It is a decent hotel. The rooms could use some deep cleaning and a little updating. Especially the bathrooms. We stayed in room with whirlpool tub. It needed some serious cleaning. The front desk/staff were pleasant.

Went to Dover on business and decided to stay at this location because it was very close to where I needed to be for my business meeting the next morning. Suite #300 is a King Suite, living room type style. The floor of the room was quiet. The refrigerator was not cold. Although the microwave was antiquated, it worked. There were some stains on the footrest and couch. But, the room was spacious. Televisions in both living room and bedroom. The bathroom was great and included a Jacuzzi tub. Th... Read more

Perfect for a quick overnight. Stayed here after a local brewery event, the rooms were spacious and nice. Love the Bath and Body Works products and the breakfast was good. Pillows were very comfortable! Pretty lobby too!

The hotel was set back from highway and was quiet. We were just here overnight, the room was fine, they had Bath and Body Works toiletries. The bed was comfy and the breakfast was the usual. Nedra was very nice at check in. We would stay here again.

We enjoy staying at HI Express. Always clean, great breakfasts and the staff are very accommodating. The front desk people and the kitchen persons were very customer oriented and went out of their way to please. We are going back in a couple of weeks and we are having more people come with us at this HI Express.

We recently visited Dover for a family event and stayed at this Holiday Inn. From the minute we walked through the door, we knew this was someplace special. The lobby was very impressive and well appointed. The staff at the desk welcomed us very warmly and professionally, and had a great sense of humor. Though we only had plans to stay for one night, we were treated like long term guests. Surprised that we had been up graded to an executive suite, the room(s) were extremely clean and well... This particular Holiday Inn Express was very convenient to local Dover attractions (Dover Downs, Malls and local restaurants). It could use a bit of final touches to the rooms, but overall the staff makes up for the minor issues with their rooms. I would consider it for future use. Great breakfast with lots of morning choices included in the price.

This was a great stop for an overnight stay in business. This hotel is very similar to the rest of the chain. They are all good clean places that offer a great night's sleep. Prices are reasonable and it is definitely worth a stay

We came in on a Sunday for business, after a long drive we get there and I get in my room the tv doesn't work. The night manager is nice and moves me to another room. He says he will leave breakfast coupons for us the next morning. We get downstairs the next morning and the women at the front desk are really rude and told us that only the room with the issue gets the coupons but was very loud and sarcastic about it. We get into the restaurant, breakfast not complimentary, and we find out that th... Read more

Working for the US Government, I've stayed here on three occasions, the quality of the rooms are awesome, always clean and very comfortable. I rated them with five on the first visit, abstained from rating on the second and feel compelled to rate the third as three, or average. I felt the lady at the front desk was very condescending, curt, and borderline disrespectful. I asked to talk with the manager, but she was not their yet. If I had not been rushed to get to the worksite, I would have wai... Read more

Our family of 9 on our way to Outer Banks, NC. The drive is always the worst part so we decided to break it up & stay overnight after a long day of driving from Mass. The hotel was right off the highway, super easy to get to, lots of parking and very friendly front desk staff. We got 3 rooms and all were very clean, looked brand new, nice amenities. There is a pool and gym. The hotel is on a strip of highway with lots of local and chain restaurants, shopping if you forgot anything, even mini gol... Read more

Spent 1 nite at this Holiday Inn Express. Have to it was just okay. The room was clean & beds comfortable. The luggage rack was completely broken & unusable, the bath room toilet paper was broken. There were no Kleenex in bathroom so we used the toilet tissue. Guess I would stay again if passing through but would check things out in room first. Price was $115.00 for 2 queens.

We are repeat customers of this location for many years . It is our half way point from NY to Virginia Beach and back. We travel annually with family and friends and have needed an average of 4-6 rooms . The manager, Tad Fox has always made sure our needs were met. His friendly warm, professional manner is consistent. The housekeepers, front desk, and breakfast staff are excellent and take pride in their jobs that are well done. Our rooms , common areas, pool area and breakfast room have been... Read more

9-21-22-2016 Room 400 This HIE presents itself well from the minute you walk in the doors. The foyer is spacious and inviting and is very unlike many HIE??s. We were warmly welcomed by Nedra and upgraded to a suite, given when available because of IHG status. I would encourage anyone who travels often to apply for the IHG card and look at reward nights. For me another two night free, 5 this week. I love IHG and having another fantastic hotel like this is just another plus. Rm 400 is a sui... Read more

We stayed at the Hotel as a waypoint on our trip. The facility is fairly new, clean and the staff was friendly..we were assigned room 206. Per the desk the hotel was not sold out. We booked the hotel through Booking.Com. Our room was located next to the elevator shaft..All night long you could hear the elevator noise, which led to a poor nights sleep. This room should be the last room that is given to guests. The breakfast was good and hot. Travelers be cautious of that room.

The Holiday Inn Express in Dover is available on a regular basis as part of the PointSaver in the IHG program. A 5000 points a night for this hotel is well worth the price (especially when it ends up to be 4000 points after all the rebates). The hotel is situated off the main highway in town. In the immediate vicinity there is a SleepInn hotel and a McDonalds out let. But many more hotels and fast food restaurant are within easy access (though a car is necessary). The hotel is well situated to ... Read more

The rooms and beds are of a good standard, but there was no complimentary bottled water, using the tap water in the provided coffee machine was inadvisable as it adversely affected the taste. The breakfast was served on polystyrene plates and bowls with plastic cutlery, which is one of my pet hates.

We got to the hotel about 7 pm. We were greeted promptly and check in was quick. We received a 1st floor room that we had requested. The hotel appears to be fairly new. Our room was a mini-suite with 2 queen beds. The room was large and spacious. The beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was very accommodating and gave us some paper supplies (plates, napkins, forks and spoons) for a late evening snack in the room. The only drawback to the room was there needs to be a light over the ... Read more

We had a suite - two queen beds and pull out sofa. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, linens nice, breakfast adequate. The in room Keurig was a nice bonus. The kitchenette also had a small fridge and microwave which we did not use, but would have been nice for an extended stay. The entrance to the hotel is immediately after the McDonalds, so be sure to be in the right lane. My traveling companion missed it twice and turning around on DuPont Hwy requires two u-turns to get back.

We stayed at the HIE Dover for a one night stay while attending an event at a nearby venue. We were warmly greated at the front desk and quickly and efficiently given all the pertinent information to enjoy our stay. Off to our spacious, spotless room on the third floor that was very well maintained. The building is very well looked after and the lobby and breakfast area are very nice to enjoy. It is set back from the street, so there are no street noises to keep you awake. Pet friendly and very easy-going regarding the pet policy. We had a late arrival and the room we requested was available. The room was exceptionally clean with no aromas of former pets. Beds and pillows are very comfortable. My only complaint is that I am 5'4" and could not easily get into the bed as it is so high!
