We stayed there for four nights recently. Our room was pristine and quiet after long days of sightseeing. The staff was most helpful, professional and friendly. I would recommend this hotel highly. Also close to public transportation if so desired. And Georgetown is a fantastic escape from noisy downtown D.C., but still easily accessible to the great sights.

I have been to DC several times for work but this was for vacation. This is a gorgeous hotel in a perfect location. Their staff is so helpful and kind. Most out-of-town travelers looking for a deal will stay closer to the airport and rent a car. Don‚??t Do it! There is no place to park in DC. Spend the money to be closer. We worked the numbers, the time and cost of using taxis were far less. It was great to just hang out there after a long day of running around. Also, if you have a special die... Read more

The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Cold fruit flavored water in lobby was a refreshing treat. The elegant compact nature of the hotel and the location made it convenient to go from front door to hotel room. For a light snack there is a cafe next door. Friendly bar crowd.

Rooms are nice, but....Internet service is horribly slow. Bathrooms are generally nice, but lack anyplace to hang towel and ours had disconcerting stains on the floor. Staff is friendly, but easily confused. We had significant difficulty valeting our car upon arrival and getting intelligent directions. Location is great for visiting GWU.

Lovely hotel with luxurious rooms. My room was 6 floors up and so quiet. No street noise or noise from surrounding rooms. Dined in hotel one night, very good food. Room was spacious with large closet and bath. Small frig too! Walking distance to many restaurants.

Title says it all - this is a great hotel - everyone in the lobby was so friendly, room was larger than expected (we had a 1 bedroom king suite with a living area and dining area). Rooms were clean and quiet. Some street noise but nothing that kept us awake. Could not hear other guests on hall at all, which was great. Location is very walkable to Georgetown, GWU, biz district, and close to Foggy Bottom Metro if needed. We would stay here again!

I never write hotel reviews, but the service and treatment I received at the Melrose really made me believe that good service will, in a genuine way, make the customer want to do anything. I read the good reviews on the Melrose Georgetown two months ago after wanting to plan a "honey moon" trip with my girlfriend. It was both our birthdays (our birthdays are 10 days apart) this week, so we wanted to really pamper ourselves. We first looked at Ebates.com, and noticed that the Melrose not only h... Read more

Stayed here for a weekend trip and loved the location. I used to live in DC so I'm super familiar with the area. I love how close the hotel is to Georgetown and the metro (walking distance), and how easy it was to get into and out of the hotel by car. Staff was super friendly and courteous, and I thought the room had all of the right amenities. My husband and I also slept well in the bed, which is always a big plus because we both have back issues.

This hotel is in an ideal location for people visiting Washington that want to explore the White House and other historic sites and also for business people who need to use conference facilities. The bedroom we stayed in was large, clean and comfortable, though perhaps a little dated. The staff were very friendly and professional and the reception area had plenty of comfortable seating. There was a good choice of menu in the Jardenea Restaurant and the food was excellent. I chose the sea bas... Read more

They promised a very quiet room away from street noise, etc. --but when I entered the room, I realized it was directly above the employee entrance, with a banging, heavy metal door slamming every few minutes. I was astounded that in a city with so many foreign visitors, room service was unavailable before 7am, which will be a problem for those arriving from different time zones. I must say the staff is very patient and commited to good service, and the rooms are a good size. Over all, howeve... Read more

We only needed a hotel for one night before our flight left. The staff at the Melrose made sure to make it a great last night for us. Katherine at the front desk is just wonderful and extremely helpful. The hotel is is good shape, but the real prize is the staff. The bartender downstairs provided us with perfectly mixed drinks and entertaining conversation. The hotel had a comfortable bed, a clean bathroom, and delicious morning room service. But the hotel was to expensive for what you can expect for your money. The location however is next to perfect. I wasn't happy with my room so the did give me another..this time right next to a very noisy elevator! Service from most of the staff was very good but the reception was not at all impressive.

The staff was always on spot and Katherine at the front desk was very helpful with information and recommendations. We will return here when in DC.

I have stayed here before and will stay here again and again. I am so impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the cozy beds! It's so close to GW for visiting my daughter and it's also close to Georgetown. By far one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and by far the most gracious staff I have ever seen.

Stayed at this boutique type hotel for a couple of nights on a business trip. Had a great intimate feel and outstanding staff throughout the hotel. The public areas were comfortable and relaxing with a reasonable selection of drinks and meals. The rooms are a good size with excellent beds. The only minus points were no tea and coffee in the rooms and a shower that only seemed to deliver warm water. I stayed 5 nights with family on vacation. The hotel is conveniently located on Pennsylvania Ave, right between Georgetown (2 blocks) and the White House (about 6 blocks). Safe and quiet area, and close to everything. There is a catholic church right next to the hotel. The hotel seems to have been renovated recently, and has a particularly nice lobby/bar area. I picked this hotel for our 4 night stay in DC after a lot of research, and it was a good choice. Staff friendly, rooms big enough for 3 of us, restaurant food lovely. The only complaint was the room service food after 11pm which was inedible! Restaurant produced excellent food, just a little expensive but worth it. There is easy walking to most of the Washington sights although we tracked up 8 miles with hardly noticing. The air-conditioned temperature was a little cool but there was a mini heatwave outside so that was OK. I chose this hotel from a long, long list provided by Exp... Read more

My family and I were on our way home on a road trip and decided to stay a night in DC. The reviews we read for the Melorose were all great, so we decided to give it a try...and we're so happy we did! The hotel has been very elegantly updated. This is NOT a large chain hotel. It's a lovely boutique hotel with all that goes along with that title. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Katherine at the front desk is so perfectly suited to her job. Stayed here while doing some lobbying. The staff was super nice, there are some good restaurants nearby, and it is a 15 minute walk to the white house. I would stay here again. The only thing is that they tried to charge a coke to my room. I said I didn't order one, they took it off, and now I have a $21 charge to my room on my CC. I haven't called yet to have it taken off but for some reason they keep charging my card.

Good hotel located 10 minutes walk to Georgetown, the nicest part of Washington. If you walk in the other direction, towards downtown, it's a 30 min boring walk through horrible architecture to the White House. In three days, the nicest part was always in Georgetown. Hotel is fine although rooms are bare, in particular bathroom has no hangers for towels. No coffee facilities in room. One of the three night, the daily room cleaning was missed but fixed as soon as required. Excellent gym
