I took my son to Mystic for his birthday and we stayed here. The hotel was perfect for us. It was clean, comfortable and close to everything (aquarium and Old Mystic village right across the street) It had an indoor pool which my son enjoyed- a little on the small side but clean with plenty of towels. The free breakfast was filling with choices like yogurt, fruit, oatmeal, muffins, bagels, toast, biscuits, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, juice, milk. Free coffee, tea day and night. Good: This place was clean, friendly staff, and convenient! The room was well-sized and beds comfortable. Just ok: The price was $250 for one night( high). The fitness room was outdated. The coffee was weak ( no dark roast). There seemed to be a lot of smokers outside and the hotel smelled of smoke. The elevator was really slow. The shower faucet was leaking so the shower didn't have full pressure. It was not bad, but not great for the price.

We were pleasantly surprised of the room size. Breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. Coffee and ice water 24/7. The front desk managers were very helpful and courteous as we were late arrivals they were able to direct us to a restaurant that was still open.

Have stayed here at least 5 times in the autumn. Staff are lovely and the hotel is always clean and comfortable. There is a pool and fitness centre and it is well placed for restaurants and amenities. Just off the I95 you can easily get to major towns and cities as well as the casinos. Well placed and well priced!

Excellent stay over a sold our Memorial Day weekend. The reception area was beautiful and check-in went smoothly. The ladies at the front were extremely helpful. The coffee/tea/water refreshment area was well stocked 24/7. The room was in excellent condition and well cleaned. We were impressed that we could let our 1 year old roam the room with no issues. This hotel was recommended to us by a cousin and it was exactly what we expected and more. Just coming into the lobby or seeing the front of the hotel, we were in awe. Love the open, airy space with high ceilings and cream-colored walls. The room was pristine and the pool, well the pool, my 8-year-old daughter could not get enough of it. The breakfast was above and beyond. I thought we would just get a continental breakfast but they served a variety of things -- bacon, ham, sausage, boiled eggs,... Read more

Slightly on an elevation that gives it a hill station feel. - Great breakfast options (hot and cold). - Complimentary coffee all around the clock. - Newspapers in the lobby. - King room was spacious with a SofaBed, and a comfortable writing desk and chair. - Microwave and Keurig machine in the room. Our family of four booked one night in a 2-bed room in April with the intent of visiting the town of Mystic, Mystic Seaport and the Foxwoods Casino. We were very happy with our choice. First, the room was so spacious! There were not only the 2 beds, but also a pull-out couch so the kids were able to have one bed each which was great in a non-suite room. We stopped there after spending the day at Mystic Seaport. Hotel was easy to get to from the highway and from Mystic Seaport. Clean room and easy parking. We went into the town itself for dinner, then walked around. We had breakfast at the hotel, and the free continental breakfast is part of why we chose this hotel (the main reason being the location so convenient for visiting Mystic Seaport).

This holiday Inn express stayed true to the reputation of great hot breakfast with your stay. But that's where the benefits end. The room was just ok. There's no thermostat temp control, it's cold to warm, hi/med/low knobs on window unit. There's no hot tub, and the pool is uncomfortably cold. Serves its purpose, allows for sleep and fills the tank in the am.

We are spire members and were upgraded to a whirlpool suite, which was awesome! The room was clean and comfortable. I do believe that the grouting around the whirlpool could use a good cleaning, seemed to have mold stains. The stairwells were like the gates of hades, it was super hot, and with only 1 elevator we took the stairs more. The breakfast area, really could be larger or laid out differently. Staff is very friendly and helpful as has been my experience staying at many different HI Express. This motel is right beside the interstate, yet it isn't noisy. The price was great for this part of the country. The problem was that the room had a strong, overwhelming body odor stench.
