We came back for my brother's funeral. It was a sad time. But, our stay at this relatively inexpensive hotel was quite pleasant. They have updated the rooms and lobby. Our room was clean snd the bed was very comfortable. Juan, at the front desk, was especially friendly and helpful. The entire staff was top notch. There is a fantastic restaurant at the Ford dealership across the street. This hotel is next to the 405, but we heard no highway noise. If you are looking for a less expensive option, t... Read more

Well, I wish I could say my review would be different that the others, but, alas, I cannot. We didn't have too many choices when determining where we were going to stay due to the location of our event and the need for secure parking. Usually, the Holiday Inn Expresses are perfect for us. However, this one, not so much. Yet, the customer service was totally AWESOME, for the most part and the shower's water pressure was to die for! I'm so torn! Like other reviews, the staff are PHENOMEN... Read more

While waiting for my final accommodation in San Fernando Valley, i spent 2 nights in this hotel. It had all i needed, including wifi (which many hotels still want to charge as an extra... not here). Everything was clean, breakfast was good, and the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Great Service, Great Breakfast, GREAT BED. VERY VERY COMFORTABLE. Fan was nice and loud. I usually turn on fan to distract any outside noise. It was very helpful. Only downside: I wish they had the fresh made hot oatmeal. It was packets. Also, not so good neighborhood. They have security at nite which is great. But dont try to walk after 8PM.

My wife and I spent the weekend here while attending our niece's graduation at Cal State Northridge. It was relative close to the university and I-405 Freeway. The staff are friendly and the room was clean. However, once I experienced the hotel and the area in which it's located, I feel it is way overpriced. The hotel is old and noisy. The rooms are small and the bathroom is out of date and needs updating. The hotel is located just off of Roscoe Blvd, a major street in an undesirable part ... Read more

This hotel is decent even though it is not a safe neighborhood. But the rate I paid of $179+ per night is a little ridiculous considering I didn't get a refrigerator and for some reason I had to ask for wash clothes and hand towels two of the five nights I stayed here.

I have stayed at many HIE locations and this one had a really friendly staff. Juan checked us in on Saturday night for our one night stay and he was so nice. He asked me if I wanted a specific floor and room location. FYI all rooms are on an upper level. The housekeeper in the morning was also super friendly. The hotel is very clean and has the typical HIE breakfast. The bathrooms were on the smaller side than your typical HIE but, all in all, I was very happy! Thank you!

First off, for some reason I'm not able to write a review with my confirmation number. I'm guessing they know they screwed up so bad that I would write them a honest and truthful review about how much this place is not friendly towards people with disabilities. I booked my stay here because it was close to family and I regret it since checkout. When I first checked in I informed the receptionist that I have PTSD and my brother has Grand mal seizures and we both suffer from anxiety. We both medi... Read more

This was a relatively quite Hotel located so close to major Freeway. Easy to get too. Very nice front desk staff. Breakfast was above average with a lot of variety. Bed, which is very important especially for an overnight stay, was comfortable. My room was clean except for a lone 3-inch cock roach showing up in the bathroom after showering in the morning. I hit it with my towel before closing the door and calling the front desk. Maid showed up quickly but my guest was gone to wherever it came... Read more

We selected this hotel as it was near our plans for the next day at one of the studios. This hotel was very easy to get to and the staff was super friendly. Desk clerk made sure we had directions to good dining places and for the next day. The hotel was clean and had everything we needed. I would recommend this.

Exactly what I would expect from a HIE. Nothing special about it besides the complete lack of places to eat around it. It worked perfect for work and the room was very spacious. The staff made the stay for me and always smiled and greeted me. Would definitely stay here again if I was in the area for work again.

Save your money. I found out the hard way that Van Nuys is a scary part of LA--and the less than friendly service at this hotel doesn't make it any more attractive. It's obvious this is an old Holiday Inn with a very poor make up job. Instead of replacing the tubs, they've tried to recover them with some kind of epoxy paint. The fixtures are dated and functional poorly. It feels like a renovation job gone bad.

I flew to California from Florida for a 4 day mini vacation to meet my sister. My flight was delayed so I called the hotel to let them know my sister would be arriving before me but the FD agent Ali something was very rude to me & said "if you're not with her she can't get the employee rate, I will charge her the full rate of $219 per night." I explained the situation regarding my flight to Ali & asked if he could please make an exception just this one time until I could get there to show my ID,... Read more

I picked this hotel because it's beside Galpin Motors and I was visiting their museum. It's 20 minutes from LAX and just off the 405 at Burbank. Loads of diners and Galpin's Horseless Carraige to eat in within walking distance. We were in the seventh floor and the room was lovely and appeared to be newly refurbished, coffee maker and nice bathroom, decent size too. The hotel is nice and offers free parking. The breakfast was good and runs till 12.00 on a Sunday. It's good value for the money an... Read more

This HIE is ok. Nothing to talk about. Close to freeway, so can hear road noise. AC unit was thru wall noisey unit. Bed was ok for comfort. Must have worked on plumbing because had some black gray water come out of faucet and shower but cleared. Didn't drink it after that. Would consider another hotel next time

We chose this hotel because we had to be in Panorama City. At first, things didn't look too good. The elevators are ancient and seem designed for freight. The room air conditioning comes out of contraption by the window that sounds like a factory blower. (At least it drowns out the sound of the freeway.) Clearly, this is an older property that has been clumsily renovated. The make-your-own pancake breakfast is pretty pathetic. You might be better off walking to the little Taco Bell branch beside... Tiny bathroom, very uncomfortable to take a shower. Terrible customer service from front desk to the manager. Called multiple times but never get a call back. Didn't meet HIE standard at all. Will never stay there again.

2 night stay with hubby & teen to attend UCLA family weekend. Hotels in the area near UCLA are scarce and expensive, so we had to go farther away. The location was actually not too far and being close to the freeway was convenient. The area it's located seems sketchy by appearance, but we didn't encounter any problems. The hotel inside is nice and clean. Room 706. The room décor was nice. Our TV didn't work when you tried to change the channel, but we weren't in the room long enough to complai... Read more

I stayed at this hotel for one night while spending a weekend in Van Nuys after staying at a different hotel the night prior. The difference was great. When I walked into the hotel the atmosphere and decor was fresh, slightly more modern, and inviting. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The room was slightly smaller than the other hotel but it was updated, clean, and fresh. In the morning a buffet breakfast was offered which I thought was nice. Overall a good stay.

This property is hidden amongst industry and car dealerships and is quite nice. There is a Taco Bell, Burger King and Diner (The Horseless Carriage) within walking distance. It has a pool but no jacuzzi. Nice king size bed on the sixth floor. Plenty of towels and change of sheets. Many television stations and hbo to choose from. The breakfast spread was amazing! Biscuits and gravy as well as scrambled eggs, hot cinnamon buns, pastries, breads, yogurts, cold cereals, hard-boiled eggs, fruits and ... Read more
