Had a quick last minute overnight trip. Tried this hotel for a change of pace. Paid off. Newly renovated - friendly staff. Had a nice late meal in the restaurant of crab cake and Caesar salad. Both very fresh Highly recommend.

From the warm welcome and easy check in to the helpful and smiling staff--at the lobby, in the restaurant, and maid service--everyone works seamlessly to make staying at The Churchill enjoyable and easy. Rooms are large, well provisioned and comfortable. Location is convenient--walking distance to DuPont Circle shops, restaurants and the Metro. Our "go to" hotel whenever we're in DC.

I stayed here for two nights just before Christmas to visit family. It was freezing cold outside and I arrived tired and late after a long flight, train and taxi journey and I could not have had a warmer welcome. My room was lovely, the location of the hotel is perfect for all that I wanted to visit and is surrounded by nice shops, cafes and restaurants within just a couple of minutes walk - even in the cold! What really makes this hotel stand out for me is the standard of their staff. Eve... Read more

I needed several hotel rooms for a number of out-of-town guests attending our wedding. The three hotels in the immediate area were all priced similarly, but I feel one gets more for the money at The Churchill (at least for our needs.) I would not refer to the hotel as "old" as much as historic. It is an absolutely beautiful building inside and out (carved molding) and the rooms are huge. A number of guests, frequent travelers who have stayed in all kinds of accommodations, commented on how gorg... Read more

This was our second time here. It was great seeing Mahamadou again as he made our first stay become our second and not the last! Can't say enough great things about this place! Thank you to everyone for making our accommodation a memorable experience!

I stayed here in October and was pleased with the central location, its right off transit, 3 blocks from the metro station, one block from a bus stop, and very amicably priced. The staff was friendly, attentive, and easy to work. The location was super convenient for most centralized tourist stops, and the room had decent amenities. Rooms were ample size, and the bedding, while rough for someone with back issues like me, was overall modern. There was a couch, fridge, microwave, and safe in m... Read more

This is a lovely hotel. It's well located, about 8 blocks from Dupont Circle, about 3 blocks from diverse restaurants and shops, about 8 blocks from the zoo. The hotel is old fashioned looking but the rooms appear recently updated and spotless. The staff is courteous and helpful. Nice lounge/restaurant and fabulous breakfast in dining room. The room did not have a coffee maker in the room but one was promptly provided when I asked the front desk.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Churchill. I was greated by friendly staff at the door and the front desk. Every time I passed by them, I got a smile and an inquiry as to whether everything was alright. The room I had was a front corner room, with a great view of the street (there is a statue and beautiful mansion right across the street). The room was clean, well-appointed, with a flat-screen cable TV, refrigerator, and a separate study/office area off to the side. Perhaps the best... Read more

Stayed in The Churchill at beginning of November. Great staff at reception every shift. Very clean, comfortable hotel and only 2 minute walk to White House & major historical attractions. Near the metro at DuPont circle for those less keen on walking and direct bus route downtown about 2 minutes from front door. We were out from early morning to late evening & only had a snack & drink in the bar one evening & again the bar staff were terrific & service excellent. Would recommend & stay at The Ch... Read more

This hotel is a hidden secret that is almost complete with total renovation and even before, it is the place to say for proximity to everything. The staff and value are exceptional. The restaurant serves a wonderful breakfast and while there is no room service, it doesn't matter. The proximity to the Dupont Circle area is ideal.
