I recently stayed at the Miyako for a couple nights, and this was my second stay. Overall, this branch of the Miyako franchise is wonderfully quiet, clean, with amenities that would put it at the very minimum the same level as many mid to high range business travel hotels. It's also an eco-friendly hotel with several energy and water saving measures in place! Bonus points for being family friendly. Pros: -The price point is very affordable, ranging from $150-200 for a standard double or king ro... Read more

Very nice! Stayed here for the Long Beach Grand Prix for three nights. Super courteous staff, clean and quiet. Soaking tub/shower were awesome. The only thing missing was an outdoor pool. Also, to use the Jacuzzi in the spa it was $24.

This hotel is the best in Torrance hands down. Given the fact that it has a very small carbon foot print, anyone concerned about global warming will appreciate this innovative hotel. The rooms are the ultimate in comfort. We slept soundly each of the three nights and did not hear any of the other guests. The hotel is relatively quiet. The room was very clean and neat, with attractive décor. The bathroom is huge, with deluxe Japanese toilets, and a walk in shower with deep bathtub. We alwa... Read more

Nice quiet out of the way hotel in Torrance. Clean, well kept away from the bustle. Arrived at 3 AM in the morning, needed an extra night at check in, no problem. Minutes from LAX, worlds away from the usual LA clutter.

We loved our stay at the Miyako Hotel! Right when we walked in the building we already liked it, everything looked modern and clean. The staff at the front desk were really nice and prompt. The room was clean and modern. The bathroom was awesome and the Japanese shower style was everything we needed after being out all day long. We would definitely return to this hotel, thumbs up!

This hotel was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was great. The shower and tub were very large. The hotel was very secure. You needed your key to use the elevators. I would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at the Hybrid. Their baths are Japanese-style and deep making it very easy to soak in. The beds are comfortable and the TV and Bluray player was a nice touch. Overall great stay at a clean and friendly establishment.

Nice and comfy hotel. Rooms are clean and quiet. AC a bit weak. Breakfast is good and complete. Japaneese and american style. Just a negative point about shuttle. Free shuttle to go and back from a mall nearby. But only 1 pick up at 11am and back at 2.45pm. A bit short for hang out. Otherwise, and overall a nice stay in this place.

interestingly hybrid in many ways. With the large number of solar panels perched on the roof the power source of the hotel is hybrid. However so is the hotel itself, a mixture of East meets West. Rooms are nicely furnished and the bathrooms are great. The staff for the most part are friendly and helpful. The on premise restaurant is good as well as convenient (and there is a Japanese market next door with food court if you want) A nice clean and comfortable place to stay

This hotel is a hidden gem in the Southbay. I can honest say that this Hotel had the nicest room I've stayed in ever compared to 3 and 4 star hotels. Working for a Japanese company and travelling to Japan recently, I've learned that there is attention to details that Western American culture doesn't care for. And its in the details to the decor, cleanliness, and functionality of the rooms that makes this hotel so exceptional yet unknown to many. I've also been told that this hotel is the hig... Read more

Absolutely loved this hotel. It far exceeded any expectations, and I was disappointed that we only stayed one night. The service was excellent and the rooms are clean and modern. The bathroom is the best part. Aveda toiletries and there is a rain shower and regular shower head, along with a soaking tub. I wouldn't stay here with a work colleague, as there is a window by the shower to the bedroom -- there is a shade you can lower, but you can still see outlines or even see a little through i... We ended up being put up in the Miyako Hotel by Virgin Airlines when our international flight was delayed. The staff were amazing from the get go. They assisted us with check in and even though the kitchen had closed they stayed open longer so we could have something to eat. The restaurant staff were extremely professional and the food was delicious, when two of our party were yet to arrive they wrapped their food up and kept it warm. Virgin didn't have enough rooms for us and while the ho... Read more

We like staying this hotel whenever we go to Los Angeles area. Depending on their availability, the hotel sometimes gets really expensive. When the price is right, it is a great place to stay. It has Japanese style baths. The tub is deep and there is an extra space next to the tub for body washing. Their beds are comfortable. Furniture is simple, but modern. The place is super clean like a brand new hotel. For an additional price, you can experience the stone bath and sauna. It is conveniently l... Read more

We had lovely three days in this wonderful hotel where you would enjoy the Japanese high quality in all the hotel services. The hotel restaurant offers Japanese and American cuisine of excellent quality. The staff are most helpful with impressive Japanese style of courtesy. The hotel not far away from the beach and the hotel offers shutl service to the beach. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. We had a great stay in this friendly well managed hotel

This is great hotel to stay in if you are visiting LA. We stayed at the Miyako for 5 nights on our last leg of our 2 weeks trip to Southern California. We did have our share of problems. On our first night, our neighbors decided to have a party in their room pass 2:00am, loud music and people slamming the door while jumping from one room to another. We had to called the front desk twice. Each time, they sent security to quiet the occupants but we gave up after the second try. But the next day, w... Read more

Immaculate. Accessible parking right next to lobby. Someone came to help me with my husband's walker, our bags a b d opened the room for us. The room was lovely. Tasteful decor and the accessible bath laid out perfectly. Room service breakfast was ample. Enough for us to share. Even before we relaxed after long drive in traffic with a very good house Chardonnay, nice full glass and a good strong scotch on the rocks for my husband. This hotel had excellent customer service, and a very relaxed vibe. The breakfast was excellent, and they do offer both Japanese and American style breakfast. The room was in great shape and very clean. The bathroom was magnificent down to the heated toilet seat. Overall, would definitely recommend.

PROPERTY: This property is understated from the outside, Not a loud, party hotel at all. The hotel staff is helpful. It is geared toward serving English-speaking and Japanese-speaking customers. ROOMS: The rooms are clean and quiet. The bathroom is nice with plenty of room to get ready. The shower and tub are in one room together, which is different but works well because you end up with a lot of space to take a shower in and it is well-lit. The room includes a magnifying make-up mirror, hair dr... Read more

If you are working in the area around Toyota and Honda you will notice a preponderance of Japanese restaurants, shops, and services. The newish Miyako Hybrid Hotel is another nod to the Japanese business community. The hotel is culturally Japanese, designed beautifully and comfortable. The rooms are huge, well appointed and clean. I was a bit taken back by the large window in the shower/bath area out to the "living area" As this seems to be a business hotel and not a romantic destination. I took... Read more

My husband and I arrived in LA after a 10 hour flight from Manchester, UK. We live in San Diego, but booked at this hotel a fee weeks ago knowing that we would want to rest before driving home. We self parked for free and we're immediately greeted upon entering the lobby. The lobby is beautiful. We were upgraded to a king suite, and this made me so happy. We stayed in room 702. I have stayed in a number of hotels from 3 stars and up. This was hands down the best hotel experience yet. Everything from the staff to the restaurant to the room was amazing. Enough to have me spend my time writing a review which I don't do often at all. The room was incredible from the best shower to a bed that I did not want to get out of. This is a great place to stay if you're doing business in the Torrance area. Miyako Hybrid is a Japanese-owned hotel that no doubt caters to the many Asian businesspeople who visit Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and other companies in Torrance. I've done a lot of business in Japan and from the moment I entered the hotel, I felt like I was in a Japanese hotel. Not fancy, but clean, efficient and well laid-out, the hallmark of a Japanese business hotel. Upstairs, the room was again not fancy but clean... Read more
