Hallways and rooms are in major need of complete overhaul as appearance was so worn that no amount of cleaning could remedy the feeling that countless guests had been through before. The gym was small. Walls were thin so sound transmission of children occurred often.

There rooms are VERY expensive for what you got. They most CROWDED bathroom! It sucked....very poor design. Mold in there bathroom, screw kept coming out of door handle, sink facets leaked, sink trap leaked and then toilet leaked too. Booked there club level- very prompt in shutting it up. Very nice people in hotel. Excellent shutter to Universal Studios. We had a wheelchair person and they were great to help her.

Our primary purpose was to visit Universal Studios and this is an awesome place to stay as we were able to walk to the park in less than 10 minutes. We booked a package including breakfast, parking and park tickets. As we are SPG members we should have had complimentary access to the internet. However, I had to ask about it several times. There was not a problem adding it, but it was a bit of a pain having to ask all of the time. Also, despite giving our room number at breakfast we were charged ... Read more

Enjoyed my stay at this Hollywood landmark hotel. You can find Hollywood everywhere. The hotel is next to universal studio and concierge offers all options to arrange the tours. Free shuttles to the studio, drop to metro rail makes rest of the city accessible. Staff is warm and courteous.

The hotel itself is very comfortable and a high standard. Unfortunately it lets it self down with poor service. They charge for internet but when you are paying $300 a night it should be free. They have coffee in the room, but only supply two small cups of milk. I went to the restaurant to get more milk, and they charged me $3. In the afternoon I went to the restaurant to get two cups of coffee and had to wait 15mins, then they charged $10. You should get premium service for the rates they... Read more

Greeting to all readers, We stayed at one of the suite room at this beautiful and lovely hotel on May 24th, 2016. The staff very friendly, professional, excellent customer and always smile. We walked in, the staff greet us and welcome us with genuine smile and tone of voice. I have to mentioned the Concierge Chizuru was above and beyond, she took her time to explain thing to do around the hotel and at Hollywood Street. Nice enough enough hotel. After finishing a 5 week trip and staying in places either at the same level as this hotel or either, I was baffled to have to pay $9.95 PER DAY for wifi. It was FREE at every other hotel. I had heard something about SPG members (I am a member) getting it for free, but when I asked concierge about this, they said no, it was in the lobby only. Saying we can use free wifi in the lobby is not a favour to your guests - it's an inconvenience. Please get with the times. I... Read more

We picked this hotel due to the close proximity to Universal Studios Hollywood. We arrived a little early about 200 pm. We had called in the morning to ensure that an early check in would be available. We were traveling with another couple that had checked in early. We had requested an adjoining room but there wasn't one available when the other couple arrived so they told the front desk to at least make sure we were in the same floor. When I checked in he asked me is it was okay the room was n... Read more

We went there for my birthday weekend, and I couldn't have been happier with the choice. The location is obviously great! (We went to Universal and to Warner Bros.) And the staff was wonderful, absolutely everyone we encountered. Got upgraded for my birthday, and free waters and wifi as SPG members. Our upgrade included the lounge, where you could stuff yourself silly, if you wanted. When we came back to the room that first night, there was a ridiculously awesome chocolate birthday cake waiting ... Read more

I have stayed at the Sheraton for business numerous times in the past and always enjoyed my stay. The rooms were well maintained and the staff friendly and attentive, especially the concierge who always remembered me. I was disappointed when we switched to the Beverly Hilton for the last few meetings but we came back to the Sheraton when the Beverly Hilton started renovations. However, I find the lobby and bar area of the Sheraton not quite as welcoming as in the past. Yes, it's new and more mod... Read more

If you are visiting Universal Studios, this is the place to stay. The hotel is full of families visiting the theme park. Parking is next to the hotel and plenty of spaces available. The hotel lobby is bustling all day and night. Check in was fast and very friendly. The room was a large suite with a living room. Bathroom amenities had everything and the room was very clean. The pool is also large. The only down side was the Club Lounge which was not very clean and had run out of food at b... Read more

An older facility but well maintained. Staying here was part of a package deal including a full breakfast and parking which I needed to remind everyone of on a daily bases. The view were great we were on the seventeenth floor, and there is an observation room on the twenty-first floor. The AC's fan was a bit noisy but after we got the room cooled down it was not needed. The refrigerator was not listed as a feature but was supplied upon request. The shower was great, lots of pressure and hot,... Read more

The stay at this hotel was pretty "fun." On most weekdays the hotel hosts this thing where you can try and throw bean bags into a hole and if you get it in on any of your tries, you get to chose any of the prizes off of the prize wheel, if you don't you spin the wheel. Some prizes on the wheel include Starwood points, Starbucks coffee and more. My family and I felt like the whole hotel had some sort of an air conditioning problem.

Stayed there two nights, three days. Staff is so rude, they act like their better then you. Only nice person that works there were the housekeeping, they are so nice. There was not any ice in the machines on our floor, tried to call front desk, no answer. Went to floor below the room there was locked, had to go up several floors to find ice. Advised staff, they just said ok. Next night same thing, they could have put a sign up!!! Had breakfast one morning, very bland. Nothing to rave about at al... Read more

Our family went to Universal Studios, Disneyland, several beaches, and also were able to visit the set of "Girl Meets World" and meet all the cast members(my daughter's main dream). We were treated as superstars at the Sheraton Universal. Hotel staff were very friendly and eager to help with any requests. Thank you for helping to make our daughter's dream come true. My husband, mother in law, and I stayed here a Thursday night. We only booked this hotel because we came down specifically for a day at universal. I gave it 3-5 only because it is very close to the park. A 5 minute walk if, but the hotel also offers a free shuttle that arrives every minutes. The shuttle also stops at the Hilton next door. You could walk there faster, but only by a few minutes. Its nice if its hot out. The front desk employees were all very nice, and helpful. They have a bar, w... Read more

It seems like there are two levels to this hotel, high end comfort and not... When you arrive you are greeted by pleasant staff and walk into an elegant lobby. You think wow! Then you take the elevator up to your "standard room"... You can see a big difference right off the bat. The hallway is dank, dark and kind of spooky. The rooms... well we did book a "standard" and that was what we got. They have not been updated in a while. (I should note, there are signs in the lobby saying that... Read more

Pretty nice place, most of the staff were helpful, room was clean. Couple of things that weren't great though 1. I was arriving at night, on my own for the first time in LA. On the website it says there is a shuttle, I called up and said I would be arriving later that day, they told me the shuttles website was down but there would definitely be a staff member from the shuttle company on the ground when I arrive that could get me on a shuttle. There was a staff member there on the ground but the... Read more

Arrived from the Sheraton New York with the odour of disappointment in my head. Dreading what i was going to see. To my pleasant surprise the foyer said it all. Opulent and friendly. From the moment we booked in to the minute we departed we were guests (not boarders like New York). They laid on champagne and chocolate strawberries for our belated anniversary celebrations. Rooms were clean and tidied daily (fresh towels and sundries). The hotel offered us much of what we expected. Shame about the... Read more

For the asinine price we paid (3x any other hotel we stayed at while in California, but they were of a higher caliber), you would expect a decent and clean room. Nope. Take your expectations and throw them aside. You are simply paying for location. The proximity to everything that matters in Hollywood is exceptional. The staff are bar-none the most hospitable I've met in my life, but the actual building & rooms need some serious attention. The wallpaper was falling off the walls and the toilets ... Read more

This hotel is so close to Universal Studios. There's a shuttle if you don't want to walk to the park. The hotel is bit dated but the rooms are comfortable and clean. This hotel had easy access to the highway. Renovations are undergoing. Request a high room for a great view. The staff are all friendly and helpful.

The hotel is convenient if you are looking for a walking distance from the park, and also if not, the hotel offers you a shuttel to the park. The prices is ok. Not very clean, you might find some details that must be attended to by the hotel staff, such us, dirty windows, doors without paint, etc. In my opinion, the hotel could be better.

Pluses- Friendly service from staff and conveniently close to Universal Studios. They have tram that comes every 15 minutes or you can walk there in about 10 minutes. Minuses- The rooms are very old and run down. The shower was not very clean, some of the lights didn't work, & the luggage stand was broken. It was disappointing, especially with how expensive the rooms are. They are going through a renovation, so hopefully when it is done it will be much better.

This hotel was perfect for our trip. We spent two days at Universal Studios and the hotel was a very short walk from the park. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. One tip, buy your park tickets through the hotel. We could have saved $30 per ticket for the front of the line passes if we would have purchased the tickets through the hotel. We stayed here because it was really close to Universal Studios and was cheaper than the Hilton next door. The hotel is nice enough, though seemingly a bit on the older side. The only 2 problems we encountered were: 1. The bath tub didn't drain well, so you were standing in a few inches of water by the time you finished your shower. 2. The elevator lights went out one time. Not sure what that was about. My older son and I weren't in it but my wife and younger son were. We heard that the elevat... Read more

We were only here for one night as we were visiting friends in the area. Although a little pricey, we were happy with our stay. They have a shuttle to the studios and city walk, but we chose to take the short walk instead. It's up hill but only about ten minutes and much easier walking back down. Our room was clean and spacious and everything we needed was provided. At the end of the day, we had drinks in their comfortable lounge and service was friendly.

We only stayed for 2 nights. The room was a bit small for 4 people. The bathroom was tiny with no ventilation at all. Beds comfy. Shuttle bus to Universal was great. Reception very pleasant - front counter staff were very friendly and efficient - well done to them! Requested a late check out and it was extended to 2pm. Enjoyed the lobby bar. Breakfast was a bit expensive. All in all - a good stay at Sheraton Universal.
