We stayed here two days for a conference. The hotel is very pretty and layed out nicely. The room was large and spacious and the beds very comfortable. However there was no fridge or microwave in the room and no free breakfast. There is a restaurant in the hotel that looked nice but we didn't eat there. There is also a nice sized flat screen in the room and free wifi. The hotel is situated in a run down part of town as other reviews stated but if appears to be well patrolled by the police... I'm a University of Bridgeport graduate and I come back to town once or twice a year to attend events at the university. I always stay at the Holiday Inn in downtown. The location is convenient to the university and to restaurants in downtown. Parking is just across the street. The rooms are your standard Holiday Inn. The way the hotel is situated on main street you don't get the best views but the rate can't be beat and the staff are always so friendly. I normally take a flight into Newark... Read more

I arrived late on the night before a meeting. I only had a little trouble finding the hotel as I came off the interstate highway. After I checked in, I had to move my car to the parking garage across the street, the hotel does validate the parking but charges $10/night for the validation. The front desk personnel were welcoming and friendly. I thought the lobby was nicely decorated. The hotel was clean and well-maintained in general and I found my room clean, comfortable and exactly the room... Read more

We stayed 2 nights for a basketball tournament. The hotel and staff are very good . The room was big the bathroom was a little small. It was very clean. Parking is right behind the hotel in a garage. The bar and restaurant were also very good. The only down side is the location is a little iffy. As Bridgeport is a old town. One side of the street is a little run down but the other side looks like it has been rebuilt. It was not bad enough where I would not come . We will definitely come back whe... Read more

Found this hotel by accident after driving 7 hours. It was AWESOME. The service was great. The staff was the best. The hotel was a hidden jewel. The hotel only had one room left - a king size bed and no roll aways. My son was traveling with us and they gave us a military rate AND the hotel sent lots of extra pillows and comforters to accommodate him to sleep on the chair and ottoman. THey gave us breakfast buffet and free parking for the night. The hotel also gave us a military rate due to my s... Read more

Was headed to a conference @ Yale, and needed a spot to drop anchor for about 24 hours on the other side of NYC. Booked on the fly through Hotwire, and had a good stay. The area is a bit weird, but urban anything is weird, so keep this in mind. Park your car in the daytime, if possible, and bear in mind there is a mental health facility in the area that locks back down at 6pm. Looks odd in the daytime, but it calms down considerably after 6. This was explained to me, and it made sense. Fro... Read more

I recently stayed here this pass weekend with my fiance. We booked a room here because we have stayed here before and was very pleased. This time around,I was pissed off at first to say the least. When we first walked in the room everything seemed fine. But as We were getting ready for the evening we noticed some things. First, 2 lamps weren't working. Then the toilet seat was off the hinges and seemed to have water stains on the seat. The sink had a ring around the knob as well as the drain in ... Read more

My family hosted a quinceñera at this location. Food was very good. Staff was diligent and attentive to the guests needs. Only problem we had was with the rooms reserved. We had quite a few guests that came from out of town. There was a mix up with the no of rooms and the type of rooms. Front desk staff was not very friendly nor diligent trying to resolve this issue. It out a damper in the everyone's mood.

A pretty average hotel. The room itself was a bit on the weak side, clean but somewhat worn and outdated. Also, the air conditioning unit was rather loud and difficult to maintain at a consistent temperature. In general, very few frills -- no small fridge, for example. In the plus column -- the hotel is an easy walk to the train, the ferry to Long Island, and a number of restaurants, including a good Colombian one, right around the corner.

We stayed one night, we were not familiar with this area and was alittle taken back by the city. It seemed dead, no one on the streets not many businesses open. The hotel had what seemed to be a field trip of Asian teenagers of some sort. I wish the hotel would have made sure that regular guests were on floors above this group, they were loud, slamming doors, yelling through the hall, horse playing in the pool area. Made it very uncomfortable for us trying to relax and rest. The room was comfor... Read more

Traveling with four ladies we stopped for one evening. Easy access from the highway and entrance into hotel. The lobby is lovely and a bar/restaurant is located inside the hotel. The room was clean and beds well appointed and comfortable. The only downfall is they do not have queen beds! Only full or King. The parking is extra although a discount was given.

This was a decent hotel for business travel. Room was clean and comfortable. Elevators were a bit dirty on carpet, but could've been due to my late afternoon arrival. There were issues with my Corp rate that even though on my confirmation, they didn't show it on their system. I had to go back and take a photo copy of what I was supposed to get with my corporate rate and then they adjusted it. So in the end it was all fine but certainly took extra steps for parking and breakfast that should've... Read more

My children and I booked a room for one night on our way to a camping trip. They had no more dog friendly rooms so my husband stayed in our trailer with our dog. I paid $186 for a mediocre room in a hotel that is fully under construction with plastic and limited services. They then charged me $250 on top of the $186 stating that we had brought a dog... the dog was NEVER in the room! I stayed for business one night. It was 2 min from train station and in a nice neighborhood. Checkin was good, hotel is really nicely decorated. I would compare it with Marriott but affordable. Holiday inn has done wonders with its service and I am staying here more often lately. Room was clean, comfortable and good setup if you're on business. Amenities were average but clean. Holiday Inn at Bridgeport is an excellent stop for the leisure visitor. The hotel's staff is friendly, helpful and professional; they can and will provide superior service, and will go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. The hotel is located in downtown Bridgeport; its quiet, clean and affordable. The only drawback is parking is in another building, just across the street, but the hotel provides parking for free. Never having been to Bridgeport before, I was a bit apprehensive when we arrived as it is in quite a built up area. However my fears were unfounded. We only stayed one night as we were catching a ferry to L.I The next day. Car parking is separate to the hotel, but not far, in a multi storey across the road. The hotel gives you a voucher for the parking fee and the car was still there when we went to get it the next day. The room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was as good as any other h... Room was clean. It had a coffee pod machine, but no pods. Lady at checkin was friendly. Wifi was good. Walked to Webster arena. The Hotel was in great shape with nice decor and super friendly staff whether it was Cesar at front desk or Jackie behind the Restaurant bar during my in house meals. The food was excellent and Wednesdays are free hit foot and beer/Wine from 5/6- 7

I was very impressed with how nice this hotel was. The lobby was beautiful. The staff exceptional. And the room was great! Who ever designed the room was a genius! The bathrooms are placed so that they don't shine into the bedroom at all, and they are spacious enough, with the sink situated outside in the entry to the bathroom with plenty of light, and it doesn't interfere with the bed.

We spent one night here on our way up north. Our hotel room was large and clean. It was great to have a bar and restaurant there. We enjoyed Happy Hour at the Martini Bar with Brendan, who is a great bartender, and enjoyed talking to some of the locals. We got their hamburger sliders to eat and enjoyed them. I stayed there overnight when I attended a concert in Bridgeport. No complaints-clean generic room with very poor wifi. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel that had a good selection of craft beers. Can't talk about the food as I did eat there. Holiday Inn has been around now a very long time. So that should tell us something. I don't travel much anymore, but when I do... My husband and I were part of the 165 people of the Braking Aids Ride 2016. We invaded this Hotel with energy, and controlled chaos. Through it all every employee was gracious and accomodating. I have to give a special shout out to Chef John, the dinner menu was excellent, delicious and of the 3 days, the better-balanced meal that had been provided for the riders. My husband who is celiac, thoroughly enjoyed his meal and never felt like a step child.

The room was generally clean and comfortable. A few minor issues, like sink didn't drain and had to call for a hair dryer. Breakfast however was of ok quality, but very slow. Didn't pay much for the room, so I guess I got my value. There is an additional $10 per night parking fee to park in a nearby garage. So add $10 to your room rate.

I was very startled to find my room was a bit worn, in need of a deodorizer treatment and some renovation updates. It's unfortunate because my stays in the past with the Holiday Inn have been 4-5 stars and well above satisfactory level. This room just wasn't one of the highly quality rooms I reserved over the years. Finally, I was alarmed by the smokers hanging in the front and back of the hotel.
