evenings and food one night. Food and drinks were good. We liked the area and would stay there again.

This hotel is in the center of the many sites in downtown Washington DC. Just an 11 minute walk from The White House. Down the street and around the corner from Madamme Toussaint's Wax Museum. Down the street from the Wax Museum is The Ford Theatre and going in the opposite direction is Chinatown. There are restaurants and so much more within a short walking distance from this hotel. I always read Trip Advisor reviews before booking a hotel where I've not stayed before The reviews for The Metro Center Marriott were very good What I can't imagine is how the handful of poor reviews could possibly have been written. Some people are chronic complainers I guess. The facility is perfectly located a half block from the Metro and walking distance or a short metro trip to almost everywhere in DC. The staff was unfailingly courteous and accomodating and my room spotlessly clean The... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for a short stay in D.C. because it was very well priced and located. The rooms were modern and very clean. The hotel is just a few blocks away from the White House, the Washington Monument, and the rest of the National Mall. It also sits in the middle of the downtown area that has a good amount of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. There's a Starbucks and a decent hotel bar/restaurant in the lobby. I will definitely stay at this same hotel on my next visit to D.C.

If you're looking for a centrally located hotel with fabulous access to the Metro, this hotel is an excellent choice. Rooms are nice, hallways relatively quiet, decent Wi-Fi connections, and fluffy towels. If you're looking for a hotel that makes you feel like a welcomed guest, or desk clerks that smile -- keep looking because this isn't the hotel for you. Nobody was rude, they just pretty much ignored you. The only person who actually greeted me and smiled was the doorman. The front desk cl... Read more

Everyone at this hotel is helpful but the conscierge, front desk and bellmen are amazing and very friendly and accommodating. It's a very good location with many things in walking distance around the hotel. Park your car and don't worry about it. The hotel does have in and out valet parking but it's a bit pricey so choose one of the other options within a block or two if you don't need the in and out services. Many in our group used the public parking across the street.

Wonderful experience at the hotel. The location was ideal, price was reasonable and room was clean. Highly recommend staying there. Bonus is that there is a Walgreen's 2 blocks away, so easy to run and pick up anything you forgot, or snacks for the kids. Brought a bathing suit but didn't get a chance to use it because we were so busy exploring the city. Staff was also really nice, and informative.

This hotel is 4 blocks from the White house, a few more to the great National Gallery West Wing and close to the wonderful American Art gallery. The room was large and comfortable. We had breakfasts and another meal in the hotel restaurant which was also pleasant with rapid service. I would still go back to the Grand Hyatt first, but if it is unavailable, this is a good alternative. The Metro entrance is just a few steps from the hotel entrance - could not be more convenient.
