Well-appointed hotel with wonderful staff. Great free breakfast. Pool and hot tub are open 23 hours per day (closed one hour each morning for cleaning). Our king-sized room was a bit on the small side, but was big enough for my husband and I. It was one of a suite of two rooms although we did not rent both), and our neighbors were a bit loud at 3am so will be sure next time to ask for a room that is not part of a suite. Close to Mesa Verde National Park and Anasazi Heritage Museum, and lots of g... Read more

You will feel very welcome in this hotel - it is true home away from home. Very clean, nice location (east side of Cortez), friendly professional staff. There is coffee/tea 24/7 in the lobby. Just across the parking lot is excellent restaurant - Destination Grill - #1 in Cortez (in my book). Ask receptionist for the 5% discount coupon . Take my word for it - there is no better place to stay in Cortez!

From our greeting at the front desk this was a wonderful stay. We stayed for two nights. The ladies were helpful with our list of local questions and we got room 335 which was like a honeymoon suite - the end of the hall with a heart shaped jacuzzi tub! It was very quiet other than someone slamming their door down the hall. We ate next door at the Destination Grill which is affiliated and it was good as well. I would go back to Cortez just to stay here!

Overall, good experience. I have two items that I didn't love. 1) Please stop recommending, to everyone that comes in, the restaurant next door, Destination Grille. 2) Don't expect peace and quiet, this is definitely a family hotel.

I am never disappointed in Holiday Inn! I think it is a great price and for a clean, comfortable room! The beds and pillows are so comfortable! The breakfast is better than the continental some hotels serve. You have a good selection of both hot and cold items. Great coffee! All the rooms have microwaves, fridges, and coffee makers.

First thing off the bat was Juan was at the front desk as I tried to use my point with Holiday at the number on my rewards card. I guess it has changed and I kept getting some person who wanted to sell me a gift card for WalMart first. This is pretty much standard fare for the Holiday Inn, in terms of room quality and general amenities. It is very well located in terms of visiting Mesa Verde, being on the right side of town. Very friendly and helpful on check in, room suited our needs (2 adults + teenager), and close enough to downtown Cortez. Located conveniently on HWY 160, not downtown but with convenient stuff like Safeway, Walgreens and restaurants. Destination Grill, a nice surprise is next door for decent tasty meals. The hotel is clean, pretty new and worthy. Rooms are spacious and well kept, the pool is small and gets crowded and water temperature is 84F, a bit lower... The rooms were nice, the breakfast very good. The staff were polite and helpful. A couple of points to remember: There is no life guard or supervision at the pool/jacuzzi. One evening there were a bunch of un-supervised kids in the pool doing dives (not a diving pool) cannonballs etc. They were even doing cannonballs into the jacuzzi. The parent that was there was doing nothing to stop her brats' behavior. We had to clear out. Also, the WIFI, in all Holiday Inns according to staff, is pro... Read more

Couldn't fault this place, U.S. Holiday Inn Express rooms are a fair bit bigger than in Europe. It's on the edge of the town, but next to an enormous Walmart if you need to stock up. Spotlessly clean with helpful and friendly staff, it's an ideal stopover, and you'll get to meet Madonna at breakfast. You also get a discount voucher for the excellent Destination Grill across the way.

We can't thank Garth enough, he was a groundskeeper, I think, who introduced us to the cat, Holly (for Holiday Inn) and told us about the free gondola ride in Teluride, which was amazing!
