I must agree with the many, many reviews that discuss how loud it is in the rooms. The slamming of the doors from the hallway continually made me jump while trying to get some sleep. The room itself was clean and functional and the mattress was very comfortable. The bathroom was in need of some TLC - the faucets in the tub and the sink leaked and some towels were stained. Also, the vent in the bathroom was literally caked in dust - I thought if the host from Hotel Impossible saw this, he wou... Read more

The 3 of us stayed at the Great Cedar Hotel at the end of April. My two friends went to see The '90's concert, and I stayed in the room drinking apple-tini's and watching TV until their return. The beds were ok. I slept in one Q-sized bed by myself and my other two friends shared a bed. They were not happy with their bed, as it had a big "dip" in the middle they both kept falling in, which made them toss & turn for the few hours of sleep we did have. The sheets are "noisy" ~ every time one of us... Read more

This is the second time I have used this hotel when staying overnight at Foxwoods. It is a bit more expensive than the Fox Tower, but is more centrally located to all the casino action. The room was pretty nice with a lovely "green" view of the property, but all the early morning ( 3AM) noise could be heard from the hallway.I know Foxwoods hotel system is not the only one to do this, but I do not like or understand why a resort fee is added to the price of the room. This added $16.95 charge is n... Read more

Just stayed overnight May 15 to 16 and we weren't in the room much, after all you don't go to Foxwoods to sit in the room. We were on the sixth floor, which is non-smoking and we didn't smell smoke like we have in other non-smoking rooms or floors. Room was basic and could use a refresh such as new comforter and go cleaning of rugs bed was ok with plenty of pillows. As others have mentioned the noise level can be high from doors closing/slamming, hallway traffic and toilets flushing. If I h... Read more

I spent one night at the Great Cedar Hotel at Foxwoods Casino while enjoying a 2-day getaway from NYC. The hotel was beautiful and clean, and my King size bed was very comfortable. The people at the front desk were very nice and even called me at the Buffet to let me know my room was ready. The maid on the 7th floor was also very friendly. Being at a hotel inside the casino complex was very convenient so I could eat, shop, play and sleep under the same roof. I spent a lot of time in the cas... Read more

If we could have checked out after going to our room we would have. Needs a major overhaul. Painting was being done in the hallways and if you weren't extremely careful you were covered with paint. The smell was yet another issue. When I told the front desk while checking out the clerk didn't even apologize or offer any comment. Bathmat was "falling apart". Unless it was "free" I wouldn't stay here. Fox Tower and Piequot are much better.

We checked in just fine, very fast and easy. Upon arrival went into the bathroom as we were unpacking and spotted a cockroach running up the wall. Called the front desk and they were there within 5 minutes with new room keys for a similarly appointed room on the sixth floor. Common areas appear not to have been shampooed or cleaned in a lengthy amount of time. The level of noise that was generated by other hotel guests between 11a and 4am was more than disconcerting, from the slamming of doors, ... Read more

I like staying here when I go to Foxwoods casino. This hotel is close to most restaurants in Foxwoods, including the Festival Buffet which is one of the largest buffet with huge selection. If you don't like to walk ask for a room close to the eleveators because the hallways are very long.

Terrance - the check-in guy at the Grand Pequot should be employee of the month AND get a raise. He upgraded my husband and I from a suite to a Villa!!! It was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in (I travel a lot in my line of work and have been to many places outside the US). This room was even better than the Ritz Carlton ( New York and Korea)!! I must have used every L'Occtaine soap in the steam room/shower! The room has a living room, dinning room, wet bar, 2 bathrooms, huge master bed... Read more

Visited great cedar during a small 40th birthday celebration. Had a 1 bedroom suite with king bed and living room and kitchenette. Kitchen was spacious enough to put out a few catered food items and drinks. Friends could sit on the couches or stand and eat. The second bathroom in the living room was helpful. The view of the mountain side was a nice touch. Great to go down and enjoy the summer beach party, outlets gambling etc! Some friends stayed in hotels nearby which were smaller and less expe... They room was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom had two sinks which made it easy for my wife and I to get ready. Down side was the pool was very small and did not have the ability to order food or get drinks. Hotel is under construction and did not provide discount for rooms with scaffolding in front or Windows in room. Room doors slam so it was difficult to take a nap.

Just came back from an overnight trip to Foxwoods and first time staying at the Great Cedar. Room was clean, there were two sinks in separate areas which made things convenient for my husband and I getting ready. Lack of elevators on the floor so you do need to walk a ways to get to one but hey you get your exercise in so not a bad thing. Elevators do bring you right in the heart of the food section on the casino floor and near some of the casino rooms. It was a good stay all in all. Tip:... Read more

Chose this place based on price versus Pequot and fox tower. Was clean - bed was fine - it is absolutely the oldest hotel there and it does show - TV was old old old. Not a big deal but you can tell it is an older property. But it's convenient and it's clean and comfortable - so was fine - I mean you're at a casino - how long are you really in he room anyway ?

This hotel was great to stay at. I've stayed at some of the other casino and local hotels. Great Cedar is close to the casinos, restaurants, and shops. Check in and out was very easy and I love the valet parking. The hotel room was very nice and clean. Shower was amazing, hot and good water pressure.

Great Cedar is the oldest of the 3 hotels on the Foxwoods property but they have done a great job remodeling many of the rooms. Check-in was fast and friendly. We had a great room on the 7th floor near the elevators. The decorating was contemporary and they may a triangle window seat out of the window sill. The bedding was very comfortable and the room was pretty quiet for Foxwoods. No arguments in the halls or loud neighbors. The hotel was close to the buffet and the Hard Rock. The best ... Read more

First, let me say the staff is lovely here. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. However, it's a tired casino and hotel. We had a corner suite... Big, 1 1/2 bathrooms. The bathrooms were outdated, and the mold in the grout of the shower needed to be cleaned. The breakfast buffet the front desk recommended was in the Rainmaker section... There was so much dust along the woodwork!!!! This wasn't new from the night before and the A/C system blowing, it was THICK... And the food was not very... Read more

We have been to Foxwoods several times ,but have never reviewed it. My kids love coming here and what you will read was actually written by my 11 year old who asked to go there as a birthday present! I think that speaks volumes. Here is what she wrote: This place is the best place for family! It has 3 pools A bowling alley An arcade And a mall (tanger outlets) The rooms are clean. The staff is friendly! The house cleaners do a really good job! They have Valet parking

I had a King size suite on the 5t floor. The room was a nice size. A dresser and small closet, desk, couch, chair with hassock and a bathroom that included an additional sink outside of the full bath. (See photos). The bedding and linen was first rate. I didn't require room service. The hallways and elevator were clean. Personnel (front desk, phone operator and housekeeping friendly. Our first time at Foxwoods. The complex is very large and spread out so be prepared for A lot of walking. Very big casino with lots of shops and restaurants . Was very busy on the weekend ,a little to busy . We liked it better on the weekdays. Lots to do . Our suite was nice and large but could use an update.

We checked into the Great Cedar Hotel on 8/7. We were there early but we were given a room immediately. Check in was fast and the girl was very pleasant. The rooms are very nice with a refrigerator and safe. It also has complimentary coffee. The beds are very comfortable and the room was very clean. We prefer to stay here rather than at Mohegan Sun as Foxwoods has a much better comp program. The hotel room is excellent at the Grand Pequet. The only down fall to staying here is that it is very expensive to eat. I compare it to Manhattan price wise. They have been very accommodating for our work training and there are over 100 of us for this training. My other complaint is the floor I stayed on, there have been some extremely loud and disruptive people. But it is a casino so I guess you can expect that.

I have stayed here twice and both times were great. I am not rich so we waited until a discount rate was available with my playing card. Even with a discount rate our room was perfect. Clean, VERY COMFY bed/pillows, shower was so nice I didn't want to get out, and the view breathtaking from the window... Skip room service and spend the money in the breakfast buffet definitely worth it! Fresh food and a guy making omelets to order.
