Here on business. Staff were exceptional on valet, bar, dining, housekeeping. Absolutely top notch. My complaint would be the bed was not comfortable and the noise was constant. Between the street sounds which I don't blame the hotel for that, but the doors slamming and some thunking sound that went on repetively all night on both nights we were there made sleeping difficult. Great location for sightseeing and shopping.

My friend and I took a tour of the city in the pouring rain and finally had enough of being drenched outside and decided to go to a high tea. After calling every luxury hotel in Washington we discovered only the St Regis had high tea on that afternoon. It turned out to be a wonderful idea. The hotel is gorgeous and the service was exceptional. It was a perfect relaxing way to end a very hectic touring day. After a week long family vacation we needed some alone time . Although we were only there for two nights we really loved it . Beautiful hotel , amazing staff , breakfast was incredible and the sabering of the champagne ritual was pretty cool . The bathroom is a little small and we didn't have a view from our room but that doesn't really bother me when you are sight seeing all day long anyway. We borrowed the hotel bikes and did our own tour of the city , it was lovely . Highly recommend and woul... Read more

Came down from NYC for an overnight in DC for a concert at the Kennedy Center. We decided to redeem Starwood points and stay at the St. Regis (a comparative deal!). From the moment of arrival at the portico, where we were greeted like old friends by the bellman, to the moment we left to warm goodbyes, our stay felt like stepping back to an age where people attributed great worth to creating an experience of hospitality. my husband and i stayed for two nights recently. the only reason we "chose" this hotel was because some friends we were traveling with had a free room through their starwood points. at first i wasn't too happy about having to pay for a room priced significantly higher than we normally like to pay, but once i arrived, i realized it is worth the splurge. i did get a lower rate when i called the hotel directly and asked for a aaa rate. this was cheaper than the internet rates. checkin- we arri... I've stayed at the St. Regis in DC 3 times, most recently in Spring 2013. For that stay, I was in a Caroline Astor Suite. The St. Regis DC is in a gorgeous historic building, and has decor that reflects its vintage nature. I liked the suite, in particular the bathroom which featured an excellent bathtub for a great soak, which is not offered in many quest rooms. The service is attentive but unobtrusive, and the staff I have encountered are both personable and professional. A few drawbacks: 1. d... Read more

Nice location, lovely service from all the different people working over there except for a German lady named jasmine in the front desk, personally I did not like her attitude, when I asked for a late check out at 6:00 pm she did not even consider it, although I am eligible to stay till 4:00 pm (as a platinum Spg member) with the normal rate, so she considered the 2 extra hours as a full night! This was a genuinely pleasant stay. What the DC St. Regis does so well is what so many of its peers forget - that the hospitality business is about the relationship between the host and the guest. There is the delicate, exquisite line between the friendly and the professional and this hotel walks it with self-aware elegance. Perhaps other places have larger rooms or better gyms/swimming pools but the little touches make all the difference for me. This hotel realizes that it does not have to be s... Read more

This is not a hotel I would have ordinarily chosen, we usually prefer a hotel with a gym and pool, but we were in town for a wedding with our son and his wife and they chose and paid for this hotel. We had a suite, which had no view, a bathroom that needs updating with a comfort heigh commode, a railing, and clothes hook in the toilet stall, but lovely furnishings and a thoughtful compliment of toiletries. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well. The service is impeccable. The ... Read more

I was really excited to stay at the St. Regis in Washington DC after my first stay at the beautiful St. Regis in Princeville. I was disappointed with this stay and won't stay here again. The positive points are the location and the lobby. The lobby is absolutely stunning. The bar is very nice and upscale too. But the 5-star quality stops there. My room was outdated, dark and had a musty smell to it. The bed was as hard as a rock and I requested a duvet to sleep on top of because I could... Read more

We were looking forward to tea at the St. Regis, but we were overly optimistic that this vaulted brand would exhibit its noted excellence in its afternoon tea. Instead, we were served tea in a busy and noisy lobby on a table lower than the seats. The sandwiches were sparse and the cucumber had ice chips, although the pastries were fine and the scones were good. We were disappointed to learn that we would be charged for a couple of extra tea sandwiches-complimentary in all other teas we have e... Read more

My husband and I spent a week at this hotel and were really pleased with the luxury of the hotel and the excellent food, and especially with the service! From the friendly doormen to the attentive wait staff to the wonderful concierges, we felt welcomed and well-attended. We especially appreciated JF, our favorite concierge (and all of the concierges ) for their right- on restaurant and sightseeing recommendations...they made our visit to the nation's Capitol very special!

We were in DC for a convention and stayed at the St Regis. Walking distance to everything! The only time I got a cab was to visit Georgetown. 2 blocks to the White House and a leisure walk to the National Mall. Excellent 4 and 5star restaurants within walking distance too! The hotel has a gorgeous lobby. They offer free champagne at 6pm to guests. We didn't see our butler during our 6 day stay. Very different from the New York St Regis! Service was good though. Staff was very nice and helpful. G... Read more

As repeat visitors here we were not disappointed by the standards that we found in our first time to this beautiful hotel. The lobby furniture has been replaced since we were here not too long ago and it is very special. We saw 2 weddings (receptions) taking place at the venue while we were there which added a good deal of excitement and fun to the energy, not hat it was lacking.

As we only had 4 nights in Washington DC, we wanted something central and classy. We hit the jackpot. From lovely Michelle, the concierge, to Casey, our favourite breakfast host, we couldn't fault it. Except .... we love tea making facilities in our room so we can have a cup before bed. There is no kettle or cups to make a coffee or tea. Also, if you are elderly or an invalid, you wouldn't be able to get in and out of the shower as there is a 90 cm drop to get out. There is a rail to hold on t... Read more

My sister and I stayed here for a week recently. The location is great but what impressed us most was the level of service. Our room on the 6th floor looked out onto the street, and though it wasn't particularly large it was very comfortable, clean, light and quiet. The bathroom was surprisingly small, no bath but the shower was quite spacious - though a handle in the shower would have been helpful for the older guest! But what made the St Regis special was the staff, welcoming, courteous, f... Read more

Excellent service, great location on 16th st about 4 blocks north of the White House. Very surprised at how quiet our room was. Although it was facing 16th St we heard no street traffic. The concierge staff was very helpful both before our arrival and during our stay. The staff in the restaurant, the bar, the front door, reception desk and housekeeping were very pleasant and very responsive. The hotel is a bit pricey but with American Express platinum card the fourth night was "free", breakfast w... To the point: This property was the perfect downtown location for my trip. Two blocks from the white house and a 20min walk/6 min cab ride to the convention center. An essential Starbucks across the street. Tons of restaurants and bars nearby. Everything was just a short cab ride away when I didn't want to walk. The king room was a tad bit small, yet very clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. The butler service was nice for anything I needed or forgot at home. I was always working ... Read more

I stayed here for a long weekend for work, leisure purposes and was not disappointed. The service from beginning to end was top-notch. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and very well-appointed. The room was beautiful with exquisite linens, bath products, and great electronics. One of the most important features was the super comfortable bed, which provided excellent sleeps. I ordered room service twice and was impressed with the speed, service, and great quality menu. The hotel is in a good, safe... Read more

Oh my, the St Regis DC is a superb hotel, from reception through to departure, nothing too much trouble. Situated two blocks from the White House, it is close to the action. Definitely stay there if your budget permits.

The St. Regis in DC is a lovely hotel with great service. The rooms are very nice and well maintained, although a bit on the small side. No gym currently on premises which is unfortunate. The food is very good albeit quite expensive. Beds are extremely comfy, bathrooms very nice. Suites are large and luxurious. Great location.

Positive The service in this hotel is impeccable! All of the employees go out of the way for your requests. The location is within a two minute walk to the White House. The lobby is gorgeous! Negative The lobby is over perfumed and the room we stayed in was small. Also, when we visited, the restaurant was being renovated.

My husband booked the hotel as a treat for our wedding anniversary and my birthday. We couldn‚??t afford this hotel normally so I was very excited for our special romantic last night in DC. The hotel is lovely from the outside and the reception area is very traditional, beautifully done and not to massive which I love. The first thing we noticed was the restaurant was closed due to refurbishment. I was very disappointed at this for a number of reasons, we wanted to have dinner here to celebrate,... Read more
