This is a good hotel for the money that we spent. It is close to shopping and other entertainment. You can't go wrong with this hotel. When we encountered a problem at the hotel, that staff had no problem getting us into another room rather than attempt to fix the problem while we were in the room. The hotel is right on highway 101, so be prepared for some noise from the freeway. However, you have good access when you want to get on the road and it is easy to find when you are not famili... I have stayed at this location many times in the past. I was nicely surprised to find that they had recently done some renovations. The room was very nice, and comfortable. They have also added a mini store in the lobby for hotel guests which was a nice addition. The continental breakfast was good, not a lot of variety, but, tasty none the less. Staff was very helpful, and courteous at both check in, and check out.

LaQuinta Ventura,(Valentine rd.)was a very nice stay. Staff was grat, place was clean and pricing fair, we'd stay again when back in Ventura! Looking at the reviews on line we were a little, concerned about our soon to be stay.As always some of the reviews were completely opposite than our experience-stay here.

I had to move out of my house while asbestos cleanup was going on. I have two cats and I refuse to board them so I called La Quinta and they were so nice. I got a very nice room with a king size bed. They don't charge extra for my babies and they were very welcoming. They also have a continental type breakfast every day. If I ever need them again, I will gladly call them again! Highly recommend!

We stayed here in early April and had an excellent visit. Arrived late, and the front desk guy was so welcoming. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We faced the courtyard, but the space was surprisingly quiet, and we had a great night's sleep. Breakfast was La Quinta standard - basic but sufficient. Staff kept everything stocked. Great value and experience overall!

We found the hotel at the last minute and were quite happy with it. It's great that they offer breakfast. I like that they had boiled eggs because some of us need that protein to begin the day. The oatmeal packets don't have sugar which is another plus as many people can't eat sugar.

I would give the staff 5/5. They are absolutely fantastic and down to earth. Awesome. That said, the bathrooms really need to be payed attention to. One smelled like an old moldy towel and this one smells like beach bathrooms. & the meth heads....... They park in the parking lot and go under the overpass and get high. Disgusting. Cmon.. Handle that situation. Without the staff being absolutely great this would be a 1.5/5 review. I have a video of a druggie yelling at a car with no one in it aski... Read more

Housekeeping and maintenance need some improvements. It was a quiet area with a variety of places to eat a short drive away. It's webpage says newly renovated, I am not sure what has been renovated. Requests made to staff weren't completed WIll most likely stay elsewhere if visiting the area again.

The rooms are clean and the staff was OK. The location was convenient. What made it not too pleasant was a bunch of weird characters staying next door to us, the lack of a refrigerator, the cleaning staff who banged on our door 3 separate times within one morning despite us telling them that we did not want service, and the guy doing cleaning/maintenance outside since 8am two mornings in a row which made it impossible to sleep.

The hotel front desk was super awesome with communicating booking over the phone, while we were traveling from Long Beach to Ventura, and calling back around midnight that we are running late, front desk again amazing customer service. I didn't wake up early enough to eat breakfast. My only compliant was the communicating from front desk to house cleaning crew. Highly recommend, comfortable beds, when I opened the door the room smelled like fresh linens. Big breakfast included in the stay, free coffee all day. We visited grant park, Ventura Pier, and the city's state beach which seemed a little unsafe and deserted. Overall this hotel is great!

All of my stays at La Qunita, have not been satisfying; however, my last stay was very comfortable. No complaints whatsoever. My room was perfect. This hotel is six minutes away from my business appointment. That's why, I make reservations here, even though I have been very unhappy in the past. Thumbs up for my last visit.

Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast good choices with do it yourself waffles. Only complaint was pool open til 10 pm and especially the weekend heavy heavy partying. Small grandchildren staying with me and was so noisy they couldn't get to sleep. Would recommend a room facing away from pool on weekends if that would bother you

If you are staying more than one night, get a hotel with a full restaurant. The "free" breakfast is okay, but you have to stand in line and half the time they run out of things. Housekeeping has a big problem. Dirty coffee cups from the day before were still in the same place I left them. They give you coffee for your room, but never leave sugar, cream, etc. No amenities in the room, like small bottles of shampoo, hand cream, etc. This is strickly a sleep and go place. Bed very c... They don't charge the typical $100 non-refundable pet deposit like so many hotels/motels do. Check-in was quick, friendly, and early! Our first-floor room request was honored. A nice La Quinta, easy off/on freeway ramps, good breakfast before we left. We were very satisfied and would stay again were we in the same position in travel. Breakfast is next to nothing, crowded seating area, bathroom sink hot water took forever to get hot, sink, tub and room needs update. Found Condom wrapper on pull out bed "next to handle" so someone left it there and maid did not check because sheets had blood on them, it took over an hour to get changed and telling the story to three different people. Had to check in almost an hour later than told, and then there were not enough towels for the four of us on both days.

We visited last year in the midst of construction and rather liked this place. This led to us visiting several other La Quinta Inns with great pleasure. So we were looking forward to visiting the Ventura La Quinta again now that construction is finished. What a disappointment! There is no evidence that the rooms were upgraded at all. While the rooms appear to be update, the exterior is badly in need of paint and the concrete walkways are very dirty - giving the hotel a run down look from the outside. Overall not a bad hotel. The grounds and surrounding areas are okay. The hotel interior is much nicer. My room had repairs in the bathroom which looked very hastily done. I reported no coffee for the coffee maker in the room on my departure. I know this is the season for Ventura and you can get the $115/night, but it is really expensive for what a La Quinta Inn.

We were driving down to LA and needed a place to rest and regroup. I like that the hotel is right off the freeway, pretty convenient. I kept thinking about their commercial about when you stay at the "La Quinta" you do great things and it's true! (well they serve breakfast which helps so you're not "hangry" on your drive) AND they allow dogs at no charge the rooms were clean and comfy, I would stay at another LA Quinta. However, they should definitely clean their surroundings/exterior.

The grounds could definitely use a good cleaning. The stairwells were full of garbage and smelled of urine. Room was dated with bare minimum amenities. Looked like they tried to sand out a cigarette burn on the edge of the tub. Everything worked and the staff was friendly and professional. This hotel is more of a road house for people traveling for work.

Just because I have a no smoking room doesn't mean you get to smoke weed in the room next to mine. I can still smell it. Yuck. Let me start by saying that the staff couldn't have been nicer! The hotel is near the freeway, which is a plus and a minus. It is also next to the train tracks and the train comes by at 2:30am, 5:15am, and 6:15am - complete with whistle. It's a really, really tired hotel and I would have stayed anywhere else if I had the choice. It was basic, and clean, but not worth $149/night. Quite frankly, a rip-off.

Other than a couple minor housekeeping issues, La Quinta is a terrific dog friendly hotel. You will be glad you stayed. The housekeeping staff is not being properly trained or checked. The manager of the hotel is never there ( or whenever I asked to see or talk to him during 4 day stay) and when I did finally meet him, he reneged on his verbal fee arrangement for future stays, and said, " can't have the suite again unless you pay more" although I am an Elite member and the advertising provides for that perk.
