The location of this hotel, right off of I-84 and within walking distance of downtown Hartford attractions, is wonderful. There were three weddings at the hotel the weekend we stayed there, and staff, particularly at the front desk, seemed overwhelmed. While staff did the best they could, it certainly lessened our enjoyment of the property as we started our stay with a lengthy wait to complete the check-in process after having already checked in online and requested a digital key (which still ... Convenient location right off the highway and welcoming friendly staff, however the physical plant has some issues. The lobby is being renovated so on entering you queue up in a very small and crowded area to check in. The restaurant had quick and friendly service. The rooms had a great view of Hartford, but we're a bit tired-- seemed a bit more holiday innish than Hilton.

The staff was very friendly. The room was ok. Sleeping directly over the highway is very noisy. The room could really use an update. The front desk is undergoing renovation causing lines to wrap awkwardly into the lobby. The conference space is great and the hotel catering has been top notch.

I attended a conference at this particular hotel in Downtown Hartford. Overall the staff was friendly, and the hotel is is nice and in a great location. The on site restaurant is good (I only had coffee but the service was quick) and overall, i consider it a nice place to stay if your coming downtown. The rooms were in good condition and the beds were comfortable. The cleaning staff was very friendly and did a great job accommodating any requests we had. I actually never wanted to stay at this hotel because I wouldn't get my points from another chain. That was a year ago. I come back again always as I find the service impeccable for this price point. This area is historical and quite beautiful. I'm aware of the concerns of safety but took the same caution as I would in NYC. I wondered to pearl street and found my way to the water front where folks were doing aerobics and a few other events. Police officers were present, but nothing else, jus... Read more

I've stayed at the Hilton Hartford several times. The hotel itself is nice. Rooms are a good size and kept neat and clean. I do have to talk about the staff, which moved this review from a four star to a five. I've personally witnessed some extremely unreasonable guests - I've lived all my life in NY and these were some of the rudest people I've EVER encountered - in my last stay and the front desk staff (particularly Jackie) were both kind and patient. We went to Hartford for work and this is a perfect work hotel - it's efficient, it's clean, it's professional. It's not charming or quirky or interesting, but that's not why you go to work hotels. I would recommend it highly within those parameters. I liked that it had fridges without minibars, so you could put your own milk/yoghurt/soft drinks there. I liked the quality of the bedding, though the towels were getting a little thin, and frankly they could have had more of them. The loc... Read more

Could not say enough about the staff in this hotel! I travel quite a bit, and I am pretty easy going, but when I feel the staff goes above and beyond I like to share. From the front desk, bellman, bartenders...every single person was amazing and helpful. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. Very close to all in the city! Great for the Marathon!

Boyfriend and I were in town Oct 7-9 for the Eversource Hartford Marathon, we choose this hotel due to its proximity to the starting line as well as local restaurants. Hotel was clean, front desk staff were extremely friendly. Room was huge and just what we needed for the weekend. We used the pool and hot tub frequently before and after running the marathon and it was the best way to relax after running 26.2 miles. Room was clean, updated and the bed was so comfy.

I stayed two nights in the Hilton Hartford and don't really have any major complaints. Overall it was a perfectly adequate stay and the staff are really nice. I did have an incident when I first checked in where my allocated room smelled really strongly of smoke. (Second hotel in a couple of days where this happened... Do they just like smoking in non smoking rooms in America?) The lady on reception was lovely about it and arranged for my stuff to be moved to a new room whilst I was out at dinne... Read more

This hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the location is convenient to the XL Center, and downtown dining. The staff at check in and check out, and Jalene in the Bistro were great! However, it took 2 phone calls and about 30 minutes to get extra towels delivered to my room. Overall, we had a good stay and would return.

Visited Hartford for my niece's wedding. Everyone stayed in the Hilton which was near the rehearsal dinner restaurant and the church and reception venue. Our room was small but comfortable. Average bathroom size. The bed was very comfortable with enough pillows and a comfortable comforter. We were able to control the heat/air conditioning and it worked well. There was a fridge in the room as well as a coffeemaker. Also nice to have a small closet to hang our clothes. The front desk was he... Read more

We are required to book at this hotel through our work as we come with a bulk amount of employees from all over the United States. The room needs to be deep cleaned, or even updated it had a gross musky smell of cigarettes. The windows were very dirty and the internet was slow, slow, slow.

The Hilton Hartford hotel is located in the business and dining district of the historic city of Hartford and is conveniently located at the intersections of I-91 and I-8. Hotel guests can reach over 30 fine restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and performing arts venues within easy walking distance of the hotel's entrance on Trumbull Street. The hotel is connected to the Hartford XL Center via a skywalk, which provides hotel guests access to outstanding Connecticut area sports like UCONN basketbal... Read more

I usually try to stay at Hilton hotels. Usually I can't go wrong. Came for a conference and the lobby is very nice. I would give The restaurant inside the hotel 4/5 stars for sure. Excellent service, varied menu and wonderful and delicious entrees and appetizers. The room was nice; comfortable beds. Housekeeping was very accommodating to our requests. The only thing wrong who's is a bit nasty, was the mild I saw on top of the soap dish area in the shower. There was also mold on the left side if ... Read more

Was my second stay at this hotel during a convention. Brings you what you expect in a Hilton. Was on 'club floor' room - but although it was club floor rate, was not on an identified club floor per say. I guess they sell as many rooms as they can on 'club' surcharge, filling up from 22nd floor (i was on the 20th floor). Club rate gives you access to lounge with breakfast in the morning; fine continental quality but was pretty crowded - hotel was full during my stay. Good attention and courtesy... Read more

Stayed here overnight for a conference- close to train station but a little further away than a walk - pleasant stay overall- helpful staff (they let the shuttle take me to the train station the next morning even though it was before service started)- beds were a little mushy- but overall decent for a quick trip.

My initial impressions of the hotel were positive. I thought the lobby, bar, and restaurant were all modern and updated. The fitness center was adequate. I did not use the pool or hot tub. Our room was average. It was very clean. The problems. The bathroom was very small. For example, if the bathroom door was open it almost touched the toilet. The air vent, used during showers was the strangest thing of all. It was like a port. You had to turn the inside portion clockwise to close it and count... Read more

This is one of the hotels that we are asked to stay in when we travel to Hartford. It is not a safe location because when you step outside, there are hobos and junkies right outside the hotel. Be prepared for that. The food at the hotel is terrible. This time, there is construction going on all night and the hotel staff did not have the courtesy to let me and other guests know about this during check in. The front desk staff were very unprofessional when I asked them about this. I was very surpr... Read more

Stayed here for a conference. Room was fine - not special but clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were nice especially the lady working when I checked out at 4AM on Oct 21 - she called a cab for me and talked with me until it arrived. Bartender was pleasant each evening. Ate dinner in the restaruant one night and the food was average - I was too tired to go any where so it met my needs. My stay on October 14, 2016 was the 2nd time I've stayed at this property. It is a convenient 3-block walk from and to the Amtrak station. Check-in and check-out were friendly experiences. My HHonors Diamond status was recognized. I was given a voucher for breakfast even though I have a points option in lieu of breakfast. My room was at the end of a hallway as requested, although on a higher floor which I consider to be an upgrade. It was quiet and comfortable, allowing a good night's sle... Read more

I always complained about hotels in Hartford and ended up sticking to the Marriott - which is great but charges outrageous prices. This time around, the Marriott was $470 a night, so heart-broken, I booked the Hilton at $200 or so. It is the BEST deal in town! The gym and pool are outright fantastic. The pool is long enough for true swimming - not just a kiddie's pool. The gym is airy and bright with lots of good accessories / equipment. The lobby and restaurants are fun and modern. On the edge of the main drag the Raddison, though pricey, proved to be within walking distance of Hartford Stage and TheatreWorks as well as the Wadsworth Athenaeum. These were the primary reasons for our visit. While discounted through Expedia we got zapped with $17 a day for parking and $30 for two at the breakfast buffet. The room was fine but all too typical. I travel a lot for work and have always relied on the reliability of the Hilton brand. Unfortunately this property does not reflect others that I have stayed in. The furniture, style and carpet in the room are functional but well behind the times in style. The bed is not comfortable and the wifi is very spotty at best. It is within walking distance to a lot of the city but there are a lot of other hotels to chose from. I would not chose this one again.

I am at this hotel as i write this for a conference. The restaurant last evening had a sign to wait to be seated. We waited 15 minutes and was seated by a staff member who was apologetic. Today we have vouchers for breakfast and had to wait 45 minutes to be seated and the buffet was a step up from continental. The staff was hurried and all around unorganized. They were even suggesting we go across the street to Dunkin Donuts. I cannot express my disappointment enough.

For $299 a night plus $18.00 parking fee every night, I expect something amazing. My main concern, which was reported twice, is that housekeeping left my room door propped open all day and until I arrived back at the room at 8 pm. This is one of the worst full-service Hilton properties I have stayed at. The rooms are very dated. As a Hilton Diamond member, I was told I was "upgraded" to a king-size bed; but that is what I booked. The attendants in the Executive Lounge looked like they didn't care about their jobs and ignored the guests.
