A lovely hotel in a splendid location overlooking the beach. Book-in time was 4 pm, which is later than at other hotels. We had booked two double rooms and one was ready after lunch. It was superb - a beautiful view of the ocean from windows which covered the whole wall, a balcony with table and two chairs. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious with a large TV and fireplace (electric) The bathroom had a big bath, walk in shower and good toiletries. Bad points: There were no instructions... The exterior of this hotel was really quite beautiful. My husband and I agreed that it was pretty striking. The beach area is smallish but nice. There were many rocky areas with fun little tide pools and crabs and such. Our room was clean and the bathroom was a good size with a full-sized soaker tub and separate shower. The tub was cast iron. Let me tell you, that makes a huge difference when it comes to a long bath staying hot! The view was not very good. We were in room 314. Try not to... Read more

We (two couples) stayed 1 night at this hotel when traveling from NYC to Boston. The location is great, right on the beach. When we arrived after flying in from overseas, there was quite a hustle and bustle at the hotel because there was a wedding party going on. There was loud music what did not contribute to our comfort, especially when our friends who had a room not too far away from the wedding party wanted to go to sleep. As a room category we opted for 2 Double Beds Madison Shoreline View.... Read more

Quality shows. It is apparent in both the physical construction and upkeep of this 32 room hotel and the welcoming professionalism of its staff. Each room, with its own balcony, working electric fireplace, sumptuous en suite bathroom with shower and soaking tub, is a pleasure. Both dinner and breakfast experiences in the hotel restaurant were excellent. The food was delicious and served properly. The waitstaff knowledgable, courteous, and prompt. We would definitely come here again.

The hotel is situated on the Long Island Sound in Madison CT a very quaint town along the Sound. The hotel was recently built with all the right amenities and fits in with the character of the area and provides a first class experience. A great hotel for a get away as a couple or a family. Rooms are spacious and we had a terrace which we enjoyed. The beach was small but sufficient as you could go for a nice stroll on the beach past beautiful beach side homes.

My sister and I went for a girl's get away for my birthday recently and stayed two nights. It exceeded our expectations in almost every way! The hotel is gorgeous, quiet, and quaint with wonderful amenities and an accommodating staff. We stayed in room 311 and although the balcony does have a gorgeous view of the ocean, it also includes the view of a rooftop, neighboring houses and a vent from the kitchen so you are constantly smelling what they are cooking so just be aware. We so much wanted to love this hotel. A classic "love the view of L.I. sound" hotel for which it is more than obvious the owners have spent on details. We had a small porch to sit out on in the morning and watch the sun rise while we drank coffee. Plenty of room and a "killer" view....if only we weren't both in almost screaming pain from sleeping on what felt like a $2 mattress. No matter what we did we could help but roll into the center of this severely over "slept-in" mattress throughout the ... Read more

I was placed in a room that was 1 of a cluster of 3. The room next door contained members of a wedding party. We stayed 2 nights and they were loud and woke us up frequently both nights. The second night was some of the most egregious violations of noise guidelines I've ever seen. The after party was in the room next-door to us and there were cases upon cases of beer and wine lining the hall outside of my room. Get ready to have the peace and tranquility of your evening destroyed if you stay the night of one of the hotel's "concerts." The third rate rock played right outside the building will be so loud that you won't be able to sit on your balcony, or even comfortably have a conversation in your room. Not optimal for overnight stay because check in at 4pm so you miss the beach that day and then with check out 11 or 12 (late) you essentially miss the beach the next day. Beach itself is ok. The room, balcony and view from the hotel is lovely. The neighborhood is quaint and close to town for shopping if needed. I felt that attention to detail in cleaning the room was a little sub par for this level of hotel. Some beach grasses from the prior inhabitant remained in the shower and on the floor in the living area. The "fireplace" is kitchy - best only as a night light. We requested a handicap accessible room and got 1 of their 2. It had a much appreciated walk-in shower. A few minor complaints: bathroom counter was too small and the surface was marred; no light over shower; no bathroom fan; poor water pressure in the shower; no water glasses in bathroom; had to get listing of TV stations from the front desk; murphy bed with no box spring; couldn't see clock beside bed when in bed because the sides of the bed obscured the line of sight. My husband and I stayed here for 5 days in August and had a lovely vacation without kids. We ate breakfast outside at The Wharf each day which was so nice. The view was beautiful. We also enjoyed their happy hour outdoors. The room was very nice and the balcony was wonderful. We loved having our morning coffee and pre-dinner/post dinner cocktails sitting on the balcony, looking at the water. The wood slat coverings over the French doors did not block out morning light so it's difficult to slee... Read more

Our family members went for a wedding on site. The grounds and location on the beach are lovely. Our 3 rooms were attractive, nicely furnished with plantation shades and balconies but not spacious. Beds and linens were nice quality and very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathrooms however were missing basic amenities: no fan or a make-up/magnifying mirror and had poor (dim and yellow) lighting. The full length mirror was located in the now foggy bathroom, with no other mirror outside ... Read more

First the positives. A newer building, nicely kept and with lovely water views, in a quiet residential setting of a cute New England town. Ways it could improve - while staff are very cheerful and prompt (except the restaurant who are slow) they lack follow through. We asked 3 times for our bathroom fan to be repaired and each time were asked "who did you speak to previously?" Not sure it's my job to track that. Valet parking is mildly annoying and should be disclosed upfront, though to the... Read more

Arrived in this off beat hotel in Madison on a misty Sunday. The views from the very clean and updated room were wonderful. The same as from the restaurant and outdoor deck. There was Long Island Sound, the water, rocks for the fishermen, and an adjacent sandy beach. Fortunately, arrived in time for their special Sunday Brunch. Very extensive menu and an expected leisurely pace to it all. Watched a beach side wedding, and locals visit the adjacent municipal jetty, beach and parking area. We... Read more

We love staying at this hotel because the views are amazing, it is very relaxing, quiet and clean. I cannot say enough about how pleasant everyone is and how extremely helpful the staff is. However, we have gone two years in a row, around the same time both years, and this time our dining experience was VASTLY different than the previous year. I hope that things improve, because last year the food matched the hotel, and this year I have to say that the majority of our food was either overdone, o... Read more
