I had a blood stained towel in the bathroom. When I called Housekeeping, they asked me if I'd like it to be replaced! I have never seen staff this untrained and disorganized. I can't treat this as a one-off incident! In general, there are no plug points in the room, that are within human reach to charge phones, laptops etc. The only reachable plug-point is on the desk lamp, which is unacceptable. The entire hotel seems to be perpetually under renovation, and looks grim and dull. There is only o... Read more

A little expensive for the quality. Bed was uncomfortable, sink was dirty, and we only received decaf coffee packets, which took a long time to get fixed. The staff was nice, cookie was great, and check out was convenient though.

Probably the nicest staff I've encountered anywhere - super helpful and friendly. The hotel felt a little dated but was very comfortable and very clean. The pool area was small but nice and the breakfast was very good. I also appreciated the free parking!

The bathroom was in such a poor state, the handles on the sink and shower were falling off and because they had been put on wrong, I was literally burned by scalding hot water. Since I was staying only one night and completely naked when this all occurred, I didn't call for service as I was also by myself and didn't feel safe calling for help.

Hotel is very dated and the rooms are very dated and old as well. Entire facility needs a facelift. Our particular room had a broken door hinge for the door that enclosed the refrigerator. The carpet was also full of hair and hairpins and it seemed like they never vacuumed prior to our stay. We were lucky that we were staying for only one night. Otherwise, I would have complained even more so as we are a family traveling with children and things like the broken door hinge is a safety issue ... Read more

The service was all of a quality you would expect from a hotel at this price. We had a very short run-in with one run service person in the restaurant that ended up coloring our stay quite a bit for a few reasons, but I'll skip telling a story. The hotel itself is very clean and we got a great night's sleep. It needs a real face lift though and some general grooming to be a repeater in normal circumstances. The staff interaction is enough to keep us from probably ever going back because to ou... Read more

We stayed for a few nights here while touring. It is a nice hotel with very friendly staff, and a good breakfast buffet. It is a long way from downtown LA though, or indeed anywhere else, aside from the shopping mall across the street. The shopping mall is huge, mainly fashion shops, some restaurants, and a few other stalls selling jewellery and suchlike. Overall, it was OK.

Rated average because I expected more from a security perspective. Transients sleeping in their cars in the parking lot and roaming around inside... in the elevators and standing outside the concierge room trying to sneak in...ludicrous. nice central location, front desk staff was super friendly, professional...breakfast was very good!

There is not much to say other than this was not the usual Hilton experience I am used to. The front desk staff were sub par as well as the room and amenities that were given. The room felt old and dirty. It also smelled like old person and mold.

I travel to LA at least twice a month and stay a week at a time. This is my preferred place to stay. Amenities are great including heated pool, beautiful hotel with updated rooms. Suites are available as well. Nice bar with friendly staff and open seating. Nice restaurant in the hotel as well as a gift shop and coffee bar. Word of advice is to book early because they fill up fast.

The nice thing about a chain hotel can be the consistency. I appreciate that the Double Tree's Hotel has a comfortable bed, spacious room, a cookie on check in, bottles of water in the room, and it's safe. The room was very quiet even though 1110 was directly across from the elevator.

Wow, were we ever blown away by the service we received from Doubletree! Our maid, Mona, was very thorough, the bellmen Raul and Paul were friendly and helpful, the bartender made the best drinks ever, the coffee shop lady Jocelyn was so friendly, we had the best waiters (Tomas, Jose, and Arturo) each morning and loved our fresh-squeezed orange juice, the location of the hotel is just so convenient, we could go on and on. Best. Hotel. Ever.

If you are on business or visiting Southern California on vacation, this facility is very convenient. It is 5 minutes to the beach (Torrance, Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach), walking distance to one of the largest malls in the US (Del Amo) and close to a large number of restaurants. We stayed here five nights on our family vacation. We paid for the bed and breakfast. That is my only complaint really because the front desk did not provide enough vouchers and made it difficult to get enough. I did enjoy the location. The hotel was a close drive to the beach, and walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We went to universal studios and knotts berry farm and the hotel seemed in between both places.

Stayed here for one night on our way from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Great location near mall, Redondo Beach, and Manhatten Beach. The staff was more than great checking in and out. They have a large outdoor pool and hot tub, a beautiful lobby and a nice restaurant. The room was a normal two bed room but updated. Only complaint was being able to hear people on the restrooms next to us and above us early in the morning.

From the front desk staff to the restaurant servers to the guest rooms and right up to the Penthouse, the service at the Double Tree was again outstanding. I stay at this property at least once a year. I've never had any issues until this visit. The service in the lounge for dinner was lousy. Our drinks ran empty during the meal with no one coming by to check on the table. I left my room at 7:30am to go to work. Came back at 3:30p and room was still not serviced. The day before the housekeeper took my used towels but left no fresh towels. Luckily there was one towel left that was fresh. Disappointed that service was lacking on this visit.

It is right across from Del Amo Mall and by plenty of places to eat such as Benihana, Souplantation, etc. I was surprised at how clean the facility was and how nice the pool and hot tub was. Did not recieve diamond elite check-in. Stood bebind the crowed like a fool. Because it's a weekend stay, the lounge is closed. The hotel is beautiful and in a very convenient location. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, from the front desk to the gentleman who was working in the gift shop. I have only two complaints about the hotel. One they can do nothing about and the other they can. The first one, the ceilings in the bathroom are low. Overall amenities are OK. Located in a reasonably nice area for shopping, not much else. I have visited other areas not as supposedly upscale as the general LA area, and this hotel would still rate only a '3' in those areas also, imho. Wireless is NOT available in the meeting rooms, even if you are a guest, unless the meeting organizer pays for it. This was a little frustrating.

Stayed in the tower portion, looks like an older three story hotel is in the back. Room was good. Watch out for the luggage scam. They hide the luggage carts when you check in the hotel. They have someone who has to get it and then they take it to your room. If you like to do this yourself you are out of luck, it ends up costing an extra 10 bucks.

Interior of the hotel is nice. Everything is clean. The bed was comfortable. It is located close to LAX and in a shopping center, which is convenient. The lounge offers full menu till 11pm, which is nice when one had a long day and wants to eat quick but decent dinner and go straight to bed. Breakfast is not included for the stay which, I think, is a bit odd because the rate wasn't that cheap. Though it wasn't a big problem to me.

A maid ate the last piece of chocolate I had saved for a coworker. I had brought the chocolate all the way from Columbia South America. She left it on her dresses and when we returned after the cleaning crew came though it was gone. I know she didn't eat it because she was with me since we had left it in her room. We got a breakfast voucher, but I was still very pissed off.

For the most part- things were ok. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The breakfast was adequate. But why do you stay at a Hilton to just sleep in a room? I noticed lots of flight crews and I felt like this was the hotels primary purpose- just fill up the rooms without regard for details, they are leaving soon anyway. For example- I asked for extra pillows- and they accommodated me - but without pillow cases. I had to call back down to get what I thought should be on any pillow they ... Read more

Highly recommended. I will definitely repeat in the future. The location is perfect, being right across the street from the large Del Amo Mall and is surrounded by many great restaurants, many within walking distance. The balcony in the room (facing the mall) gave a great view at sunrise being on the 9th floor. The staff was excellent - always very friendly and helpful.

I agree with the review " Step it up Doubletree". The bathroom is very old and dated and small. We only got 2 towels each day unless I caught the maid & asked for extra. One day I left a note with some money asking the maid for extra drinking glasses as 2 never seemed like enough. I got 2 extra water bottles, but no glasses. The hotel is in a good location and near many Restaurants within walking distance. There is also a very nice pool area with a tropical feel to it.

Outside our 2nd floor window was a roof with heating and air conditioner compressors. It was very noisy and a/c compressor kept going on and off all night long. We wonder if we were given this room since we asked for senior rate.

Great location next to the Del Amo Fashion Centre. It also has a courtyard and pool. There's fridge and coffee maker. It would have been great if they also have an in room safe. Toiletries -mini packs, are provided. What I liked most was the spaciousness of the room. One area of improvement would be the housecleaning staff could be loud when they talked to each other, so a bit of quiet or soft voices certainly would be much appreciated.

Several pros for this hotel--large parking lot out front; welcoming lobby with beautiful orchids and candlelit lanterns; warm cookies with check in; good breakfasts; nice pool/courtyard; lounge/bar; nice rooms with small refrigerator and coffee maker; comfortable bed; very friendly staff Cons--have to call for more than two towels; water softener makes it hard to rinse off soap and shampoo; very small bathroom We stayed for several days and enjoyed the hotel. Very well presented hotel with friendly staff and good food. But as close to LAX airport a long way from the central parts and beeches of Los Angeles. Close to a large Mall this was not a reason for travelling to Los Angeles.

Staff is friendly and always helpful. The property itself offers the usual amenities, including good parking. The rooms themselves are certainly adequate, but starting to show signs of wear. The surrounding area has plenty of food and beverage options for anyone. Internet is sloooow... but that is almost the norm at most hotels any more. They seem to host a lot of parties, events, etc., and there can be a lot of noise at the lower levels. The outside courtyard is nice and there is a gas fueled f... Read more

We stayed here a few nights as part of a tour. There's not much to do in the area but the hotel bar was nice and served great food and lots of gin. The rooms were clean and well maintained. There's a nice pool area but we didn't use. There fire pit seating area gets taken up quickly so you have to get in there early

This hotel is not the same standard as other Hilton hotels. It's very old and the walls are thin. You can hear every flushing toilet and hear all the bosses inn the hall and adjoininging rooms, including people having sex.

This hotel is in a great location for shopping and eating. Its a short ride to the beach/coast. The thing is they don't take as much care of the rooms as you'd expect. They don't clean the bathrooms as well as they should. The bedding isn't very nice. The furniture looks archaic. On the upside, breakfast is pretty good and the omelet chef is phenomenal. The pool and hot tub are large and in an easily accessible courtyard.

Excellent location for shopping and food. Both accessible by walking. The hotel is on the end of a "Restaurant Row", including Benihana, El Torino, Soup Plantation, Red Lobster, Elephant Grill, Marie Callendars and more. Directly across the street is the large Del Amo Shopping Mall with too many stores and restaurants to list. (But, you can google it.) The Doubletree in Torrance must have passed it prime several decades ago. The entire hotel looks dated and is in dire need of a renovation. The internet connection is by far the worst I have experienced this year and I have travelled to villages in developing countries. This includes the "Premium High Speed Internet" for which you pay additional $4.95! (0.78Mbit/Sec) The housekeeping did a subpar job, and left wet towels on the bed and chairs. The bathroom was never really cleaned. I would al... Read more

I don't understand why 60 & 70 year people can't turn up the music to dance. how else can we feel the beat of the music. It seems like all our lives we are told to turn down the music. we were just enjoying the celebration of life. Even older folks get turned up once in a while... This was disappointing event.

Nice hotel, restaurant, gym, pool. The sheets felt great. Housekeeping was excellent. The only sad part is the smoking is everywhere outside. If you are in the atrium you might have to walk through smoke or you might not. There is no designated smoking area. I had no idea so many people smoked. It's just a small thing but I was surprised by it. The rest of the hotel is excellent.

I attended a wedding nearby in October and I decided to stay at this hotel. The valet and front desk staff were great. I came back to the hotel around 1130pm and the front desk agent gladly gave me a bag with goodies in it. The rooms are nice and clean. I would have given 5 stars, but my brother, cousin and I waited for 15-20 minutes at the bar with no acknowledgment. He glanced over at us but not even a welcome or I'll be right with you. Hotel is in a great part of the city. Lots to do and eat around it and short ride to the ocean. Lobby and main level of hotel are very nice and seem to be up kept nicely. The rest of the hotel not so much. Rooms are small and dated. Light above sink was rusted. Bathrooms seemed dirty due to age. Same with furniture. Depending on price you pay and what your plans are it's not bad but can't say it's great hotel. Needs a remodel bad.

Wifi down during entire 3day stay was an inconvenience. Comparison with closest comparable hotel is the Torrance Marriott across the street closer to the Del Almo mall. Parking is easier at this hotel with an open self parking lot. Marriott charges $22 per day for self parking in structure which brings their total day costs to a higher level. Do not feel comfortable in that structure.
