My family and I were able to get a room with a king bed and a twin, with our own bathroom (gorgeous blue tiles). There is a heated pool that is perfect for relaxing in, even if it's cold outside. Cookies and coffee are always served, and the breakfast had lots of options. Loved our stay! The lodge is pretty close to all of the shops and restaurants too.

I spent Thanksgiving here on a solo trip and have already booked my next holiday stay. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and its staff! Great location, no frills, but comfortable and clean. The only potential draw back Is 10 minute walk to downtown.

We stayed at the St. Moritz for a friend's birthday bike trip to Aspen. The hotel is in a wonderful, quiet location and the grounds are beautiful. Great spot to hang out and have appetizers while the kids swam in the pool! We were able to reserve two condos and a suite, so there was plenty of room for everyone, and the owners were totally helpful and accommodating when we arrived with 9 (!) bicycles that needed to be stored! The rooms we stayed in were very clean and spacious, and we had a sui... Read more

St Moritz offers an affordable accommodation option or pricey Aspen. You will be greeted by friendly reception staff who will also give you good advice on places to visit and restaurant options. We stayed for two days at the beginning of the Spring/Summer season. It was still quiet occupancy-wise but the heated pool and spa were available. Our room was self-contained so spacious with 2 doubles and the option of self-catering. Very comfortable. St. Moritz is a short walk or drive away from the vi... Read more

We loved our stay at St. Moritz Lodge. Jay at the front desk was very friendly and immediately made us feel welcome. He was also helpful at recommending things to do and restaurants. We stayed in a poolside room with a kitchenette and a beautiful bathroom. The lodge has a quiet mountainside location, but it's also a a few blocks away from downtown. It was an easy walk to restaurants and shops. We also hiked the Ajax Trail directly across the street from the lodge. I'd love to stay here ag... Read more

We spent 2 nights in Aspen at the St. Moritz. We had a 2 bedroom unit that shared a bathroom and hallway. It worked fine for our family. My husband and I had a room with a queen bed, my daughter and niece had a room with 2 twins. It was quiet, very convenient to town. The grounds around the pool were so pretty with lots of flowers. We didn't have time to use the pool but it looked great. We did have fun using some tables around the pool for playing cribbage and such late afternoons. We we... Read more

We had three rooms for a group of friends for the Ride the Rockies bike tour. The hotel is a bit dated, but that is overshadowed by the great staff, breakfast buffet and price. The rooms were very comfortable and quiet. The manager went out of his way to get up early and make us breakfast before the usual 6:30 am time, as we had to be out on our bikes before that. Many hotels would have said that the time was firm, but he gave us great breakfasts the two days we were there. Wifi was free ... Read more

We purposely booked a June weekday with the idea of a quieter stay. We were looking for something resembling a fair rate for Aspen (there aren't any, but St.Moritz comes closest). After tax, we paid nearly $200/nt for a comfortable but tiny room. Yes, Aspen's climate accommodates no A/C, but we couldn't leave our one window open to the pool area, due to loud conversations, kids yelling, & lack of privacy. The ceiling fan and add'l small table fan helped the stuffiness, but not a lot. Having bi... Read more

My second stay at the St. Moritz and I will definitely stay there again next time I need a place in Aspen. The rooms are basic, but very comfortable. The breakfast is again fairly basic, but plenty of cereal, breads, and fresh fruit. The pool is very nice and a draw for those staying. The setting is in a quiet part of Aspen, so quite relaxing. Best of all the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Add to that a very good rate (for Aspen, mind you), and you have a fine choice for this b... Read more

A little late in writing this, as we were there last October, but I wanted to let people know just how nice this lodge is. We were staying in Aspen so we could see the Maroon Bells (fantastic!). When we arrived in the afternoon, after driving in from the east, I needed a drink. I was pleasantly surprised that the very friendly and helpful lady at the desk announced that it was time for WINE. Wow, perfect! Our room was #522, "Grotto", on the second floor. It is a standard lodge room ($94)....bas... Read more

If you want a quiet place, don't stay here! Our room was right above the pool. There was loud music and loud talking by the pool well into the evening. I called the front desk and the receptionist said the "owner" would not like it if the music was turned off. It did get turned off once and then it came back on. I called the front office again...no luck. ??? The breakfast was passable with some fresh berries, other fruit, dried cereal, ready-made waffles, yogurt and juice. The berries were NO... Read more

In an expensive place like Aspen this is the cheapest deal on a decent lodging. The place is very cozy and homey. This is, basically, a rather nice hostel. You get a bed and free breakfast for you money. There's one men and one women bathroom per floor with a single shower stall and two toilets. I was afraid it would get crowded in the morning, but somehow I never had to wait to use a bathroom. You can get a free pair of ear plugs and believe me you'll want to use it. There are all sort o... My friend and I had plans on just camping out around the area of Aspen the night of a show at Belly Up. Not sure of what the weather was going to do, super last minute, the day of we jumped onto AirBnB and got a room in the hostel portion of the St. Moritz Lodge. It was a nice place with anything you would need! The room was very basic, just like a typical hostel, but very clean and tidy, and that especially went for the bathrooms! The staff is extremely nice, very welcoming and did an outstandi... Read more

Although we have been to Colorado many times, this was our first trip to Aspen. We always try to find a place where we don't have to get in our car each night to have dinner. This lodging is a short walk to downtown with many restaurants and shops, yet far enough removed that it is very quiet. Pros: Location, excellent staff, trailhead across street for hiking, breakfast Cons: Expensive (but not as expensive as other Aspen options)

We stayed at the St. Moritz for two nights. This hotel is also a hostel, so you can get a cheaper rate if you share a bath. We wanted a private bath, so the rate was $212 per night. The room was nicely appointed, albeit a little outdated. It is kind of a like a ski chalet feel. Please note that there is **no air conditioning in this hotel** but there was a good cross breeze in our room because we had two windows. The only problem is that our windows were above the main entrance and the poo... Read more

It's tough to find an affordable place to stay in aspen if you're not one of the glitteratti, so finding this homey place that didn't break the bank was wonderful. It's got a European feel to it. There are a variety of rooms to choose from, as it is a condo hotel as well as a hostel. As I was on a tight budget and just staying one night primarily to sleep, I took the shared room for women. As it turned out I didn't have a room mate, which was great as the rooms are tiny by American standards. ... Read more

Anyone checking into Aspen accommodations knows it's expensive. If you are just looking for a clean place to stay that is within walking distance of downtown--this is, hands down, the best value and has far more to offer than any hostile I've ever stayed. We hiked the West Maroon Pass from Crested Butte, took the shuttle to Aspen and thought we'd find a bare bones "adult hostile." Instead, we found really nice staff, a simple but charming happy hour and a beautiful pool in the courtyard to g... Read more

this is my second visit in 3 years the place has character - a throw back to the 60s clean and efficient - and very affordable for the Aspen area - the owners are truly interested in connecting the naive traveler to all that is good in Aspen. The downtown area is walking distance and the venue is far enough away to have a local neighborhood feel to the lodge. Breakfast is served in a group room so has a bit of a hostel feel - and the coffee is excellent!

Staying in the hostel made visiting at peak ski season budget friendly. The breakfast here put some hotel continental breakfasts to shame. The linens were clean, the bathroom was clean, and the in room fridge was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is very limited. The location makes a car unnecessary since the bus stop is close and walking to downtown is easy.

Just stayed 3 nights. Staff was so nice and helpful. Our room overlooked the warm pool and views of the fabulous mountains. Very clean. Great quiet location but able to walk to everything. Our faucet was leaking and they fixed it immediately. Would stay here again.
