Booked this for one night passing through Durango on a trip from Denver to Tucson based on our experience with the Hilton Hampton Inn brand over the last few years. Only part of the Hampton Inn experience we expected was the bed -- Kingsize is always a good night's sleep for us. Glad that we had a family beside us who settle down quickly for the night as frankly the rooms here are not quiet if you have noise next door. Almost like you are in the same room so be careful of how loud your own conve... Read more

The location isn't very good, it's surrounded by old business tat may even be boarded up. I stay at Hampton Inns a lot, but this one needs renovation in my opinion. The carpet in particular was old. The pool area was okay. The bottom line is that if my room key didn't say "Hampton Inn" I would have thought this was a Motel 6.

Low ceilings, small rooms, a little run down outside. Not typical of Hamptons in general. Was not a dump don't get me wrong but we have chosen this brand for a level of expectation in terms of room comfort and am use to experiencing very good to excellent compared to other hotels/motels prior to just settling on Hampton. Will start looking elsewhere rather than just picking somewhere and getting the Hampton automatically.

I stayed at hotel while attending a work meeting, the hotel is close to many restaurants, animas river and biking trails. The staff at hotel were very helpful in providing recommendations of things to do and places to go eat. The room that I had was very clean and comfortable, hotel offers a very good complementary breakfast and if you are in a hurry they also provide to go "brown bag snacks". If I come to visit Durango again I will stay here.

Everything you could expect from a Hampton Inn, clean, excellent staff, reasonable breakfast. Wish we had known about the hot tub, as we would have brought our bathing suites. Its about 2 miles to the Durango-Silverton RR. Not the closest, but close enough not to be a problem.

Stayed one night . usual Hampton Inn quality. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Rooms are very clean and a good size. Free Wi-Fi in rooms. Coffee machine and fridge in room. Only disappointment was that there is no gym .....we were told we could use a gym down the road free but that wasn't convenient for us. Free parking. Even so, we would stay here again. Durango trolley service stops outside the hotel which is great as it takes you into the centre of town for just 1 dollar.

If you've seen one Hampton Inn, you've seen them all. BUT NOT THIS ONE! Two "things" distinguish this Hampton Inn: The breakfast and the folks at the front desk. The breakfast was WONDERFUL! Finally a breakfast buffet with protein! Eggs and sausage that tasted great. The folks at the from desk should teach a class on customer focus. They were kind, helpful, and caring -- beyond the norm. I think that you will enjoy your visit here.

The pool and hot tub were very nice after a long day on the narrow gauge railroad to Silverton. Was not crowded and very peaceful. Front desk check in gave us some nice recommendations for dinner (Ken and Sue's....awesome food!) A bit out of town, but easy access to the bike path at the high school near by. Felt very safe at the the location. Clean.

We have stayed there on four different trip while passing through and each visit was flawless. Our bookings were perfect, the rooms immaculate, the breakfast bar stocked and endless. I travel to Durango often for trips to AZ as well as skiing, once they opened they became my go to place for reliable lodging.

I spend a lot of time in hotels on business as well as pleasure and the entire staff has been outstanding. Breakfast was awesome, they offered hot food - eggs, bacon or sausage and always a little something else. One day it was french toast, another it was biscuits and gravy. As a vegetarian there were a few days I couldn't eat the eggs because there was meat in them, but there are also hard boiled eggs on offer. The room was comfortable and quiet; perfect for a good nights sleep. The staff was friendly, welcoming and helpful. The location was great too. There are places to eat and gas stations nearby and Old town Durango is a short drive away. As with Hampton Inns there's always breakfast included too.

We have stayed at several Hamptons over the course of this vacation. This one is definitely one of the better ones for quality, ease of parking and location. Our biggest issues were the loud in room ac unit (the quiet moments when it was off at night were nice) but more oddly the window that faced large bushes 2' in front of it. We loved our stay in Durango at the Hampton. We were greeted by both staff members at the front desk. We were given wonderful advice on where to eat and we even got help on where we could go to get some good pictures of the train coming into town. The rooms were clean, and the breakfast is very good - lots of selection. We didn't have time to use the pool, but it did look inviting

We stayed here while traveling from Utah to New Mexico. We have stayed in Durango before & like the town, so decided this would be a good stop for us as we wanted to be in our room in time to watch the Green Bay Packers game. We bopped over to City Market Food, bought deli carryout, then on to the next door liquor store (Mac's) for Fort Collins Oktoberfest beer & we were ready! Unfortunately the Packers were not & they lost, but once the initial disappointment was over we had Hampton Inn fres... Read more

My wife and I stayed 2 nights on a recent trip through Southwest Colorado. I always stay at Hampton Inns when I can, they are always clean, comfortable, convenient locations, friendly helpful staff and a great free breakfast. This hotel is convenient to Historic Downtown but not walking close.

Usual comfortable beds and other Hampton amenities and excellent staff, but this location is missing in-room microwaves and an exercise room. Recently remodeled, but they need to add these comforts to get a 10 rating from this regular Hampton guest.

My husband and I and his parents generally travel out West after school starts back up. So we were in Durango, Colorado from 9/27-10/1/2016. We used the Hampton Inn as our base for a vacation to explore the area. We took the train to Silverton, travelled to Four Corners, saw Mesa Verde and the cave dwellings, and travelled the Million Dollar Highway. We had a full four days. The hotel was as expected with Hampton with comfortable rooms and this one had a very good hot breakfast. (Some don't.... Read more

Really clean and wonderful hotel. We arrived and got a room in a matter of minutes, the staff called to make sure the room was up to their standards and its really wonderful. We stay in the Hampton a lot and this is the best.

This hotel is clean and comfortable, like many others. What sets this apart is the customer service, The host at the front desk asked if our rooms were good when I went down to the car for a few items. Fresh baked cookies as you check in. Maid service was great - our room was super clean and she left extra towels and shampoo for us for the second night. A bit pricey, but that's understandable since Durango is not generally a year-round tourist attraction. Refrigerator in our room, but no microwa... Read more

Customer service very nice. Helpful hints on what to see, how to get there, etc. This was a one night stay before we checked into the Strater Hotel. It was easy to get to and easy access to downtown Durango. Highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere outside of downtown Durango where parking can be a little difficult

This is a wonderful hotel. The room was clean and the service was awesome. At the breakfast the servers wondered around filling coffee cups....I stay at Hampton Inns routinely and this has never happened before. Nice touch. I also want to commend the housekeeping staff; especially Valerie. She checked the refrigerator in our room and found my husbands insulin had been left behind. The front desk staff immediately called us...we hadn't even made it to the other side of town when they called... Read more

Modern lodging, nice staff, STUFFY ROOM, pool real nice feature - modern and clean, location out of the fray of downtown Durango but close enough for easy access. Clean hallways, room reasonably modern, but even though temps cool outside in October, rooms were to warm and stuffy. Had to turn AC on. Felt like living in a closet even with AC circulation running all night long.

Great value for the price. Wonderful breakfast too. Great place to stay if you are in Durango. Brandon was very inviting, kind and helpful each night when we walked in. we were unaware of the pool & spa, wish we could have used that service for our children
