Loved the cleanliness, friendly staff. We needed a ride to a destination and that is one of the services - very nice. The Executive Lounge is wonderful - equipped with water, snacks, sodas, etc. Furniture in room and throughout hotel was very comfortable. Coffee was excellent in the morning. Enjoyed where this hotel is also as it was within walking distance of downtown area where we were going.

I had an excellent experience staying here, with just a couple of odd quirks. Let me first say that the staff here was great--very friendly and helpful, and I felt very much at home. The check-in desk was quick and efficient, and even though I was there well before check-in time, had me on my way quickly with recommendations for lunch. I chose this hotel for its proximity to my appointments, and didn't really understand its extreme convenience to the downtown (or the courts--but that's anothe... Read more

I stay at this property several times a year, the staff is always friendly and glad to accommodate visitors. Always helpful with information and advice on restaurants etc.. Hotel guest rooms are quiet and clean, great internet connection. Great place to get things done.

In the 4 nights I spent at the DoubleTree 2 of the nights when returning to my room on the 7th floor, I had to return to the lobby as my keycard did not work. The front desk was very quick about fixing the issue, however I am not sure why this happened and it was very inconvenient. Additionally I discovered after my 3rd night that the reason why I had allergic reactions that plagued me throughout the day was I discovered that all of the bedding in my room was filled with DOWN. I am highly all... Read more

This is the best. From the front desk to dining. Higly recommended. The only thing a little back then was the parking. Not free, reasonable price though. So be there, never disappointed. This was my second stay in last 2 years.

Federal court trial. Location to court was less than a block. Colleagues suggested the Du Pont, which is reputed to be much better. The Dounle Tree was quite satisfactory and convenient. If they had a full menu cafe would have been better. Don't ever order the NY strip steak unless you know a good dentist.

The staff can make or break an experience and the staff at the Double Tree in Wilmington are kind and genuine. The rooms are clean and feel inviting and for the money and location, it is hard to beat the Double Tree. The shuttle is a huge plus as it will take you anywhere within a 5-mile radius and even pick you up. Peter the shuttle driver is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times over the years and have no complaints, except for the rooms on th... Read more

Great hotel in the heart of Wilmington! We stayed one Saturday night to attend Opera Delaware's Hamlet and Fallstaff on Saturday and Sunday. There are not many restaurants open on the weekends however the hotel restaurant was fabulous and affordable! We walked to the opera on Saturday and Sunday. The hotel was clean and staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Great hotel and location. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. However, wish the breakfast started before 7:00am. We left at 6:30am and would have liked to have a proper breakfast before departing. Breakfast was not provided in the price. Price was rather high.

Usually travel with kids or elderly and a microwave oven would be great in the room. Do not like the idea of waitin in line to heat some. Guess I'm a little spoiled by other places. Love the staff and the warm cookies on arrival was a nice touch.

Excellent stay, very nice people, room in excellent condition, and I get really cold so I was happy I could turn the heat on. On arrival, I was greeted and everything explained to me and my family. Love the DT.

Room nice, breakfast buffet better than many (not a free breakfast, was in the hotel restaurant). Better than average room service with a great vegetarian hummus wrap. Check in and front desk service was spotty - just not a clear description of parking, other services, etc. They had trouble getting my room situation/suite reservation correct. Would stay here again, though - need a car as there aren't really cabs. Parking and driving are easy - this was an easy 30 minute drive from Philly ai... Read more

The weather was windy but pleasant. The location is also close to the interstate which is great if you want to do some driving and sightseeing. The hotel also offer shuttle service within a 5 mile radius if needed.

The Shuttle staff to and from my location were very courteous and polite. The welcome staff were helpful as I was a new comer to the area. Not sure about the Dinner/Lunch/Breakfast Cafe. I chose to go there due to availability. May require a different menu

Hotel is very nice and comfortable . We loved the location - it was right around the corner from the Wilmington Opera House. We had tickets for the Jason Mraz concert and this was the perfect hotel to stay at. It was very easy to drive to and also easy to get back to the highway when we left.

Staff go above and beyond. Gym is clean, organized and updated. Rooms are spacious and modern. Location is central to restaurants and events (many walk-able). Parking under garage is useful as it allows exits on two sides of the hotel which are 1 way streets.

Never ask for a room by the pool! There are no windows to the outside, and the rooms are very dark! The pool is salt water!! So, it's warm, and you can't work out in it. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night. No offer for free rewards points.

Overall not bad for the value. This Double Tree could benefit from some upgrades, better shower and tub. Also change room colors to more SPA like. Rooms are very dark. Bed was nice. Loved the cookies.

I found the guestroom arrangement to be acceptable. However, the entry door had some severe operational issues, and the shower head in the bathroom nearly pulled out of the wall when I tried to adjust it. The "free" wifi service was terrible, but could be improved if I chose to purchase better (e.g., faster) service for an additional charge. I used my phone's hotspot instead.

Stayed here a Saturday night. Rooms are a little dated and small. My biggest problem was with the curtains--you can't get it totally dark. A lot of light comes in under them and shines right on eye level where you're sleeping in the morning. So no sleeping in for us. Bathrooms are small but towels are big and fluffy. Parking was $11.

I was visiting Wilmington for a youth conference held annually at a nearby church. I believe the Wilmington Sheraton was the conference hotel this year, however I enjoyed my stay at the DoubleTree so much during last year's conference that it was a no brainer as to where I would stay this time! The rooms are comfortable, spacious and newly renovated! The staff went out of their way to tend to our every need. I will highly recommend that the conference use this hotel for next year!

Have stayed here many times as part of a longer trip across the country given its proximity to Amtrak station. For my stay on Saturday 7/9, had to wait a few minutes for check-in and check-out. The staff was very efficient in recognizing my Diamond status and treating me as I was welcome. I had walked up to the hotel (for the sport of walking) from the Amtrak station as I often make this a stop on a longer cross country trip given its convenience. I was told I could have called for the hotel s... Read more

I chose this hotel for the location since we had tickets to see a show at the World Cafe Live at the Queen and it is within walking distance. If you are doing business in the area, this is probably a good option. Although the service was good, the property is dark and the rooms are dark and somewhat dated. The AC was loud. The view was a roof top of another building. I upgraded the room to the Concierge level. The breakfast was fine and because the reception was only open from 6-8 p.m. we missed... Read more

We stayed at the Double Tree Legal District from July 3 to July 10 for a horticultural convention. All the meeting rooms were well situated. Free wi-fi was a nice plus all over the hotel. Staff was always courteous hand helpful. Unfortunately, the catered meals were about average, and sometimes lacking flavor. Dinner in the restaurant was very good - the best sweet potato fries ever! - and service was also good. The buffet breakfast left much to be desired - cold waffles, sometimes hard muffins.... Although we stayed at the far end of the second floor, we could still hear the pool noise distinctly. The room itself was okay, but the dark-on-dark decor was a little oppressive, especially since the cfl bulbs took a little while to reach full brightness. The staff was pleasant, but I'll probably not stay there again. On check-in we were told that street parking was complimentary "if you're comfortable with that." That seemed enough of a caveat to put us in the garage for $11 overnight. An... Read more

While staying at this hotel, my husband was experiencing severe leg cramps. I asked mr. James ( mr. James smith, I believe) about any close stores to walk to that would have fresh bananas. He told me not to worry about it and found a banana for my husband. What a relief!!! We were so grateful for the help - especially since this was our first time in the city. Thank you, mr. We stayed here for a recent holiday weekend. Not being familiar with the city, I would not choose this location again--pretty sketchy. There is another Doubletree nearby and I think I would try that one. The staff was nice enough. It was inconvenient going from the parking garage to the Lobby level, then needing to change elevators to go to our room on the 5th floor. The signs designate the 5th floor as the HHiltonHonors rooms--I could not see why--they were nothing special.

My husband and I travel twice a week to this partiicular location because of our assignment. It has been a wonderful place to call home for the last few months and for the next 4 months. The reason: Shannon at the front desk takes care of our every need and sometimes desire after a long day of travel. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling through Wilmington, Delaware.
