Very nice hotel layout with indoor access to the convenient center. Close to the White House and National Mall as well as all major DC Landmarks. Perfect for a conference and Convention Center. I stayed here for 8 days and 7 nights. Due to the amount of time I spent here I had room service twice and it was pretty good. I rated this a 4 only because they missed wake-up call and the paperless process led to a lot of errors on the part of the staff and they used the fact that it was a paperl... Read more

Stayed at many different hotels in the area and believe this is one of the best. Spacious rooms await with comfortable beds. Outside of a few local police sirens passing, rarely I might add, peace and quiet. Bars and restaurants have terrific food that's reasonable for the area. Having a Starbucks in the lobby is also very nice. The convention center is huge and all below ground so very limited walks between there and your room. Hotel location is ideal and gives you easy access to sights a... Read more

I stayed at the Marriot Marquis one night for a conference taking place next door at the Washington Convention Center. The Marriot, as always, is reliably pleasant, clean, updated and runs a class act. The room was ready early when I arrived at 11:00am which was a real plus. The main on site restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch, but that turned out to be a silver lining as I found a fabulous local restaurant. This hotel is the reason I stay at Marriott properties -- everything was up to the high standards of the Marriott brand. Stunning architecture. Truly helpful staff. Rooms full of USB ports for charging gadgets. Wonderful M Club with a balcony overlooking the city. Great place to stay especially if you need to be near the convention center which is connected with a tunnel.

The lobby and common areas of this this hotel are nice. But the room was relatively small. And the worst part was a couple of staff members who were rude. I called room service and the person taking the order was so rude that I changed my mind and left the hotel for dinner. It is next to convention center. Ate breakfast in restaurant; expensive but food was good. Will look elsewhere in future Washington DC stays

This hotel's only real claim to fame is that it has an underground connection to the DC Convention Center. Otherwise there are other nicer facilities and nicer Marriott properties locally that one could choose for the same cost. After attending a 30k + person convention this weekend, imagine my surprise to find Marriott refusing to open the connector doors for both Saturday and Sunday (and this was a property that had a hotel block of rooms for this very convention so it's not like Marriott wasn... Our stay couldn't have been better. We were there for a conference and found the room to be amazing. Ask for a room facing Massachusetts Ave unless you'd rather face the interior area where the rooms face the huge lobby and impressive sculptures. We liked the floor to ceiling window view of the city. No famous buildings were within view but we could see part of the city and watch the weather change. This is a really wonderful hotel. It is truly spectacular looking from the street and inside there is a soaring light filled atrium. The rooms are very nice, and the buffet breakfast is great. John cooks eggs perfectly! Try him. There are a special set of rooms in an old building that is incorporated into the hotel. I think they are sort of special and I try to ask for one of those. One Metro station was just on the opposite side of the Convention Center from the Hotel. Chinatown was about four blocks away. Our room was comfortable. The Furnishings were modern and everything was clean. The bed was a bit soft for my taste but otherwise comfortable. The bathroom was small; all the fixtures were modern, clean and worked well. As we checked in, the reception worker seemed as though he just rambled off a speech he ememorized to repeat to hundreds of guest that enter. It was not very personal. Otherwise, it was a good experience. The room was big enough, bed was comfortable, room was clean. The one thing that was disappointing was that if you are not a rewards member, you need to pay for wifi. Then at night, it did not work at all! I paid for the better service because I wanted to skype with my kids, but it kept getting... Read more

This hotel is new and super nice and clean from a visual standpoint. Gym is one of the best I've ever seen at a hotel. The service was sub par a few different times with room service. Strange boxed up room service packages for the food. Not really sure if it's fresh or not, was ok but very oily on a few dishes, could not finish. I would stay again but would ask for specifics on food and service.

It is a huge conference hotel and the meeting space is plentiful. The guests rooms are the typical Marriott type room. The restaurant was nothing special but the hotel is well located with many options for food and entertainment nearby. The one big downside is there is no pool at this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel with my family this past weekend for Playlist Live (Sept 3& 4). The valet, bellmen, front desk personnel, waiters and all other staff at this hotel were extremely nice and went out of their way to help out any way possible. I did not give this an excellent rating just because the hotel did not have a pool for the kids. That would have been really nice especially for a top notch hotel like this one. The rooms were clean and beds were extremely comfortable. Bathrooms we... Read more

The hotel is fairly new and nicely furnished. The meeting rooms are especially nice once you are in them but the hallways can be very tight and congested between sessions. And we had a reception for a thousand people in a space suitable for three hundred. The rooms are nicely furnished, including a coffee make and small refrigerator and foam pillows, if you want. And the bathroom has a shower stall (yay!!) but it is tricky to get in it because its door, the toilet and the bathroom door are s... Read more

It is a beautiful hotel. I was especially impressed with the staff and how friendly they were. While facing the atrium, it was still very light. The room and it's furnishings were very nice and the bathroom felt high end.

Have stayed 20 nights in the last 12 months, and in the last month there have been noticeable changes, all for the worst. Starting with the M Lounge, the food selections have decreased to just scrambled eggs and turkey bacon, eliminating potatoes and salmon. Also eliminated the coffee machine. At night they used to serve meatballs, roast beef and cod. Now they are serving pasta and puffs. Desserts are still good, but some of the favorite selections have gone away. In addition to the above, my ro... Read more

This is a very large convention hotel in a great location. Very contemporary decor and minimalist lobby. Front desk staff just appeared to go through the motions and did not seem happy to be there. Room was nice, though we had requested a high floor, were located on 4th of the 15 available. As gold Members, we had club access, which was on 12th floor. Club is large and very nice, offering still and sparkling water and a variety of snacks during the day.Nice hotel, parking is expensive and the fr... Read more

This is a really nice conference hotel. It's well located and you can do a nice 5km run from the hotel to the big sights. Was a shame not to have bathrobes and slippers, but I liked the way they delivered breakfast in a handy takeaway box!

I had the pleasure to stay here on business for the National Ryan White Conference held on August 22-26, 2016. I arrived from the airport via Uber and the parking attendant quickly greeted me and assisted with my luggage, then directed me to the check-in counter. There was a long line but staff continuously apologized for the wait as they handed out snacks and water bottles. Twenty minutes later I retrieved my key card and proceeded to my room 10-061. The bed was SO comfortable and the pillows were lush and fluffy. The room was clean and it had plenty of space. I had a great view of the Capital Dome from the hallway on the 15th floor - awesome. The staff were friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the Nation's Triathlon, for which they were the host hotel. They didn't know when the shuttle was going to pick athletes up after the race or where they were going to pick them up. If you are the host hotel for a major event where people ... Read more

I stayed at the Marriott Marquis for Playlist Live DC last week and I really couldn't have asked for much more. The room was clean and comfy. Housekeeping came by each day like clockwork to make the beds and bring fresh towels. We had an inward view towards the lobby area where the convention goers were mingling. Either way you face it's a great view. The TV has internet so I was able to watch some movies on Netflix. Plenty of outlets to charge my phones and cameras. The USB outlets in the desk ... Read more

I stayed at the Marriott in Washington DC this last week. Close to several sites to see. The bed was so comfortable I sleep like a baby. The elevators need your room key to get to your floor. Felt very secure.

Hotel is very open and spacious, easy to navigate for the conference I attended. If you are active it is a short run to get to the mall area and see the sites or grab a bikeshare. Rooms were also nice. If you ask for a room that doesn't face the atrium, please note there is some construction across the street in the back side of the hotel and the east side has traffic fairly early in the morning and they use their horns in DC. Opt for a high floor. Service was also good.

Our room was large, clean and comfortable. The rooms were very quiet and the beds were quite comfortable. The check-in/check-out process was painless. The only shock to our system was the parking fee for our truck - $68 per night!! Our bad - should have called and checked. But in our defense NO other hotel has ever charged us an oversize fee - it's a regular size truck. Several restaurants to choose from or you can have some small bites in the bar.

This hotel is very interesting and has the overall feel of being brand new. Staff was helpful and the housekeeping staff did a great job. The lobby was clean and welcoming. My room was ready when I arrived late afternoon on a Sunday and the hotel was packed. Rooms were well appointed and quiet, although the rooms facing Massachusetts Ave will include some traffic noise during morning and evening rush hour. The closest metro stop is two to three blocks away.

I attended a large conference held at this hotel and found it to be an excellent experience. Check-in was quick, and service was excellent throughout. I found each and every team member to be friendly. Congratulations to the leadership for doing a great job. I had access to the "M" Club (concierge lounge). Stayed here for one night on a work trip. The cost for one night was $350. The exterior, lobby and common areas looked very nice but the room was just average. It's like they spent all the money on other spaces and not in the rooms. I don't need luxurious accommodations but for $350 a night, I'd expect my duvet cover not to have a tear in it (it was the first thing I noticed when I looked at the bed). The full lengthy mirror looked as if the mirror was peeling or something, looking at yourself w... Read more

Great location with a brisk 20min walk to museums a little longer to other iconic buildings. The hotel offers all the usual services but I liked the fact it had a few coffee shops and bars within the complex. Not too close to shops or other restaurants but you can always catch these as you head to capital hill. Great gym, lots of machines and weights. Enjoyed the stay. Thanks.

A nice property that is in a great location. Walking distance to many attractions and restaurants. The Verizon center very close by. The room was comfortable and clean. Room is regular small hotel room size. However there were little things that I'm surprised had not been taken care of. The latch on the door came completely out of the wall. I would not recommend it for a quiet stay but if you are attending an event , the rooms are perfectly comfortable and the facilities mean that if you did not want to leave you would not need to. I stayed in this hotel for a couple of days, since we had a conference there. I have to admit that the hotel took good steps to prepare for this conference, since over 1,000 professionals were expected to attend. And everything went very well. Great job! This is a great business hotel, with comfortable, nice and clean hotel room. The location of the hotel is good as well, close to most sightseeing places.

I'm staying here for a convention and it's great. Underground walkway to get to Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Good food. Good bars in the hotel. Close to some good restaurants. The staff is excellent and very friendly. Rooms are very clean. I would definitely stay here again. Note, I quoted this as mid-range because I believe it's mid-range for DC. All hotels in this area were super expensive (in my opinion).

Great facilities for business travel. The atrium is basically a very large bar area great for networking. They have a Starbucks and other services for sundries. The uber ride from IAD took about 20 minutes (no traffic) and cost $40 without gratuity. The property is as advertised. Clean comfortable rooms. Nice location. Great for business events.
