The hotel was decent, room was updated nicely. Wish the bathroom was updated, the lighting in there was bad. I would also like to see more options for breakfast like bagels, bananas, or muffins. The internet was very fast and room was clean and quiet.

The front office staff was very courteous and friendly. We came in late and went to bed without looking at the room. The next morning we noticed the bed sheets were dirty and the restroom had not been cleaned as there was a used shower cap and trash in there.

The room size was exceptional. Plenty of room to walk around and spread out. Checking in was fast as well as checking out. Internet service was really great too and free where as some HIGH END places you have to pay for that service. Only issue I had was that the ice machine on my floor was not operational.

Check in here thinking we would stay for the entire week. Unfortunately the bed was to stiff with not much padding. This wasn't good for someone like me with back and neck problems. My hips would hurt so bad the next morning. My husband would be hurting in the shoulders the next day. The other issue was the air conditioner. It doesn't matter if you turn it to be as cold as it can get the temp never changed. It was a little warm in the room. On the other hand the staff was great and was very frie... Read more

This was a great hotel for the price. Easy access and close to downtown restaurants and shopping. Very clean and laundry facilities available, but bring your own detergent, etc.

I concur with other reviewers who said "basic but not shabby." The room was spacious and well-kept, quiet and clean. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was adequate (some kind of eggs would have been wonderful). Easy to get to when traveling east-west without having to go through town. There is a Denny's not far away. We will definitely stay here again.

I needed something affordable. In all honesty, I didn't expect much for the price. Super 8 greatly exceeded my expectations! Will stay there again the next time I'm in the area.

The desk clerk was very helpful. We were on motorcycles, one which was across the street at Harley shop being fixed. We were before check in time, she let us store our bags until we could come back after 3pm to check in.

During our road trip of mountain biking through Colorado we booked at the last minute a two night stay at the Super8, our room was nicely presented but the bathroom was particularly dirty with the whole room needing a decent spring clean (the ceilings had human fat deposits..... nice and yellow). The room had everything else that we needed (refrigerator, coffee machine etc etc). Breakfast was included however we opted to have our own in our room. The location was ok, not super close to the to... Read more

Overpriced hotel. No elevator. Clean room but could use update. Linen Towels were worn .The breakfast was plain, just coffee, cereal, toast, hard cinnamon rolls and orange watered down. Small cups for the coffee. And the fruit( tangerines very small and bitter.

We had a family vacation and just needed to stay 1 night on our way to the Grand Canyon, AZ. The front desk guys were helpful and polite considering we can in at 9:30 PM. Our rooms were very clean and the breakfast was just right. First time stay at a Super 8 if they are all like this one I would do it, again!

At check-in our credit card was declined, luckily we had an alternative card that their machine accepted and processed. After we were moved in for the evening we purchased gas, dinner and made a quick trip to Walmart where our card that was declined was accepted without a problem.

Reserved a room which allows dogs, but it smelled like urine. I recommend the Comfort Inn instead. Close to downtown and front desk employees were friendly and allowed us to cancel our reservation. Durango is pricey in the summer, but this hotel needs new carpets if they expect to keep up with the competition.

When we got in the hotel we are so tired and the system is down as per the the front desk told us so we have to wait for almost 30 mins without good customer service. The elevator looks not safe and dirty because it's old, the breakfast is lame, the bathroom has drop of blood in the floor so it's not good experience for us and the bed room is clean and has nice view

We enjoyed the comfort of the new beds. However the blankets were not very staisfactory. They were very frumpy and thin. And the material made they them slide off the beds throughout the night.

The rooms were ok...however, the service was horrid! The check out person who had an excellent service pin on her vest, was very cold...mean...and made me feel like I was a bother. Secondly, the price was way too high for what I was offered. It was the same price as my suite in Denver downtown Sheraton. Will I again??? Never!

The property was dirty and the facility is in need of major updating. I would not choose to stay at this property in the future. On another note, I waited almost 3/4 of an hour to get someone to talk on the phone. For the largest hotel/motel company this kind of service is unacceptable.

We booked with booking.com when we went to get our rooms at night they said we didn't order one with dogs-wrong and papers to prove it. Booking call did nothing -no more rooms with dogs so one of had to sleep in the car sitting up. Next a.m. the guy the night before said to get the key for our dog room, but of course new guy said impossibe would leave a note. In afternoon called to check for sure, didn't know anything about a note and no available rooms for dogs, she must have talked to the mg. ... Read more

The people at TripAdvisor won't want to hear of this, but the patient, knowledgeable desk clerk at the Super8 in Durango took the time to explain why it is a bad idea to use some third party (e.g. TripAdvisor or Booking.com) to book a hotel room. His explanation equipped me with knowledge and helped me understand why I've dealt with such crabby hotel clerks when booking with Expedia and the like. Basically, the booking website almost invariably fails to convey key information, such as that guest... Read more

The facilities look a bit haggard from the lobby and the hallways. However, the room was spotlessly clean and the people working here were very nice and very helpful. The room was huge and clean. The bathroom was very clean too!! My only complaint was it was a bit pricey.

Stayed here last minute on a road trip and were able to walk in and book a room considering how crowded it was. The room itself was clean, but the bath tub had black footprints in it, so we wore flip flops when we showered since it didn't look like it had been cleaned. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was close to downtown Durango.

This was a pet-friendly hotel. We always travel with our dog because of her epilepsy, and we have stayed in many hotels/motels. This one was the worst as far as per stains go. It didn't stink, but many pets left their marks. The lady at the desk wasn't the friendliest, but the two gentlemen we encountered at the desk were very friendly. It's close to a Pet Resort where we left our dog while on the train. It was close to the train depot, and there was a good barbecue place across the street.

The hotel room had lingering cigarette smoke. The desk clerks were not friendly. Breakfast room so crowded you could not get in. Not yet friendly. We had no pets but it was made clear. Guests were loud in late evening to late night. Best thing was the ice machine was close. Worst thing unfriendliness of staff.

I checked into this hotel with my family and immediately found a large bodily fluid stain on a bed. You couldnā??t miss it and it should never have made it past cleaning crew. We went to the front desk and asked to change rooms. It was obvious that the bedding in the second room had not been changed after the previous guests. The sheets had been slept on and there was another bodily fluid stain on the bed. The carpets were stained throughout. The stuffing from the pillows was coming out of holes... Read more

Great location! The mountain and train picture in the room are awesome. We stayed in Durango to ride the Durango Silverton Railroad. The room was very clean. Our boys loved the room. Although, the hotel does not have a pool we went to the Durango Rec Center and it was fabulous indoor pool, three story slide, and excellent water area for kids. The breakfast was great and would have been excellent if it offered some sort of protein: bacon, sausage, or eggs. The staff was very friendly and h... Read more

After reading some reviews I was a bit worried about staying here but the hotel was fine and the rate was great for Durango in the summer. Check-in was easy and they helped us acquire an upstairs room. The hotel isn't fancy, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I was a little concerned because there was lots of door slamming when we came in for the night, but it didn't last long and after that it was quiet. We didn't eat breakfast.

I made a reservation at the Super 8 online as I was entering Durango Colorado. Everything else was booked for the night and the booking engine stated there were others looking at the same room, book now or it's gone! Ten minutes later I arrived to find out the place was a dump.
