Building made of concrete, half in the sun all day heats up big time. If you leave, they will turn the AC off so that you return to a sauna which takes 3 hrs to cool down. Numerous key problems, staff gave someone else our room, luckily we had door guard on. Free breakfast adequate at best, go across the street for a far better option

We arrived at the hotel early and asked to check in early. Unfortunately our room was not available, but the staff was very apologetic, friendly, and advised of different things going on in the area. She was new to the location, as well as the hotel, but she handled it appropriately and we left for a while. When we returned back to the hotel, our room was ready, our keys were ready and our room was just as expected with a Hampton Inn property, very clean, inviting, and comfy. We only stayed ... This was just as predictable as Hamptons almost always are - clean, nice, friendly, comfortable. Our room was fine - a suite, and the only thing I would've liked to see is a bigger bathroom - that bathroom was TINY and dark. We had the pool to ourselves, and it was clean and well-kept. The view was amazing. And the breakfast spread is always the best, though they could use more seating/tables. Overall, a great stay!

My wife and I stayed here for the first time 3 years ago when the hotel was new. We were very favorably impressed then; we have been so once again. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean. The bed was marvelous. Its quality on our first trip was our main reason for returning a second time. The exercise room was spotlessly clean and had a nice range of equipment and plenty of clean towels. The complementary breakfast was a real breakfast with eggs, sausage, waffles, pan... Read more

When we checked in our room appeared to be not fully cleaned. We brought this up with the front desk and they were very quick to change our room. The new room was larger and definitely clean. They took a look at our first room and it appeared to be a mistake - maybe not completely cleaned because they thought the guest was coming back. No harm done though; we were just happy and relieved they were quick to correct the mistake at 11pm after several nights of being in the woods. Apart from this s... Read more

We were told to just leave the door cracked, that our valuables would be safe because they only had good people stay there or didn't have that kind of trouble or somesuch naive (or responsibility avoiding) claptrap. Apparently, we were supposed to be told that the lock was broken at check-in, but weren't. There was a mix-up on the available room at the price I was guaranteed over the Internet. The night manager stepped up and gave me the larger suite at the lower price, so while took a little time at the front desk they did the right thing. Room was top drawer. Pool and jacuzzi area was extremely nice and relaxing. The design and decor was quite nice. A great place to stay.

The room was immaculate and kept that way by the staff. The problem with the ice maker on my floor was never fully resolved even though staff were made aware of it. Door latch problems were addressed, but card key problems were dismissed as sometimes "these doors forget, a problem for the last two weeks or so."

Arrived early afternoon; could not check in until 3PM. By that time, 10-15 other people were "in line" to check in. As if all rooms were magically available at 3:00. I've seen this only in large convention hotels. Had 2 bath towels in the room. No refrigerator in room. Breakfast was more of "we don't have any" than any place we've stayed in years! Could not believe this was a Hampton Inn! Asked for a bottle of water and female at reception acted like I'd asked for her right arm!

I trust that based on the location of this town, most of the people staying in this hotel are travelers and tourists. What is it about staying in a hotel that brings out the worst in people. We keep trying because we love the Hilton family, but this Hampton has been a disappointment several times. I am originally from the area, we've stayed there often in the last year to do family business. This last weekend, we had no hot water for two days and nights and no housekeeping ... At all. And no communication stout that, or offer of clean towels, at least.... Keys never last more than one day, which is annoying when we come back late at night. We received a total refund, the front... This was the worst and filthiest place we have ever stayed at! They can't keep help and the employees hate their jobs. 41/2 hours to get the room and it was untouched! Stay away from this hell hole! They should be ashamed!

Be sure to request a room in the back for a beautiful view. We had the front road view, but our friends had a room facing the back and the view was like a picture of mountains. Our only complaint was with breakfast. My husband has to watch his carbs, but there were no plain eggs, just a burrito with eggs and spicy sausage inside. The meat was the only breakfast option that wasn't a carb. Very little fruit was available and we were not eating late.

This hotel has serious management issues. On our arrival, we learned that the entire housekeeping staff has left that day. As a result they had to bring in staff from another city. Our room was not ready and was delayed by several hours. Salida has many nice non-brand hotels. You should consider staying in one of those properties.

The Salida, Co Hampton Inn manager and front desk staff were extremely helpful and went well out of their way to assist us with our large wedding group. I have rarely seen this level of customer service

I really appreciated that they upgraded my room to a king suite. I'm a Hilton Honors diamond level but little comforts make a big difference when you're out of town a lot. ū??? The hotel is newer and in a convenient location near the hot springs pool.

We always stay here when we come to Salida. Centrally located to town and surrounding attractions. Friendly staff and very helpful. The check in area is actually behind the hotel. Plenty of good parking for guests.

We stayed here on an overnight motorcycle ride. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Our rooms were not ready exactly at three, but were were able to put our bags behind the fron t desk and the rooms were ready when we came back from a short visit to old town area. The breakfast the next morning was very nice.

I usually stay at Hampton Inns but this one was disappointing to say the least. Although the room was probably clean in general, it did not have a feeling of cleanliness. The upholstered chairs were soiled and stained, furniture was chipped, the bathroom sink stopper was just laying loosely in the sink, and the lighting throughout the room and bathroom was dim,

This hotel was a disaster. We stayed here in a wedding block. The room wasn't ready for like 1.5 hours after we arrived and the staff was rude and not helpful at all. I would NOT recommend staying here.

For this hotel being so new, it was disappointing. Cheaper decor/furniture, outdated colors, pee stains at toilet base, not welcomed as gold members, ambivalent front desk staff and poor business room.

Clean and nice. Rooms are very dark for reading. The wall air conditioning unit keeps cyliling on and off about every 4 minutes. There is a great steak restaurant right across the street that has great meat.

I have been travelling to Salida since the 1980's and I have been to a half-dozen of the national hotel brands in Salida which have properties. After staying at the Hampton Inn for the first time this month, I would say it is the best hotel in Salida. The rooms are well appointed and the free breakfast has a nice variety of items. Also, the common areas are welcoming. Next time I go back to Salida, I will be staying at the Hampton Inn for sure!!!

The night kitchen staff did not provide enough food items for the demand from breakfast that day. The desk staff pitched in and corrected the problem to meet the demands for that breakfast. All other expectation for our stay well met.

We come to the Arkansas River Valley multiple times each year for quick get-aways and long weekends. The Hampton Inn is the best hotel to stay in town, and is in close proximity to all points north-south-east-west. Close to Old Town and restaurants, and no road noise. Enjoy your stay in Salida and at the Hampton Inn.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a very competent and pleasant desk clerk who went out of her way to make our experience nice. She offered choices of rooms. There was a carafe of refreshing lemon water available in the lobby. We were even given a complimentary ice cream bar (we arrived late and were too exhausted to go in search of an ice cream stand or market) The room was quiet. T he pool was a good size and the exercise room was adequate. The complimentary breakfast was very nice - there... Read more

Extremely easy check-in. Young man at the desk was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in a beautiful location. We liked that the entrance and parking were in back rather on the street side, felt more secure. Our king room was clean with a comfortable bed and large, well stocked bathroom. The only problem we found was that there was only a straight chair and a desk chair, both of which had "bottomed out". Those need to be repaired or replaced so that guests will have a comfortable place to sit.... Read more
