I have to say that I think this is the best hotel experience I've ever had. The staff were friendly, rooms well-appointed and hands down the best breakfast I've had for this type of hotel. I feel they offered anything that one could ask for as far as breakfast items. Only comment I have is that we were worn out when we got there and did not read the card in the room regarding the mattress topper. If we found the bed too soft we were supposed to call front desk and they would come and remove ... Read more

This was a great place to stay. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Our reservation was for 2 nights, at check in I had to change to just one night, they did it with no questions asked and no fee for changing the reservation so late. The ear plugs at the front desk where needed for me that night after driving 12 hours to get there, thanks for those, (they where free). The breakfast was hot and plenty of items to choose from. I will for sure stay here again.

The front desk staff was friendly. Nobody seems to have reviewed the bedding. Everyone in the party agreed that the beds were (too) soft. There seems to be a pillowtop that can be removed . It is not 4 inches as stated, but removing it did help some. The labelled pillow (full sized) selection was nice. They have "soft" and "firm" embroidered on the cases. For our group of 4, we needed hand towels and washcloths brought in. Our first night, we had 4 adults and 1 infant in a double queen room... Read more

During a recent stay for work at Adams State University, I chose this hotel for its reasonable rate. I was greeted by a newer employee working the front desk. She was very friendly and really made me feel welcome. I arrived after 10 pm and only wanted to get in my room for some much needed sleep. She ( I wish I remembered her name) checked me in, gave me my keys, told me about breakfast and wifi quickly while completing the entire script they have. She offered me water and a snack or the welcome... Read more

This is a newer property with very clean and up to date rooms. It is comfortable and safe as well. It is on the west end of town but worth the extra few blocks drive, The staff is very friendly and easy to work with, This is a great property and I highly recommend this location.

We ended up stuck in Alamosa overnight due to car problems. The staff was very friendly and helpful when we needed a last minute room. They do accept dogs, for a pet fee, and since we were traveling with my Boston Terriers, this was a life saver for us. All the staff was super friendly and helpful--even a phone call from the manager on duty to welcome us and ask if she could offer any local recommendations. Room was clean and spacious and came with a refrigerator and microwave. Love they of... Read more

We stayed here on our way home from Mesa Verde and it was a refreshing and pleasant stay! Our room was beautiful and very clean. We had a suite with a couch and we enjoyed the opportunity to spread out and relax. The beds were comfortable and we had mounds of pillows. My daughters went swimming at the pool for more than an hour and had it to themselves which they really enjoyed. I liked that the pool was not over chlorinated! The breakfast was great with a huge selection of yogurt, boile... Read more

Stayed overnight on our way to a vacation in South Fork. Very friendly staff, clean room, and good location near several restaurants. Very comfortable stay and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend and will be staying there again when traveling in the area.

It's one of the few hotels near the great sand dunes so you pay a bit more for the convenience. Nice stay overall pros: Nice hotel, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast, friendly staff Cons: Location very near a busy road with lots of noise (choose side away from road if possible)..only 1 washer and dryer unit and several people waiting for it.

We chose this hotel because it was close to the Great Sand Dunes. There were other hotels in Alamosa to choose from but I think we got the best. The hotel was very clean. The beds were comfortable. The room was quiet. We got a great nights rest. The breakfast had something for everyone. We love the HIE cinnamon rolls. And the staff made our check in very easy. They were very friendly.

The staff is always great at this hotel and each time I visit my room has been clean and spacious. The noise can be a but much when there are athletic teams staying in the hotel. They do allow dogs and is only one of a few options in Alamosa. This is my preferred hotel in Alamosa. It is on the outside edge of the city and quite a distance from the Dunes. Driving is a must here.

The Holiday Inn Express in Alamosa is clean, spacious, and convenient. Check-in was quick; the breakfast was very good. The only negative was the noise. The inn backs up to a major highway with loud car/truck traffic and trains. If you stay here, request a room which faces the parking lot.

We stayed here for only a night on a road trip from Phoenix to Denver. The hotel was very nice, very clean. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spacious. The bathroom was a little run but no big deal there. The next morning the breakfast was very fresh and delicious. The staff in the dining room area were very attentive and would actually come take your plates and ask if everything was ok which is the first I've ever seen of this. Excellent service!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Alamosa the evening we visited the Great Sand Dunes National Park. We were greeted with a smile and kind words upon our arrival. Our room was spotless and the beds and pillows were comfortable and restful after an evening at the dunes. I was especially impressed with the excellent service provided by the waitress at breakfast. Stayed here one night with family. Nice property on the edge of town. Close to Wal-Mart. My "2" rating is based solely on my customer service experience, overall this is a nice property. *Be advised, check-in is 3 PM. I attempted an early check-in (about 1:00 PM) and was told no rooms were ready. 5 minutes later (while I was still in the parking lot) another person completed an early check-in. When I went in and asked the desk clerk (Eric), he stated that her room was clean but mine wasn't. I a... Read more

We had car trouble with 2 kids and a dog, no luggage. Our vacation was to be in Red River NM. We were towed here. The breakfast is the best I have ever seen, turkey sausage, waffles and pancakes, cinnamon rolls, decaf tea, two kinds of yoghurt. There are Bath & Body Works Prdts.in the bathrooms. A big plus is taking a dog, there were dog treats in the lobby, pepper mints, lemonade, and lovely fresh cookies. The staff is friendly and the mgr was very sympathetic to our problem. This hotel is with a grouping of other hotels. It is right on the road. We had a second floor 2 queen bed with a small spacious living room. We were very pleasantly surprised by this. The room was very clean. They use bath and body shampoos, conditioner. They hand apples and cookies and other snacks in the evening and there breakfast was very good! One of the best. Good place to get your head down but your nearest things are Walmart and Wendy's. You'll need transport if you want more. Breakfast OK Staff very friendly and professional. Probably best for business travel on a budget providing you've got transport. We ended up having a picnic in our room from purchases at Walmart.

I made my reservation online with Trip Advisor and chose this hotel because it was pet friendly. I was traveling with my 16 year old Sheltie. When I got to the hotel I told them I had a pet and they told me that they didn't have any rooms for someone with a pet and that it was too late to cancel. I wasn't given the option to choose a pet friendly room on Trip Advisor and didn't realize it would be a problem when I got to the hotel. This was our first trip traveling with our dog, and the Holiday Inn Express in Alamosa made it such a wonderful experience. They have certain rooms that are pet friendly, so be sure to call ahead to reserve a pet friendly room (I booked online and then called to make sure we could have a pet friendly room). The property was very nice. My problem was with their reservation system. I did not use an online booking system but instead called the hotel directly and made a reservation for 4 adults, 2 queen beds. Bed was a bit soft but after a long hard day of 4x4ing and the Sand Dunes who cares! Staff was amazingly friendly and every single staff member we saw greeted us. Pool was warm enough to be comfortable but still nice and cool. The cinnamon rolls are to die for. The breakfast was wonderful, room adequately furnished with microwave, and fridge. We traveled with two dogs and stayed here specifically for the reason it was pet friendly. It is a very clean, almost new motel. Our room was on the ground floor which was nice taking our dogs out. The room did not smell at all like a "pet room". All of the staff were wonderfully friendly and attentive. The breakfast room was very nice and the food was good and plentiful. We will stay there again for sure when we are in Alamosa again!

Nice motel but not worth $$$$ spent. First of all, the heater/air conditioner is a below the window type like a motel. Secondly the breakfast eggs are not fresh but from some kind of premixed carton with milk in them - not any good for a lactose intolerant person like me. overall the experience was not bad as the front desk staff was very cheerful and helpful. Only spent a few hours in the property as I got in late and left early; no time to experience the amenities other than breakfast.

You tend to know what sort of quality you are getting when you book into a Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express, and this one certainly came up standard. It felt like it was virtually new and was spotlessly clean. The staff on reception were friendly and there were welcoming cookies/fruit and even dog biscuits in that area! I know this is one of the oldest modern hotels in the valley, but it's maintained, clean and just plain nice. The pool and hot tub are fine and the breakfast, for a HIExpress was better than others, by far. Thanks for a nice week y'all! Cheers!
