On our way to Fairplay Colorado we heard the weather was going to turn severe. Hard to believe for this time of year. Change of plans; we decided to stay in Alamosa and in the morning go directly to Denver to avoid being snowed-in. This hotel, like most Hamptons was neat and clean. The staff was friendly and efficient. I do have 2 tiny complaints... first I went to the desk just before breakfast and asked for a bottle of water. The young woman directed me to the little "store". I said "free wat... Read more

When we first showed up at 1:30pm and tried to get an early check in, there were no clean rooms yet available. We were out front trying to decide what to do next when Matthew, the front desk attendant, came out to let us know they had just finished cleaning a room and that he could get us checked in. This was the start to our wonderful stay! The king room layout is excellent, especially for our family with our pack and play that needed room for set up. The rooms were clean and modern The FR... If needed, a newer Walmart next door. I would stay here again, and can recommend to other travelers who need accommodations in this town.

The good: The room was clean, well maintained, and inviting. The bed was clean and comfortable. The in-room refrigerator and microwave oven were much appreciated. The bad: The breakfast buffet was lacking protein. Bacon was undercooked and looked inedible. We went to the local McDonalds to get a decent breakfast. When we travel we try and stay at a Hampton Inn or Quality Inn. We saw a Hampton Inn in Alamosa and stopped to check in. The check-in was very quick, the staff was very friendly, the room was very clean, and the bed was very comfortable. This was the 3rd Hampton Inn was stayed at on our 2 week trip to Arizona and it was a good experience.

Ok hotel but a bit overpriced. Nearly $175 for 1 night and breakfast was just minimal quality. Had troubles with remote control, first had to go back to desk and get a remote because there was not one in the room, then could not get it to work at all so after about 4 trips to the front desk we finally got staff to come fix it.

This hotel seemed new (in 2016) and clean. It also served a very nice complementary breakfast and coffee/tea all day. But I thought it was a bit overpriced for the area. Also, our room (305) had a parking lot light right outside our window, which ruined what little view there was and forced us to close the heavy drapes in order to make the room dark enough to sleep. Even then, the room wasn't totally dark. Otherwise our stay was uneventful, and the staff was helpful.

Linda Hall is the general manager at the this hotel. She is the reason there are more cars in the parking lot, the breakfast area is always stocked, the rooms are cleaned well and the hotel is in top shape! Look, all these hotels are about the same (although some can be really outdated, but this one is about 5 years young), so what really makes one stand out from the others is the service you receive. By that I mean, are the rooms clean? Is the breakfast area clean? Is the breakfast stocked... Read more

The hotel is conveniently located and in a quiet area of town. The automatic check in works well. Parking lot is well lit at night. The bed was comfortable and the sheets seemed new. But the carpet was dirty and the tile in the bathroom needs repairs. Bathrooms have no fans, so the room steams up. A decent value for a summer weekend though.

The Hampton Inn in very good hotel in Alamosa. The hotel is near the main road in town, US 160, but it is far enough away from it that it is also very quiet. The Hampton Inn in Alamosa did not seem as clean as other Hampton Inns I've stayed at probably because of the dark carpeting. One reason we often stay at Hampton Inns is that, in the past, they have provided a really nice happy hour, complete with wine or beer and significant snacks. I have stayed in many Hampton Inns over the years and have always had good experiences. But this one should not even be allowed to carry the brand name. The rooms are barely cleaned. Our first room had Cheetos lying on the floor up against the bottom of the bed and the area around the refrigerator was THICK with dust. It hadn't been dusted in months. It was so disgusting that we asked to be moved to a room on a different floor, assuming that floor may have a better trained housekeeping team.... Read more

After a long day of driving this hotel was a welcome sight. It is off season. Parking is plentiful and close. Quincy, at the front desk kindly took our bags to our third floor room (located right off the elevator) a room easily maneuvered in a wheel chair. Comfy beds. We followed his great recommendation to Cavillo's Mexican Restaurant (see my separate review). Wish we could stay longer here. Reminds me of the quality of top business hotels used when I had a real job.

Comfortable beds; spacious room; hot breakfast with lots of variety! Quiet when we were there- overnight trip to visit the Great Sand Dunes and San Luis shrine. We weren't expecting the outstanding level of service and quality, but it made our trip!

Nearly everything about this place was lovely. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, the room was wonderful and the internet wifi great. The reason for the less than perfect rating was the breakfast. The eggs and sausage were not great and while the waffles were good, the batter was gone at 8:30 with no refill in site.

Great location traveling through Colorado. Had several stops to make and was able to rely on the usual expected convenience and cleanliness of a Hampton Inn. Would stay there again when next in the region.

We have stayed in many hotels in Alamosa. This has been our best experience. Clean spacious rooms. The staff was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return to this location. All of our expectations were beyond met!

Hampton Inn is always our go-to hotel in small towns because we know it's always clean, decent breakfast included, usually an indoor pool, the rooms are always comfortable. We love staying in the studio with the extended room space, couch and mini kitchen.
