Great and very helpful staff. Property clean as are the rooms. Had a conference room for a training session, the break and lunch was on time a good. I was lucky enough to be there on a Wednesday evening and signed up for a free wine tasting, they had 3 white wines. For attending each person received a glass of wine for 1/2 price. It could only have been better if I was there on a red wine night, my choice of wines.

First, let me say that I am a lifetime Marriott Platinum member and a current Platinum Elite so I stay at a lot of Marriott properties. This Courtyard is most differently in the top 30% of the Courtyard brand. Both the lobby and the room I stayed in were recently remodeled and the hotel was very well taken care of. Employees were very friendly and check in was extremely efficient. The location is nice as there are about a half dozen restaurants that are easily within walking distance. In fac... Read more

I've stayed at this location several times. The customer service is consistently good. The lobby and the rooms are clean, well-cared for. The location is good (for the area), with restaurants within walking distance and a full sized gym just down the street. It's also close to a Walmart and a grocery store. The hotel gym is small. There is an indoor pool, but no hot tub. There is a lovely outdoor courtyard with a fire pit. In the winter time, parking can be a problem after significant snowfall, ... Read more

Here for a conference. They've upgraded alot of the hotel in the last year so I was pleasantly surprised with the accommodation and the training venue. Rooms are usual new modern Marriott style, some fixings and windows, some bathrooms are still older though, but not a problem. Everything is clean and works, there is lots of space, a large fridge, big desk, good lighting, large closets, large bathrooms (with a tub as shower) and the windows open slightly (my favorite). The Starbucks Bistro has... Read more

Well, my husband and I were in town for an event Saturday at a nearby hotel, which was full. Even the reserved rooms at this hotel were booked, but I have AAA, and the rate turned out to be less than the reserved group rate! So we arrived late Friday night (I had mentioned this when I booked). Connor greeted us at the desk, and I must commend this young man for being a perfect gentleman, kind, easy, polite, friendly...assured, and competent. He made it all easy. He gave us a high and quiet room.... Read more

Stayed here as part of training event. The conference room staff - most notably Alice is outstanding. Front desk professional and polite. Rooms comfortable and quiet. I am a light sleeper - if you are shoot for the rooms in the x18 - x24 numbers. Breakfast foods were well prepared. Starbucks coffee in lounge (as usual).

We were here for a softball tournament. The great thing was there was a refrigerator in the room. But no microwave and it didn't include breakfast. Otherwise, the room was nice employees friendly and helpful and lots of restaurants and grocery stores in walking distance. Highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed here for 2 nights to attend a rehearsal dinner and wedding in Middletown. I have stayed at other Courtyards, mostly in CA and was pleasantly surprised to find this one in the middle of CT so modern and attractive. I believe the rooms had been recently refurbished with both furniture and décor which was obvious upon entering the room. White seersucker-like bedspreads set off the taupe and brown theme that was carried into the immaculate bathroom. Large screen TV was easy to operate bu... Read more

Here for a wedding over weekend and we stayed 2 nights. Enjoyed the facilities like the open courtyard with fire pit. Congenial and convenient front desk. Room was standard with 2 beds; enough room for 4 people. Very good bathroom and ante counter with small fridge. Location was close to diner and other shops. Would stay again if in area.

Excellent staff. They let us check in early. Room was clean and very comfortable. We had to return after checkout. Our son left items behind in his room. Staff collected those items and promptly brought them to the front desk for us! The location was perfect for both the wedding and reception. Many conveniences nearby; food, gas, drug store, grocery. Very nice stay.

We stayed here for a visit to Wesleyan - just 15 min from campus. Plenty of cheap food options close by. No highway noise, and I wasn't on the courtyard so I can't comment on that. I would stay here again. It was just a bed for a night, and it fulfilled that well.

We needed a place to stay or our trip to and from Boston. This hotel was reasonable and a great value. I especially appreciated being put into a Jacuzzi room on our return trip after walking around Boston all day, it was wonderful to relax and soak in that tub! Special thanks to the young lady who was at the desk that evening.

Checked in with the Marriott app, notified when room was ready, easy! Very friendly and polite staff. Stayed in king room with sofa. Room was modern and very attractive, had a refrigerator, bright bathroom, large closet, desk, TV, and coffee maker. Bed was great, pillows were fluffy and plentiful. Very convenient to I-91 and Route 9, Chilis adjacent, other restaurants nearby. There is a market in the lobby area for snacks and drinks, and a Bistro with a Starbucks too. Free parking. Stayed here overnight in order to visit The Essex Steam Train. I was impressed with the staff both front desk and at the Bistro. Common areas are lovely, fireplace outside and comfortable Bistro area with bar and light fare options, hotel is in walking distance to Chili's, McDonald's, Burger King, yogurt place, etc... Rooms are average, simple... unremarkable but clean and comfortable. I would stay here again, didn't see anything in the general area that would be nicer. Better than ex... Read more

This is a larger Courtyard Hotel with a very nice common area and good service. Guest rooms were a good size with comfy beds and in a quiet area. The pool and fitness center seemed nice, however I did not use them. I will return when in the area.

Great location near Hartford, freshly updated common area with updated bistro bar. Pleasant stay with safe, plentiful parking not too far off of the highway. The staff was super friendly and on-line check in was a breeze. Room was quiet and clean without any complaints from anyone in our party. Would stay here again.

I spent a week here doing work in the local area. It is a typical nice Marriott property. Staff was friendly and helpful. An in-house "bistro" serves breakfast and sandwiches ($$$). Rooms were well appointed and Internet worked well. Bathroom was showing a little wear and tear. Fo the most part the room was very quiet. However, my room faced in on an inner courtyard with a bar. This could get noisy at night. I would stay here again.

Everytime I stay at this hotel I feel like home. Staff is so nice and treats you like an old friend. Very convenient on having a Starbucks corner close to the lobby. I really recommend ! Next time you will be in Cromwell / Middletown stay at this wonderful place !!!!!

Was not that busy, but still seemed to be a problem for 2 people to deal with the bar/restaurant (maybe 10-12 people in the area, not all trying to order) Food is extremely expensive for what you get; quality is very low. Sure, they had a trainee, but the other person seemingly in charge spent more time on the phone than dealing with customers, it appeared. No CNN on TVs? Not a deal breaker.. just seemed odd. On a random note, at one point a person walked in through the lobby, by my table, m... Read more
