I stayed at the Churchill for 2 nights for a business trip and was neither disappointed or blown away. Upon arrival my room was not ready, however, the front desk stored my luggage for me and offered to call me as soon as the room was cleaned. Unfortunately one of the two elevators wasn't working during my stay so the one drawback was waiting 15 minutes to catch an elevator. The elevator itself was definitely dated and I questioned its safety at times. From the exterior of the hotel it appears... Read more

I stayed here for business. The location is good for restaurants and it is near to the metro - about 10 minutes walk to the Dupont circle. The hotel is ok for the money, considering this is DC. Staff is friendly and professional. The elevator has to be the slowest elevator I have ever been in. If you are in a rush you may have to leave your room a few minutes early. All in all I feel rather neutral towards the Churchill

This hotel is very nice and elegant. Rooms are big and furinture are clean. Toilets are very good, the soap even from Neutrogena I was surprised. People at reception were very nice and it s only 10 min walking to subway and all the way to station you will find many restaurants and pubs. We were able to leave our luggage until we left.

Room was dated with a very small bathroom. We were placed next to elevator (rm 314) and heard rumbling continually. Outlets didn't always work and only one plug in the bathroom, BEHIND the door and away from the sink/mirror area. No coffee maker in room. Uninterested front desk staff. Wifi was touch and go. Room service food was mediocre. "System" was down when checking out so we did not receive a final bill. Had to call three seperate times to get the final billing statement for my expense repo... Staff was very friendly and we could walk everywhere to eat. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Couldn't beat the price for the location. I recommend parking on the street to avoid parking fees for valet. Parking on street is free after 7 pm until 8 pm.

We had a quick trip to DC for a friend's wedding & this hotel was perfect. Great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. When I needed a late check-out, they had no problem accommodating. Thanks for a great stay!

I attended a Conference at The Hilton across the street from the Churchill, and fortunately the Hilton was sold out, so I found a room at the Churchill. To my surprise, the unavailability at the Hilton was a blessing, since the Churchill proved to be a wonderful and convenient place to stay. The Hotel staff was extremely pleasant and helpful, the rooms were well appointed and the bath which appeared quite new was very spacious and well laid out. I had a nice, quiet corner room on the eighth f... Read more

I had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights for a conference that was being held at the Omni Hotel a few minutes away. While there Wanda welcome to me with open arms and was very friendly. The waitress in the restaurant that served me it was so helpful and gave me tips from a local perspective on touring the city. There was a gentleman who welcomed me into the hotel every evening after the conference with a joke and a smile that made my day complete. I would give this a higher rating if it h... Read more

We stayed here in late August, 2016. Four of us stayed in two king rooms. Both rooms were very clean and updated. Many rooms have a unique floor plan, as this property was originally built in 1906 as one of the first apartments buildings in this northern area of Washington, DC (I learned that while reading the literature in the room). We had a spacious entry room, a cramped bathroom, and a large bedroom with large windows overlooking a quiet side street. Our companions had a smaller entry r... Read more

We have stayed here often and think it's great. The rooms are really pre-war apartments and are spacious with high ceilings. It's simple and efficient and, most of all, comfortable. There are ample local Kalorama dining establishments close by and Uber is never more than two minutes away. This hotel ranks very near the top of my choices of hotels in DC and is at the top for value.

This is a well equipped, clean and relatively luxurious hotel in a central location, just 5 minutes walking from Dupont Circle. The wifi is great, the gym needs improvements and the rooms really spacious. Good for business travelers, not so good for family vacations - and the elevators must be fixed finally

My birthday weekend I continued on to this hotel. I usually use the different Hilton brands when I travel. They had a decent rate and I booked them at the last minute for 2 nights to complete my special weekend. I especially liked the front desk staff, as you know when you check out of one hotel the usual time you can check in is 3:00. They were so nice to me they let me check in a couple of hrs. early which I appreciated I was very tired. Also the bell man was most helpful when i was trying to... Read more

I stayed at the Churchill last week because I was attending a conference at the Hilton across the street and The Churchill had better rates even with the conference discount. The hotel has lots of old character, which I like. I do not think I got an updated room because the carpet was a bit worn, but the room was clean, the bathroom was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and it was nice to have a mini fridge in the room. My room was on the 3rd floor facing the dumpsters and another buildi... Read more

A beautiful fall weekend in the heart of the city. We were totally satisfied with our visit to this hotel. The room was large with a great view. The staff at the desk was extremely helpful. The overall service was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel.

A slightly upscale but affordable spot just a few blocks from DuPont Circle. Easy access to all of the DC area via the metro. We returned our rental car when we got back to DC and went everywhere on the metro system. If you are a senior pick up a senior metro pass and ride for half price. Lots of restaurants in the area. A nice restaurant and lounge in the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

The historic Churchill Hotel is a beautifully restored, elegant, yet reasonably priced hotel with location, location, location! It is situated on Connecticut Avenue in the Dupont Circle/Embassy Row area. So, just a few blocks away are plethora of good, local restaurants and shops, and within 4 blocks, a Metro. The neighborhood is predominantly residential off of Connecticut and a delight to stroll. Hotel service is gracious, very good. The bed was very comfortable, our corner room quiet an... Read more

The hotel is well located in Dupont Circle/Kalorama area of DC with a lot of elegant homes, many of which have become embassies. So, it's a good area for a walk to look at all the lovely buildings. Its about 5 blocks from the Dupont Circle metro station, so it's very convenient (just be aware that the journey to the hotel is uphill, particularly the last block if you have a lot of luggage. Staff was all very friendly & helpful. The only minus is that the hotel is showing it's age. It was built ... Read more

All the staff were very friendly. The location is about a 30 minute walk to the White House passing Dupont Circle. I would highly recommend the hotel for the location and there are some good restaurants nearby. Everything was in good working order and very well taken care of unlike some DC hotels. I stayed next door at the Normandy and the Churchill is much better and a similar price.

On the whole I liked the hotel - the room was nicely done and a more than adequate size, and staff were nice. But the wifi was terrible. If you have work to do in your room - forget it. Wifi worked will downstairs but not in the room. Also, gym was threadbare. No bicycles. Only treadmills and stairmasters. Very small. I wonder if the building was originally a hotel as there is no real reception area and the stairs seem more like those of an old apartment building. The hotel was expensive for wha... Read more
