In the last 2 years we've stayed at Hampton Inn 3 times and look back on our experience with satisfaction; After a day of business the bed was very comfortable and we looked forward to such a fine breakfast; the coffee was good and we had many choices of good food!! Thank you Hampton!!

I stayed here for business. I was here for 5 days. The fitness room is VERY small. The machines worked and we're well maintained. My room was clean however they never replaced my coffee in the room. The breakfast area was clean and the food was hot. Overall not the best or worst Hampton I have stayed at. If I was in the area I would stay here again.

I've stayed at this Hampton Inn on several occasions while on business in the area. The hotel is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great too-next to major routes that can take you in every direction necessary. There aren't a lot of restaurants in the area but a few that are short drives.

As often with TripAdvisor, i'd like a simple ``good'' option. It's hard to call a very standard chain hotel ``very good'' but ``average'' would be a bit mean. This hotel is perfectly well run - the rooms were comfortable and clean, it's as tasteful as American chain hotels get, the staff was helpful, and the breakfast was pretty varied in that you could eat healthy fruit, yogurt and cereals, or pig out on waffles. There is a gym but it's very small - a treadmill, an elliptical machine, and some ... Read more

Just an overnight stay. Front desk was excellent. Location perfect, right off 91, many different in options around. Room was typical Hamptons but that is not a negative....good size fridge, microwave. Only negative was the obvious lack of vacuuming of the room and hair strands around the bathroom. I was there for approximately 5 hours of sleep, so while that we disappointing, I did sleep well and was treated nicely by staff.

We have stayed at this hotel a number of times. It has always been good. This time, even before we arrived, I had decided to change my reservation 3-4 times (cash, to points to points-with cash). Each time, despite the messiness of changing reservations, the staff dealt with it with aplomb and pleasant, efficient professionalism, especially Sharon Funderburk. Thanks, once again, for a GREAT stay at Hampton Inn, Meriden!

I have traveled around a little, and this is is one of the best hotels one can dream of, and the value for money is superb. The beds in the double queen room were quite naroww, but apart from that I totally enjoyed my stay in this hotel

Place is fairly clean and a decent value if you have to stay in this area. Lots of freeway noise but they provide ear plugs. Continental breakfast is decent for a budget hotel but not great. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We stay here often. It is convenient to our plans. Lobby was a little dirty this time and I've never particularly cared for the seating area. Needs some outside space. Otherwise the hotel is your basic cookie cutter with good rates and clean comfortable rooms. Friendly staff.

We always stay at Hampton Inns when we travel. We were in Wallingford for a family function and stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. We would have rated it excellent except for a few things. We requested a room above the 1st floor, double beds and a room on the opposite side of the highway. When we arrived the room was on the highway side. The attendant said they had no rooms away from the highway on the second floor or above, with a double bed. We insisted we needed to be away from the highway... Read more

Convenient to on/off of highway and to Wesleyan University. Restaurants are nearby, not walking distance but a close and easy drive. Check in was smooth, desk manager was helpful in recommendations of things to do. Room was very clean and very comfortable. Quiet. Breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast bar choices and refreshed with frequency with plenty of seating. Check out was smooth. Would recommend.

There is nothing aggregiously bad about the Meriden Hampton Inn; it fits right in the middle of the pack for Hampton's. Room was mostly clean - bathroom could have used some attention to detail. Front desk people were professional, but not overly helpful if a request was not "pure vanilla". We were not allowed any leeway on checkout at all despite being HHONors silver, and staying at the property for 4 nights. We usually are allowed a late checkout - but instead had to vacate by 11. The rooms were clean and comfortable. They had a complimentary breakfast. There were bagels, cereal ,fresh fruit, and something hot. The location has easy access to 91 ,691 and the Merritt . I've been a guest at this hotel a couple of times in the past 9 years, but this time I was less than impressed. The room we were given was very dark, even with the shade open and all of the lights on. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were no help. The air conditioner was very loud and woke us up several times during the night. Our first morning I went down twice to try to get some breakfast, but the bins were empty each time. The room was very small and had non of tge standards we choose Hampton for except the bed. No fridge ir microwave and an extremely small bathroom. Location seemed a bit sketchy when we arrived in the dark. There were people sitting outside and the parking lot was barely lit to see your way. In the morning we saw we were next to a cemetary and I mean right next to it. Creepy.

I love staying at the Hampton Inn and this one was no different. The hotel staff went out of their way to welcome me and my son. When we needed to adjust our stay due to needing to be closer to the airport on our last night, Kim at the front desk was amazing and helped to do the shuffle I needed. Thank you for always making me feel like I am at home!

The hotel was clean -- much of what you would expect at a Hampton Inn. Front desk staff friendly. The hotel is located a little "remotely" -- meaning -- you can't walk to any will need to drive. Which is fine -- but usually there will be some local eateries. (This is not a knock on the hotel -- just what to expect if travelling there -- eat on the way -- or be prepared to get back in the car).

The hotel is a good value for the price. The rooms are small, but clean and with refrigerators in most. There is no restaurant or bar on premises, but they serve breakfast with a wafflemaker. No pool on site, but there is a sign saying you can use the Meriden YMCA's indoor pool (we didn't try this though).

Driving in the northeast can be difficult if you from out west. There is not a straight road anywhere in New England. That makes finding this hotel difficult. Once there you will find an older style Hampton Inn. Room is adequate. Biggest problem is the breakfast area. It is quite small and crowded.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hampton for a wedding. The room was very comfortable and clean, the place was very well kept and breakfast was good. The check in process was a breeze and so was the check out. There was no complains at all. The area for obtaining the food for breakfast was small, but it had the basics you will need to have a good breakfast. I love the waffle making machine, you make it yourself and is good to eat fresh waffle instead of warm to col waffles they serve in other places.

The beds are like hammocks. The window AC units are noisy and ineffective. The room was damp due to this problem. The staff either do not know how to use the computer system or Hilton needs to hire some people to fix their billing system. The staff are nice but cannot fix the infrastructural problems. This whole area has a lack of good convenient hotels/motels near anything. The only really good thing is that this hotel is better than those in Middletown.

Have stayed at this hotel several times previously. Nice location - convenient off the interstate. Clean, comfortable rooms. Ample parking. Helpful, courteous staff. However, on this visit, there were a lot of children staying in the hotel - younger children approximately 10-12 years old. When you think about this Hampton, think small. Room, bath, breakfast area, lobby, and the rest. The room is so small that there is no microwave or fridge, you'll need to call them and they'll bring them in a cart. Moreover, the hotel location gives a feel of downtown that does not put my mind at ease. However, it is very close to I-91 with easy off and on.
