I attended a work meeting at this hotel. Meeting room was fine; finishes were very nice. As the place had just opened, it still had that 'new car' smell. That might explain why the wifi wasn't available. The main let-down was the restroom. No partitions between urinals - and no automatic faucets. That's not "luxury" in my book.

This hotel mixes Liberace with expensive but with no taste from the moment you walk in., faux gold everywhere, with pimpy red velvet. In addition the bed was uncomfortable. Everything in the room was cheap and tacky, down to the lamps, tables and bathroom amenities. Wifi din't work, and room service food was cold. Was supposed to meet a client there and decided that garish mixage reflected poorly on me so moved meeting.

Not saying that because of politics! Overpriced, gaudy decor and just a stench of snobbery even in DC. Don't waste your money or time staying here. The JW is just a block away and 10x better and so many more to choose from!

Stayed here on a business trip last week just to see what the hype was all about. The decor is horribly tacky... gold paint and tassels everywhere. Still construction going on throughout the hotel. I thought it was supposed to be complete. And there was no shampoo in the room... only body wash.

Checked into my room over the weekend, only to find human excrement left in the shower. Welcome to DC! It took almost an hour for housecleaning to come rectify the situation. After that, I had a hard time overlooking the hotels other flaws. Cheap uncomfortable sheets, lumpy mattress and the smell of cigarette smoking wafting through the hotel ventilation. Send your money elsewhere if you are a discerning customer.

As a writer/photographer with a professional interest in historic preservation, I was eager to see how the wonderful Old Post Office building‚??a first-rate example of Romanesque Revival architecture‚?? had been re-purposed as a hotel. Even though I was able to get a room on Priceline for less than half the rack rate, I was disappointed. The gaudy new decor of the hotel has no respect for the historic architecture; it's so over the top that some may suspect it was done by Viktor Yanukovych's per... Read more

Every cubic inch of our room was white-glove perfect. It's obvious Trump staff dedicate to our enjoyment (cleanliness, ASAP service, kindly demeanor) - so show appreciation with a respectable tip. We loved the decor, which shows real DC pride. Ho-hum we can get at home. I loved just sitting with a coffee or MacCallans 21 yr old neat, in the public spaces, just to soak up the architecture, interior design, and even the hilarious faces of all the politicians walking by - terrified they might lo... We visited Washington DC for the first time. Our vacation brought us to the city twice in one week. Prior to staying at the Trump we spent two nights at a five-star historic hotel, so we had fairly high expectations when we came back three days later and stayed at the Trump. We were advised on booking that the property was in a soft opening so we expected a glitch or two. Not so. The service was top notch. From the moment we arrived it was white-glove treatment. Stay at the Willard, it is much nicer! Hotel overall is unimpressive and did not have a welcoming feeling. For the prices of the rooms you can get a much nicer room at a three or four star hotel in a much more convenient location. As for the location downtown is mostly deserted on weekends and you will have to travel several blocks for nightlife, dining and entertainment.

The newly opened hotel is beautiful and Trump did not spare an expense in decor, BUT the service level so far has been very disappointing. Trump should have delayed its grand opening until the staff was better trained. The guest reception at my arrival and at the front desk was not great. The valet staff even recognized me as a returning guest, which was not easy. Atmosphere in the hotel lounge/restaurant area is surprisingly comfortable and I will absolutely return. I arrived in Washington, DC for a business meeting, planning to stay only one night. However, the elegance and charm of the hotel beckoned me to stay one more night. The bed was irresistibly comfortable and I truly don't remember when I slept better. Upon that heavenly cloud of white sheets and pillows, I slept so, so deeply. The food was also heavenly - breakfast was swerved with a white rose. From the room service menu, I recommend the Avocado Toast, Organic Vegan Green Salad and Organic Veg... Read more

We stayed one night for an anniversary trip. The hotel itself is just beautiful. The staff are knowledgeable about the history of it and seem to enjoy talking about it. Our room was amazing and the bed was so comfortable. After coming in later in the evening, we sat at the bar area for some drinks. The crowd was such a diverse group. There were people in sweats, sports jerseys, suits, tuxes, and evening gowns. The staff treated everyone in the same gracious way. We will definitely return i... Read more

I spent well over $700 for one night's stay and 90 minutes in the bar. The hotel's decor is ludicrously over the top. It's as though it's a Disney-imagined European setting for a spy movie. So gaudy as to be repulsive. Worse, though, especially given the price of the room, is the smarmy service from the front desk to the concierge, to the bar's waitstaff. They seem to have been trained to treat guests as not quite important or wealthy enough to be welcome there. The front desk check-in was... Read more

The interior is impressive. The wall of crystal decanters is stunning. The structural work is exposed and looks like it was quite a project. The service was disappointing. Perhaps the staff is awaiting their cabinet appointments and didn't expect to have to serve losers who voted for Clinton. The martinis, when they arrived were chilled and dry--exactly as we like them. Water took an exceptionally long time even though there were pitchers lined up on the service counter. Worth a repeat tr... Read more

The place is gorgeous and I could not have been more warmly welcomed by the doormen. We Washingtonians are always looking for great spots to gather with friends and colleagues after our long days. And we're not put off by high prices for a top notch experience. Thus, our disappointment that a recent evening in the Benjamin was not up to par. Not even close. The service was incredibly slow. Our glasses were empty and the server was nowhere to be found. When he did show up, he had zero pers... Read more

Most magnificent hotel I ever stayed in DC. Complete luxury. Protests outside, hard to enter and exit. Metal detectors. We were on tight schedule for our 2 day stay had to factor in 15-20 minute delay entering and exiting hotel. Our stay was during the election. Our next visit to DC is during inauguration. We will not be staying at this property.

From the Door Men to housekeeping...I felt welcomed...Decor is second to none. I like the Kohler plumbing fixtures as they are American and from the heartland. Gym is outstanding. The hotel is pricey but an outstanding overall value when considering the level of service and gorgeous design and amenities...even the in-room phone system was well thought out.

The hotel is beautiful. Staff very well orientated to customers. VERY classy, there were some protesters but no worries security out front whixh did not discourage us from going. The protesters acted stupid had no idea what they even protesting about. The view up top amazing. We had bag rip from souvenirs from capital the front desk lady was nice and gave us a bag for our souvenirs, she didn't act rude she was extremely nice.so, i recommend this place.

Don't believe the hype. Horrible experience. Rooms were terrible. We checked out early and stayed at the Four Seasons. They know good service and class. Trump properties have no class and terrible service.

From the moment you leave your car until departure the service is beyond excellent. The attention to detail to make your stay an unforgettable experience is consistent and authentic. As an example, I was attending an executive women's forum and some of the attendees joined me for cocktails before the event; pro - actively Philip walked over to our group and offered the house car for us - he had remembered not only my name but several of my guests. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

Had to be in Washington DC on short notice. Hay Adams, Four Seasons and the Jefferson booked solid. My secretary contacted Trump International. Got an Ivanka Suite at 50% off the listed rate. Interesting lobby....sort of a Jackson Pollack, MC Esher redo of some classic architecture. And the chandeliers hanging from the steal beams....good gawd...who thought of this. Tourists in shorts and fanny packs gawking and trying to five finger discount a coaster or swizzle stick, emblazoned with a "T" I ... Read more

Exquisite hotel! Will become DCs best hotel for sure. The grand lobby, the sweeping corridors and large gorgeous rooms are a treat. I stayed there for 3 nights and loved it. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I did experience service delays in the lobby and room service, and the advertised special personal concierge service did not actually answer. Despite this - I still give it full marks as it is such a wonderful setting that even hiccoughs like these could not take away from the sheer lu... Read more

I stayed for a week in this hotel as a last minute stay for work and this was the only hotel that had rooms left. Now I know why. The hotel itself looks so much nicer in the photos. It's very cheaply furnished and screams"cheesy". It looks like that cheap Medieval Times dinner theater that people used to go to in the 80's. I could probably get past the decor if the rooms were comfortable or if the service was good, but it was neither. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, I don't know if i... Read more

There are some unique architectural features, however, on a value index this is only for people with money to burn. I felt sadly for the staff who seemed to be under pressure constantly by supervisors and the supervisors of supervisors. Still they mustered constant faint smiles. Location is smack in the middle of the D.C. area, but on previous visits the Hey Adams and the Willard offered a more delightful stay at a more realistic price.

The Trump International is much you what you would expect of a Trump property. The decor could be considered "high bordello." The scale is large and has a Vegas feel - you find yourself looking for slot machines in the lobby. That said the bones of this old building are beautiful so the rooms are large and ceilings high. I stayed a few times a few weeks after opening so lots of kinks being worked out (fire alarm in the middle of the night), but they did their best. Room service menu is somewhat ... Read more

While I have not stayed at the Hotel I have visited and eaten here many times. The lobby is large and expansive and the renovation definitely is an improvement of the dilapidated old lobby area. The main entrance is off of Pennsylvania and that's really the only place to drop your car. There is no self parking on premise and the Valet is on the high side. There are doormen at all times and they greet you and open the doors for all guests. I have eaten at the bar a couple times and eaten at BLT P... Read more

The hotel was absolutely beautiful! The attention from the staff was amazing. From the time you arrived to the time you left. The location is perfect. Quick walk to dining and shopping. You are close to the White House and right in the middle of the Washington Mall. Quick walk in either direction to see all the sights of DC. Definitely would recommend staying here!

From the bellman, housekeeping, guest services, restaurant staff....all professional, friendly and extremely accomodating. THIS REVIEW IS OF THE LOBBY AREA ONLY! We stopped by this newest of Trump's hotels in DC to see what the buzz was about (beside the fact that it belongs to our next president!) and I must admit, it looks very nice. The building used to house the Old Post Office Pavillon in the nation's capital and as such it is listed as an historic building and still under the control of the U.S. Authority. It was leased to Donald Trump by the GSA (General Services Administration) for 60 years and a total cos... Read more

Trump Int Hotel is not worth spending your $ on. There are so many better hotels in the area. A friend of mine booked a room and asked me if I wanted to venture to DC for the weekend. I took her up on the offer thinking it would be great. Boy was I wrong. The building itself is beautiful but there is a cheapness in the decor that doesn't bode well with the price one pays. The service was spotty and a bit slow. I recommend elsewhere.

This gorgeous historic building has been elegantly transformed into one of the finest hotels I've ever experienced. Each member of the staff polite and professional. The lobby is beautifully decorated. The lobby is expansive but warm despite its grand size. The rooms are breathtaking, perfectly appointed. I love that they have steamers rather than irons! (They will give you an iron upon request or iron for you.) This will be my go to hotel for DC. Can't wait to return!

We were walking along Pennsylvania Ave on the way to the new African American Museum and noticed people on the hotel steps. They said it was open and we decided to go in.
