Loved the cleanliness, friendly staff. We needed a ride to a destination and that is one of the services - very nice. The Executive Lounge is wonderful - equipped with water, snacks, sodas, etc. Furniture in room and throughout hotel was very comfortable. Coffee was excellent in the morning. Enjoyed where this hotel is also as it was within walking distance of downtown area where we were going.

I had an excellent experience staying here, with just a couple of odd quirks. Let me first say that the staff here was great--very friendly and helpful, and I felt very much at home. The check-in desk was quick and efficient, and even though I was there well before check-in time, had me on my way quickly with recommendations for lunch. I chose this hotel for its proximity to my appointments, and didn't really understand its extreme convenience to the downtown (or the courts--but that's anothe... Read more

In the 4 nights I spent at the DoubleTree 2 of the nights when returning to my room on the 7th floor, I had to return to the lobby as my keycard did not work. The front desk was very quick about fixing the issue, however I am not sure why this happened and it was very inconvenient. Additionally I discovered after my 3rd night that the reason why I had allergic reactions that plagued me throughout the day was I discovered that all of the bedding in my room was filled with DOWN. Federal court trial. Location to court was less than a block. Colleagues suggested the Du Pont, which is reputed to be much better. The Dounle Tree was quite satisfactory and convenient. If they had a full menu cafe would have been better. Don't ever order the NY strip steak unless you know a good dentist.

The staff can make or break an experience and the staff at the Double Tree in Wilmington are kind and genuine. The rooms are clean and feel inviting and for the money and location, it is hard to beat the Double Tree. The shuttle is a huge plus as it will take you anywhere within a 5-mile radius and even pick you up. Peter the shuttle driver is one of the nicest people I have ever met. Great hotel in the heart of Wilmington! We stayed one Saturday night to attend Opera Delaware's Hamlet and Fallstaff on Saturday and Sunday. There are not many restaurants open on the weekends however the hotel restaurant was fabulous and affordable! We walked to the opera on Saturday and Sunday. Room nice, breakfast buffet better than many (not a free breakfast, was in the hotel restaurant). Better than average room service with a great vegetarian hummus wrap. Check in and front desk service was spotty - just not a clear description of parking, other services, etc. They had trouble getting my room situation/suite reservation correct. I found the guestroom arrangement to be acceptable. However, the entry door had some severe operational issues, and the shower head in the bathroom nearly pulled out of the wall when I tried to adjust it. The "free" wifi service was terrible, but could be improved if I chose to purchase better (e.g., faster) service for an additional charge. I used my phone's hotspot instead.

Stayed here a Saturday night. Rooms are a little dated and small. My biggest problem was with the curtains--you can't get it totally dark. A lot of light comes in under them and shines right on eye level where you're sleeping in the morning. So no sleeping in for us. Bathrooms are small but towels are big and fluffy. Parking was $11.

Have stayed here many times as part of a longer trip across the country given its proximity to Amtrak station. For my stay on Saturday 7/9, had to wait a few minutes for check-in and check-out. The room itself was okay, but the dark-on-dark decor was a little oppressive, especially since the cfl bulbs took a little while to reach full brightness. We stayed here for a recent holiday weekend. Not being familiar with the city, I would not choose this location again--pretty sketchy. There is another Doubletree nearby and I think I would try that one. The staff was nice enough. It was inconvenient going from the parking garage to the Lobby level, then needing to change elevators to go to our room on the 5th floor. The area surrounding the hotel seemed a little unsafe and we were nervous about our stay. You have to pay to park ($11) in a garage which they said was secure but I saw nothing to portray that. I cannot think of anything negative to say about my stay...except that I had to make this 200- characters in order to submit it. :-)

This was my first time to Wilmington and staying at this hotel. I am a Hilton Honors Gold Member. Shannon was of a great help working the desk and went above the call of duty to assist me with giving suggestions on places to visit around town. Olivia was a great help and in assisting me in sorting out a parking issue. Harry and Mike also went above and beyond the call of duty in assisting my family and I around the town. Joey, Kia and Judy were excellent servers. Louis made fantastic omelettes!... Read more

Good room, friendly desk staff. No cookies available. Hotel shuttle was a good benefit. Breakfast the following morning was a disaster. Waited a long time and never got any service. Left before getting to place an order and went elsewhere

Have stayed here a couple of times in the past while attending concerts at The Grand Opera House across the street. Excellent location for concert goers. Room appeared to be fairly newly renovated. Comfortable bed. Clean room. Great price for the downtown location. Would recommend.

Everyone who works at this hotel excels at customer service. Meghan at the front desk took great care of me. Felix (the bartender) is a wonderful mixologist. The shuttle driver was prompt with both pick-up/drop-off times and was very friendly. Rooms were clean and bed was incredibly comfortable. The pool was nice and warm and not overly bleachy. As such, it is clear that management takes these reviews seriously. Now, as for the guests, there was a party on my floor and they were smoking weed. ... Read more

the place was clean . The staff was very knowledgable. Price for the area was great. There was plenty to do in the area. The continental breakfast was really good. Wireless internet was free for Hilton honors members and worked great.

The hotel itself is nice and the two ladies at the lobby check-in were some of the nicest Hilton employees I've ever met in my life. So very pleasant and such great personalities! Lovely to check-in at the hotel with having their smiling faces and willingness to do anything to make my stay enjoyable. I told them that I was only there for a few hours and had to wake up early for a meeting. As a Diamond member, they were on a mission to make sure those few hours were great. Well when I woke up thi... Read more

We were there on points. The room was adequate but noisy. We were given a free breakfast which we were not expecting. The hotel charged extra for parking. We hope the next doubletree we go to will be a bit more up to date.

This is a reasonably modern hotel with parking underneath. We had a friendly welcome and a nice room with all the usual amenities. Perhaps we have been spoilt by other Doubletree hotels, but we thought that the décor was perhaps a little more tired than we are used to. We thought (perhaps unfairly) that the area was a little dodgy, so we used the hotel free shuttle to take us to dinner. Great service from a charming driver. Car park underneath charge $12 for overnight parking.

My husband stayed in this hotel twice in October. Once for a period of one week and second time for three days. He left two ties( one very expensive one, purchased in France), shampoo and conditioners in the room. He left the hotel went to court and directly to airport. There was no other stop. He tried to contact the hotel and ask about the tie. He was very unsuccessful the get any results. He could not get connected to the housekeeping and the front desk people would not return the calls. Great experience, was there for an event and room was very comfortable, enjoyed the work out room and even had a chance to relax in the pool. An employee, Harry Saunders was so professional and helpful not only to us but we watched how he helped out some of the older customers with their items.

Not the best or the worse place. Front desk employee gave me the wrong room key but was somewhat apologetic. Air conditioner was so load I could barely sleep. Located centrally in the City so that is a very big plus. All in all it was just okay. PS - Wilmington is a pretty cool place!

The staff was very nice, helpful and attentive. The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. I did not care for the 'breakfast buffet', the breakfast food was not good and it stays the same every day. It seems as though the employee-staff was cut down and it was not enough people working causing the few to do extra duty. The front desk check in was very slow and only one person. Long lines at times.

I usually start with the good points...there were NONE! Poor check in...after waiting 10 minutes for a breakfast coupon, I gave up. Halls and room are worn and dingy. Shower ceiling repaired but never painted. (724) Stain on towel. No room upgrade offered to a Diamond member. No hot water in morning at 7:30 a.m. Waited 10 minutes for water temp to change. No luck. I told front desk and got NO satisfaction. Breakfast bar at 8:45 am was sparse and most food was dried out and never refreshed ... Read more

I was going to the DoubleTree for an event and accidentally went to the wrong one in Downtown Wilmington. (There are two in the area. The other one is better.) I had to pull into the parking lot to turn around and the guards there refused to let me leave without paying them for an hour first. I was there only long enough to make a u-turn and they basically extorted $3 from me for parking. The parking machines were broken, so I couldn't use a credit card and I didn't have any cash on me because t... Read more

We recently went to a wedding at this Hotel and decided to stay the night. The wedding was great and the accomadations and food surrounding that event. The bathroom was dirty and some kind of film on tub and the floor was dirty. The breakfast in the hotel was less than average.

I always try and book Hilton when on business trips because of the consistency of service. This is a nice hotel. Nothing spectacular but they so what they do, very well. Hotel and room were clean and bedding comfortable. Attentive staff and easy check-in and check-out. Has all you need, even a shopping mall next door.

Only stayed for one night, but it was great! The staff was very professional, friendly, and helpful. Our room and the hotel itself were very beautiful and clean! The only thing I didn't like was having to pay for internet access, but a lot of hotels are now doing that. Other than that we have no complaints! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to this area.

First time staying. It was ok. I've stayed in better condition DoubleTrees but the staff was courteous open checkin. The evening was quiet which allowed me to get some sleep. Most likely will end up staying again due to location for work.
