The bed was comfortable. The place was pretty gross and had nasty odors. While smoking outside I politely spoke with a gentleman that worked there who asked me for a cigarette and then proceeded to tell me that he lives at the motel it was awkward and uncomfortable. The front desk man was very condescending in how he spoke to us. The breakfast attendant was breathing down my neck, hovering, and tapping while I made my coffee because apparently I was inconveniencing her. Overall the place seemed ... Read more

Building is dated and also needs cosmetic repairs. Door knob leading to outside loose and about to fall off/towel holder on wall in bathroom did fall off/wall paper coming off over head board of bed. To traverse bottom level is kind of a maze. Could probably use a few more Exit signs. Guess for the price, an OK place to flop for a couple of days. On a positive note they have a good friendly staff, who were extremely polite, helpful and quick to answer questions we had about the service an... Read more

The room was very clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were awesome. The bathroom was small but not tiny. The fridge worked great. The pool was not hot and it was disgusting. The hot tub is small and was warm not hot. We did go about an hour before closing time so that could contribute to it but when it comes to the pool I do not think so. As for breakfast...they have a nice area to eat but the breakfast could use some work. When they say waffles they mean the frozen kind. The location is gre... Read more

Maintenance is a definite issue. Our room door handle had to be wiggled to be locked. There was definitely water damage to ceiling and it was poorly half painted. The printer would not work for boarding passes. Room still had trash on floor when we checked in

My first room had a balcony door that would not lock. I waited over 30" for someone to come and look at it. I finally went down and had the room changed. The new room was dirty, hair in the tub and a gross desk chair. The whole place felt old and dark.

Reservations were set weeks in advance, the night of check in we called to let them know we would require late check in, and clerk told me to ignore the reservation cancellation email he had just sent. I made the call at noon...not sure why they had a trigger finger about canceling without contacting me first, but all was set. When we checked in (4 room reservation) 2 couple got the same room keys, awkward!!! Breakfast was good and room was comfortable. So all in all good experience.

The pictures online are very misleading. The rooms are small and the furniture is run down and all marked up. The TV didn't even work and the cable was unplugged and broken, so all we had was static noise the whole time we were there. I dont think Groton is the nicest place in the first place, so maybe thats why? But the other Ramada that is in Mystic is NOT associated with this Ramada... this Ramada (in GROTON) is privately owned and just not up the standards I expected/wished it to be. I will ... Read more

Car auction and Mistic Seaport exhibition had most hotels booked. We wanted to relive some good memories in downtown Mystic. Only room that we found was the Ramada. This facility needs some TLC. The siding, outside doors, window airconditioners looked beat. First step inside was the red flag .... musty carpeting .... Two minutes in the room found a water bug crawling on the carpet. Hinges and most things metal were rusted. Laminent on the inside of the bathroom door was peeling and cracked. Bed... Read more

Staff was nice enough, rooms seemed pretty clean, but everything is old and in need of an upgrade, especially for the price! This should be about a $60-70/night hotel. We paid over $120.

This place is dirty and run down Elevator walls were discussing control panel was falling off wall. Very poor lighting in the bathroom and the exhaust fan was falling out of the ceiling The curtains were ripped and the carpet looked like it was last replaced in the 1980s Hallways are very dingy FYI - the pool as well as breakfast lounge are in the basement, I will leave it at that. The TV channels were maybe 20 tops they must have the cheapest Dish Network package. I checked in on June 23rd and... Read more

Overall not bad, room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful. Couple things for me was the amount of chlorine in pool made my eyes burn and my room was non smoking room but the location of my room was right by where people go to smoke so I got a lot of the cigarette smell in my room.

For a modest price you get so much. Great staff, nice breakfast, indoor heated pool, dog friendly, and close to so many interesting places ( Historic Mystic, casinos, etc.) We go here several times a year just to relax.

The hotel itself wasn't bad, soft beds. The front desk guy was definitely rude to my kids. Who are 14 and 17. Apparently he don't like anyone walking on the 2nd floor which is what we had to do to get anywhere. They asked him for towels for the pool which was less than average with a pitiful hot tub, and yelled at them. When I 1st checked in the same guy asked how old my children were. Mostly meant for a couple day adult stay, not kid friendly by any means.

I booked a weekend trip with friends through Wyndham reservations for this hotel. I was quoted a price for 5 adults & roll away bed. When arrived at hotel, the charges were more and the front desk manager, Eric, was difficult to deal with. He would not look into the issue stating I needed to contact Wyndham since we reserved through them as if they were not affiliating in any way. If Wyndham books for Ramada they should work together and resolve customer issues appropriately. Not make it th... Read more

From the moment I made the reservations on the phone I was put off. The Manager needs to take lessons in how to speak to his customers if he would like good reviews. The hotel was extremely hot in the hallways in the elevator, which smelled horrible, the pool, which is in the basement, is more like a sauna, no air circulation, there is carpet in the pool area that is wet which cannot be good (MOLD), the continental breakfast is in the basement as well (Sauna) which had curdled milk. My wife and I were quite comfortable at the Ramada Groton and would return in the future. It was a shame (and beyond the Ramada's control) that the TV stations weren't working properly due to a dispute. Also there was early morning noise from construction that was going on in the property next to the hotel (again, beyond Ramada's control).

Disappointed in overall hotel. Smell of smoke on no smoking floor, broken desk chair, pool area desperately needs to be redone. Couldn't connect to internet. Used hotels computer which was dusty and dirty. People living in lower level next to pool area, (ashtrays, barbeque grill, toys, dog) which lowers the quality of the hotel.

This place looks to be an old Motel that Ramada took over. Still has smoking and non smoking rooms so the place smells like smoke, has burn holes in many places and needs a serious updating. For almost $190/night, I wouldn't stay there again. A loud clicking noise in the wall kept us up all night and I spoke to someone else who complained of the same noises.

The facility needs a bit of repair and updating. Beds were fine. A/C was loud and the room stank of old tobacco smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. THe breakfast was poorly restocked and on the second day of our stay they had run out of butter for the pancakes, were down to 2 containers of yogurt and the juice jugs were empty.

Very much in need of some updating. The hotel interior looks very outdated and the hallways do not smell very good. No rooms available to switch to. Had a sizable fridge which was nice. Also had a small microwave oven. Hotel had free wifi, which worked ok. Had a free continental breakfast. Didn't realize I was given a smoking room when I reserved it. (didn't even know it was still an option), upon arrival I requested a non smoking room and was refused. I was worried about my stay here as, once I booked my room, I found a slew of bad reviews on another site about this hotel. These bad reviews included poor front desk staff, odd smells, stained bedding, dirty walls, dirty pool, etc. However, I did not encounter most of these issues. 1.
