Have stayed here many times over the years. It's been 8 years since I was here and it's still a good deal during the week days ... weekend rates are pretty high, so you might be able to find someplace else for Friday - Sunday that's cheaper than $175.00. During the week though it's a good deal as you don't have to pay extra for in and out parking and the internet is free. They have a buffet breakfast that's fair ... and the rooms are clean, neat and beds and pillows are great. They only ... Read more

I though being close to Heavenly gondola was important. It is not since it was closed and driving to the parking lot is best with ski equipment. So dont stay here due to location. Bate and switch rates. Booked online w/ prepaid rate, card didnt go through and they didnt mention this to me at check in so they charged me full rate and made me upgrade to a larger room since i needed a roll away bed. They could have cancelled the reservation and i would have received a email. They said they di... Read more

We were excited to spend a couple of days in the snow. We are Aspire customers with IHG so we have stayed in many, many Holiday Inns. This was by far the worst. The room was worse than a Motel 6. In fact Motel 6 would be a huge upgrade. The room was small, old, dirty and run down. I would avoid this place if at all possible. Or adjust your expectations. There is a lovely Hyatt right across the street.

This hotel is within easy walking distance to the Heavenly gondola and casinos so it is a great place if you are looking to ski or for night life. The room I had was small and the amenities one step up from Motel 6 with plastic glasses, no decaff coffee and a view of the parking lot. It was clean and comfortable though, and the breakfast was fine.

Although in planning our cross country trip I had carefully made reservations at ONLY places that were both handicap accessible and pet friendly, when we arrived here the desk clerk assured me that the entire building is not pet friendly. ..however she asked "is your dog a service animal? " I assured her that she is, so she told me that it's all right. Room fine

We arrived much earlier than normal check in, but checked with the front desk anyway (I certainly didn't expect our room to be available - and it wasn't - no big deal!). The gentleman at the front desk said that he'd call me when our room was available, and we were free to park in the parking lot if we wanted to go out and walk around the area. So we did that - this hotel is right across the street from Heavenly Village, so we walked around there and had lunch and shopped for a while. The fron... Read more

My friend and I just stayed here this past weekend and really like how clean the room was and how big and spacious the bathroom was. Also, the included breakfast was good. Lastly, this Holiday Inn is centrally located to lots of shopping, restaurants and the CA-Nevada State line. The manager Shari was very friendly and helpful.

It was fine for a one night stay. Bed linens were a little dirty and there were ants in the bathroom. A little frustrating that a late check-out couldn't be accommodated since I'm Platinum Elite and there's a 4 hour window between check-out and check-in so I felt they could have made more of an effort. IHG members get rooms further away from the road, which is nice. Bathroom was big but had an extra TV cabinet in it with nothing inside... Are they using the bathrooms for extra storage?

The title says it all. We have always been pleased with the accommodations at Holiday Inn Express. The property and room was well maintained with free parking, internet, one of the best freebie breakfasts you'll find anywhere in a hotel of this caliber. Friendly and accommodating front desk personnel. Although we didn't use them, the pool area and whirlpool looked very inviting and clean. They both close at dusk. I didn't see a gym. This property is located within easy walking distance to casino's, shopping and restaurants. While the room itself was very clean the furniture and wallpaper is very dated, and the fabric on the chairs is worn and even thread bare in some areas. The bed was quite comfortable though. We stayed in one of the upper rooms in the back of the property and was very quiet. The breakfast was nice and very well organized, even seem to have more choices then other Holiday Inn Express properties we have ... Read more

We were a group of 7 and had a wonderful stay in this hotel during our stay in South Lake Tahoe. The hotel is very well situated. The gondola is a walking distance and also has nearby great eateries and shopping areas. The staff is very helpful and gave us tips for making the visit more enjoyable and efficient. The hotel rooms are clean and very spacious. The breakfast spread is also good. Definitely recommendable for family with kids.

Perfectly situated in the heart of South Lake Tahoe within easy walking distance to various attractions, casinos, restaurants, this is a typical Holiday Inn Express (which is not a bad thing). Great breakfast each morning, which is included in the price of the room, and that's always good. Rooms were clean, convenient parking, nice pool (except for screaming kids!), extremely courteous front desk staff. We had connecting rooms with a jack and jill bath, and the layout was a tad odd, but nothi... Read more

Room was large and comfortable, may be getting a tad dated, but exactly as depicted and was clean. Pool area was excellent - I especially liked the pines which surrounded the hot tub. It's only a five minute walk to the downtown area/Nevada state line. The included breakfast was surprisingly good. The pics did it justice, service was great - good experience all around.

The mattress was SO bad, my husband had to sleep on the floor. The mattresses are very soft, so much so that sitting on the edge causes it to compress like a pancake. We planned to spend 2 nights and had to check out after one night. The desk person said that the mattresses are new, but the owner bought all the same for every room. So, the owner must have bought the cheapest mattresses he could buy. Otherwise, the hotel was OK.

We went there for a relaxing 2 days but the front desk staff were a source of aggravation. I explained twice that we each booked a night and wanted to stay in the same room and twice I was told it was fine. The internet did not work, we had troubles with the plumbing and the walls were so thin we heard a lot that we didn't want to hear from adjacent rooms. Whenever I tried to call the front desk the phone faded out so I had to walk across the parking lot to see them. They could not help us ge... Read more

We visited over the 4th of July weekend so every place in Tahoe was expensive including the Holiday In Express. The location is perfect. We were across the street from many food choices and close to the Heavenly Village and casinos. We walked 10-15 minutes to the docks to watch the most amazing fireworks we have ever seen. They lasted 25 minutes! Wow. So glad we had just purchase 'Chill Out Buddies' so we had comfy seats on the beach. The staff was helpful and breakfast was good too. Our room ... Read more

This place clearly used to be a motel (all rooms have an outside entrance). You are paying for the location, which is awesome. You are less than a 5 minute walk from the shops and restaurants at Heavenly Resort. I also like the free breakfast, although it was so busy it was difficult to find a place to sit. The room itself is clean but outdated. We had a King Room and it was pretty cramped. There is also very limited parking. My biggest annoyance was the terrible wifi. However the staff was frie... Do yourself a favor and make sure you are on the second floor! We could not sleep due to people walking on top floor. It made our stay really bad when you cant sleep. Breakfast area is sooo tiny and crowded. Make sure you go early. The location of the hotel is great and walking distance to restaurants and shops and that makes it great.

We stayed at the property over a long weekend, July 13-17. We were pleased with the room size, cleanliness, and central location. The breakfast was good and the night host, David, was very obliging in having the coffee available all night. I wish there had been an outside sitting area near our room to enjoy a cold beer before walking into town for supper.

The facility was clean and the breakfast was pretty good. Our accommodations were nice. We had two separate rooms with a king bed in each room. The mattress was a little softer than I like it but we slept fine. We had a mini/bar-like area and a gas fireplace which we didn't use because it was summer. Unfortunately the sauna room was being remodeled so we were not able to use it. It would be nice to have a workout facility onsite but we did quite a bit of walking so it all balanced out. ... A decent hotel with some pro's and cons. Location is good. Rooms are spacious and clean enough. Beds are good. Nice outdoor pool too. Breakfast is o.k. but the area lacks in space. Also the rooms are a bit noisy. We were lucky to be on the top floor.

We stopped in South Lake Tahoe for a couple days on our way to Sacramento. This hotel is a great location...near all the shops and lots of restaurants. Pool and hot tub are nice. Room was comfortable and even though hotel was close to sold out it was quiet. I used washer and drier and both worked better then most in hotels. We will definitely stay again if in the area!

We did a lot of driving on our latest road trip from California through the American West. We both thought that this hotel was not only the very best of the lot for cleanliness and friendliness, but also for the breakfasts. We were given an incredibly quiet room down in the back and the laundry facilities were directly across the parking lot. The location was perfect for us. We were able to find restaurants and gas stations very easily and the drive around the entire lake was stunning. Howe... Read more

The mattresses are lumpy and sagging badly and need to be changed immediately. It's a shame because otherwise this hotel is above average for it's price category. The rooms are pretty, the air conditioning is quiet - not the loud motel type. The bathrooms are large with marble counters. The breakfast is okay - a bit cold but better than the usual quality for this price range. Location is walking to the casinos although this hotel isn't on the lake.

Mixed feelings about this place. Compared to a UK HIEx, the rooms are large and storage plus bathrooms good but it very much feels like a refurbished motel not a hotel with all rooms accessing straight from the car parking area. The bedroom walls are stud partitioning so sound insulation is pretty poor. However, the accomodation blocks are a good distance from the main road so our nights were not disturbed by traffic. Location-wise, it is great. 5 mins from Heavenly and ten mins from a number... Read more

Holiday Inns are pretty reliable and this property is no exception. The rooms are very large, the breakfast is decent and the staff did all they could to accommodate my friend's and my request to have our rooms be near each other. Are the rooms fancy? No, but my purpose of going to Lake Tahoe was not to spend time in the room. The bed was comfortable and I had everything I needed. It was also the most reasonably priced property in the area for the weekend I went.

We enjoyed our recent two night stay at the Holiday Inn Express South Lake Tahoe. It's a great choice for someone who wants to be a short walk away from the casinos and resorts at Stateline. Accessing the hotel by car is very convenient because it is directly across from the end of Pioneer Trail Road and therefore has it's own traffic light to make it easier to enter or exit. This place was nothing to write home about, so it is worth letting travelers know what they are walking into... Exterior Corridors, Broken Hot Tub, Dated Furniture, Bathroom etc. This feels more like a motel from the 80's than a Holiday Inn Express. I called ahead to see if early check in was available and I was met with an abrupt "NO". It was in good proximity to the lake as well as the Casino's which was ice to be able to walk but beyond that I am certain some of the many other options would... Read more
