I came here on business and was told to stay here, so right away I wasn't happy. I usually stay at Marriott hotels when I travel for business and never stayed at a holiday inn. Well, it really was better than expected, and I feel for the amount you pay, you get a good value. All the staff I dealt with was excellent, check in was a breeze, got a free bottle of water upon arrival too. The rooms with king size bed are open and big, very cozy. Rooms come with a large tv, fridge, microwave, Keuri... Read more

Had to stay one night before my College reunion, and wanted to stay downtown to explore New London, where I had not been for over 30 years. Front desk friendly and aware of late arrival. I went for a late snack at the good Italian restaurant and bar off the lobby, with super friendly bar tender. My King room was clean , spacious , and comfortable.

This hotel is old, outdated and grubby. If this is the highest rated hotel in New London, the others must be atrocious. Our room smelt overpoweringly of cheap air freshener so much so we could barely breathe. The service was fine- we asked to be moved and were shown to an identical room that thankfully wasn't suffocating. The furniture was old and dirty, and we weren't game to sit on the couch. The coffee and tea making facilities (a cheap coffee pod machine) were terrible- all plastic cups and... Read more

This hotel is just "ok". The location is okay but the website is very misleading. The pool and "beach" are not what was led to believe. The staff was nice but not very well informed. The only really positive experience here was with the onsite restaurant. The food was delicious!

Nice rooms.. 1. Reservations were difficult as I was using Holiday Inn Points for one night but wanted to stay 2 nights. 2.One elevator out- made getting to Our 4th room difficult.. Room service menu was different than what was offered in their restaurant.. Prices very expensive.. Chose to eat some where else Will not stay here again

Family of 4, stayed here for 2 nights. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was spacious and had adequate toiletries. The pool and gym were of decent size, even with several people they did not feel crowded. Pool washroom had shampoo and bodywash already. One of the elevators was not working but since we were on the 2nd floor we utilized the stairs which is much faster. WiFi was slow. Printer at the business center was not working. Our stay included free breakfast. On the day that w... Read more

I stayed here last year and wasn't that impressed, I assumed they would have improved but it was worse. First thing was that one of the lifts was broken and there was no attempt to repair it in the week I was there. The second lift would occasionally get stuck so we ended up using the stairs. Secondly, the Wifi is incredibly bad. I was here on business and it was barely able to ready email, certainly not up to a Skype call. This was the same no matter what room you were in (I had several colleag... Read more

Got into this hotel very late and was welcomed by a warm and friendly staff member. He quickly got us checked into our rooms and told us information about the area. The rooms were very large and quite clean. The bed was very comfortable. They don't have a free breakfast, but there is restaurant in the hotel and the food was delicious. I was served fruit with breakfast and when I explained that I don't care for melon the waiter offered to bring me other types of fruit. The hotel is nice, ... Read more

Beautiful spacious lobby and nice desk team. Very friendly and helpful. 1 of the 2 elevators did not work (as indicated in a prior posting.... looks like this has been ongoing for some time). That was a bit frustrating because of the consistent wait. They DID have the service elevator going too...but, unless the front desk guided you to that, you may not know. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfy. Parking was free. Ice Machine worked fine day 1.... but was totally out on the morning o... Read more

Location...okay, because it was central to everything. Rough part of town. Rooms are huge and clean. Front desk guy was nice. Had a horrible night. Must be a party hotel. Guests are LOUD....REALLY LOUD!!!! Asked if there was a noise curfew-didn't matter. Kids running up and down the hallway. Stayed in room 421 and heard the ice machine making ice all night long -as if the Incredible Hulk were eating chips....Sirens of emergency vehicles through the night....not the hotel to come to if you NEED a... Visiting Mystic with family. Holiday Inn was perfect because it is near many attractions, Brandon was very pleasant when we checked in. My kids enjoyed the pool which was very clean, our room was also very clean and spacious. We will definitely come back to this hotel when in Mystic Area.

Most of the time we stay at branded hotel because of the consistency they have to offer. I stay at IHG properties because of this and more. This property didn't disappoint. It all started with the front desk reception. Brian and Conor, who really made me feel like I had just stepped into their home. The ownership they took for insuring me a great stay was genuine. What was so amazing is that they remembered my name. Trial as that may sound, Conor address me very confidently amen I came down to a... Read more

Very good location not far from the I95 and river waterfront. My room was huge and the bed very comfortable. Wouldn't I live so far I'd actually probably stay there for a holiday ! The restaurant is fine. The manager/supervisor, Brian, is a great guy and totally committed to make sure you have a pleasant stay ! On the downside the elevator is slow - also, the wifi can be slow at peek times. Would recommend anytime for both business and leisure.

Decided to stay at this hotel because of its proximity to Ocean Beach (about 10m drive). I had not been to Ocean Beach since I was a child and was excited to bring my kids here. Booked two rooms via IHG app and accidentally booked one of the rooms incorrectly. I immediately called the hotel to correct the error, and spoke to someone named Conor who assured me it would be changed to correct room the next day (I called late evening). Something told me to call and confirm the night before we left j... Read more

Great hotel, large clean rooms, microwave and large refrigerator in room. Comfortable beds and pillows. Better than most Marriotts, Weston etc for the price. Beautiful lobby and restaurant . Centrally located, very good staff, free parking. Would definitely stay here again.

The WiFi and TV channels are minus! Every channel but TVLand on TV was a constant scramble. Could not get news. Be sure you do not intend to relax in room or get any work done on internet. Lost connection constantly. Luckily Cell phone had two bars. Not great but could text easy. Really frustrating. Rooms were clean. Other services were average.

We stayed here back while it was still under construction. It's fully renovated now and we had a great stay. What a difference. Easy check in, clean rooms, and the proximity to the cross sound ferry is great. Will return again.

I have stayed in 4 different hotels in the past week and a half and I must say I appreciate the privacy that I feel at this hotel. It was very quiet and I couldn't hear every little thing that happened in the hallway. The room size was also very large which is great if multiple people are staying in one room. the bedding, and towels in the bathroom are clean and fresh which is what I examine whenever I check into a hotel. The lobby area as well as the modest gym were also kept clean and neat... Read more

The property is not the newest but then that is fitting for New London. Place is clean and in a good location, near water and easy walking distance to most things. The on-site restaurant closes around 10pm which was a little before we arrived. Overall fine place and good value as expected for Holiday Inn chain

Stayed for one night on our way to Plymouth. Check in was painless! We were given a disabled room, no idea why! I think it was probably a bit larger than the average room. It was clean and the bed was fairly comfy. Microwave and fridge came in very handy. Disappointed that there was no free coffee in the lobby which is the norm at holiday inn expresses so l expected at least the same here. Nor was breakfast included which l did expect. Parking is free on site and free wi-fi. It's only about a 10... Read more

My daughter and I spent a night here. We found it to be clean and comfortable. A couple of things that I did notice that were not so great. The toilet paper holder was cheap and out dated. Every time you tried to use the TP, the roll fell off. The curtains didn't close tightly. There was a 18 inch gap. I woke up twice because the parking lot light was directly in my line of sight. Otherwise, I would stay there again.

Stayed here for two nights between a visit to Block Island. The ferry was a short 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel and room were clean and comfortable. The one exception would be the air conditioner made annoying clicking sounds.

My wife and I had tix for Tim McGraw concert at Mohegan Sun. We went here because they offered a shuttle to and from the casino. The staff couldn't have been nicer, and the shuttle was well worth the stay. Driver was on time leaving, and on time picking us up. We will consider coming here again when we go to another concert at the casino.

My son and I stayed there while looking at colleges in that area. A very nice, clean hotel - totally remodeled just a few years ago. Everything about the facility and our experience was extremely positive - the staff, the housekeeping, access in and out, and the breakfast buffet. Will stay there again if we're back in the area.

Loud, student party hotel with weak, inconsistent shower & weak, inconsistent internet. It smells. Front desk, etc. clean & hotel was not a dump. But the internet barely worked, the water pressure was almost non-existent & the place is a party hotel for students at Conn College, so it's loud all night. We've stayed there a few times, due to its proximity to the college, but it isn't pleasant.

Honestly, there are not so many reasons to stay in New London unless you have planned to take one of the first ferries to the Islands. Walking downtown quickly tells you that you're in some sort of a ghost city with very few restaurants, many empty parking lots and huge trains horning every next minute.... The Holliday Inn is a good quality-price deal if you just intend to stay overnight. The rooms are big, well equiped albeit average looking. You can easily park and be at the Pier in 3 minutes... We were looking for a place close to the waterfront and Bank street to stay in New London. Holiday Inn was a few blocks walk and we are IHG members so we chose to stay here. (Though after our stay, we really regretted staying in New London at all, as there was nothing to see! We visited on a Monday which for some strange reason is a closure day for 95% of attractions and businesses). The options for accommodation in New London is extremely limited to say the least.
