Check in was quick with our existing reservation and the staff was very friendly. We had a one-bedroom suite and really liked it. The bedroom is very spacious, the bed was large and comfortable. The main room was also big with several sitting opportunities and the kitchen had everything we needed, and even more. Everything was clean in our suite. We skipped the housekeeping for the two nights we were there and got rewarded with a bottle of wine. Make sure to pick up an event calendar at the fron... Read more

This is a quaint little resort within walking distance of a number of great restaurants and the Gondola to Heavenly. The rooms are cozy and the views are beautiful. They offer Starbucks throughout the day at no extra charge, and even offer "goodies" if you are ok with forgoing full housekeeping service which most hotels simply ask for this but never offer anything in return. Price is right and location is great.

This Hotel is located close to Casino's, gondola's and Heavenly Village with in walking distance. The room was nice and we had a 2 bedroom Suite which was very big and had fully equipped kitchen. The only downside is that the walls are thin and so are the floors and ceilings so if you have noisy neighbors it really is a bummer. During my stay there was a family with kids and they allowed them to ride bikes and scooters on the Cobblestone walkway below our room...at 9 in the morning. When I repor... Read more

Staff was mostly very helpful and location is central. Accommodations are dated and only a shower no tub. Phone in our room was broken and flashing all the time. On the plus side it was quite inexpensive and included a full hot breakfast. I would stay there again but would check room. They had no available blankets at night with none in the room but gave me a $14 credit for inconvenience.

4 day stay at the end of the off season. 2 room suite with kitchenette. Prices very reasonable for the accommodations. Free breakfast in the morning, standard food. Eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, bagles and cereal. No, this is not the Marriott but its very nice. Hotel staff has all been very pleasant to interact with. Out door pool and jacuzzi. Parking is covered. Located close to shopping and bars.

The staff here was friendly and helpful. Plus, the convenience of Heavenly Village is fantastic. However, we heard the family in the suite above us all evening and the room was in need of extensive maintenance and updating. If not for the deal we got via Travel Zoo, I would not have paid to stay here.

We enjoyed another great stay at the Forest Suites. This is our 6th stay at this property. This year we invited our daughter, son in law and 4 year old granddaughter to join us. They also agreed that this is great place. It is very family friendly. Our granddaughter enjoyed the pool and the arts and crafts offered in the lobby. We enjoyed the spacious rooms, comfortable beds and free breakfast. The breakfast includes eggs, bacon, sausage, muffins, waffles, toast, juice and coffee. Sal wo... Read more

The property is an older one, large and centrally located on the California side of South Lake Tahoe. The property is a very easy walk to a large shopping center housing a Raley's Supermarket, a sporting goods store and assorted shops. It is a block from Tahoe Boulevard and lots more shopping and restaurants. Just a few blocks from the lake and casinos. We stayed in a two room suite with a kitchenette. The kitchen is minimally stocked with plates, cups, eating utensils, a few pots and pans,... Read more

Another great stay in Tahoe at the Forest Suites Resort! Love the location in Heavenly. We walked to shops, restaurants and coffee shops . Although I don't gamble, casinos are walking distance as well as entertainment. The suites are large and very comfortable. It's nice to have a kitchenette in the suite too. I had a massage on site. It was fabulous! So wonderful to walk to and from the facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. It's a family friendly resort and offers activities for chil... Read more

This is an older property right next to the Heavenly Village Gondola. It was clean and everything worked. The breakfasts were surprisingly good for the typical buffet style you usually expect. I was impressed by the Starbucks Coffee that was provided. The beds were comfortable. We stayed in a one bedroom suite which was quite large. The rooms were somewhat dark. The young ladies at the front desk were quite helpful. My family of 4 stayed here for a wedding. The room was spacious and comfortable. We loved the location as it was close to everything. The parking was nice as it was covered. The customer service was very good too. We liked the pool area and breakfast area. The property is a little dated but that added the fun of staying this mountain resort area.

The property is an older one and is showing a lot of wear. We got a two bedroom suite through an online deal and I was really excited about it. The location is central and within easy walking distance of Harrah's and Harvey's. The lobby is nice and the staff seem okay but we weren't immediately greeted when we first got to the front desk. The room is really not to my standards at all. The carpet is stained and seems dirty. The kitchen has broken tiles and old cabinets that don't close all the... Read more

I brought 24 teachers and staff here for a week to study the Lake Tahoe watershed and we stayed at this hotel. As others have said, it's very conveniently located and for my group, having a grocery store within a block's walk was perfect! The rooms we had were all nicely appointed and furnished. The kitchens were reasonably well supplied with all the necessities. Breakfast was hot and plentiful and there was a nice variety of carbs and protein. The facilities and location were perfect. We were able to use their Sierra room for our Friday dinner catered by the resort and Saturday evening for our family program The location was very convenient. Walking distance to Shopping, casinos, hiking. The teenagers drove a short distance for kayaking. No need to worry about breakfast since the resort provides free breakfast and we rented their bar-b-que grills for our lunch and games on their lawn area. The suites are a little on the ol... We keep coming back because we enjoy the personal customer service, clean and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, quality bedding, plentiful breakfast, and great location at a reasonable price. This time I had an opportunity to take a refreshing dip in the pool. I would like to thank Lupe for helping us book our room and Front Office Manager, Susan Garcia for warmly welcomin... Read more

Our suite was very dated/run down. Carpets were snagged and floors were noticeably uneven. No dishwasher or disposal in kitchen, no dishrack to dry dishes in once washed, and only one kitchen towel provided. Shower in second bathroom is very small, if you are big or tall, plan on showering in mbr. Tile work and grout throughout unit was in sad shape. Luggage cart does not fit in elevator unless you physically lift it to get it in. On the plus side, unit was very spacious, more closet space i... Read more

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Suites Resort. While we didn't have much of a view, the location was very good and we could walk into the village easily to lots of restaurants and the Heavenly Gondola. Yes, the resort is showing some age, but it was very well maintained. The pull out couch bed was not comfortable enough to sleep on, however, so be prepared. We never heard our neighbor's and the breakfast buffet is a notch above most complimentary breakfast offerings. The WiFi was g... Read more

I booked this hotel based on the pictures and reviews on trip advisor. I am extremely disappointed. My room is a standard king room, I am writing this review laying on top of springs, it feels like box springs not a mattress. It is in a good location right under the gondola, and across the street from Heavenly. Walking distance to the casinos.

My husband, myself and 4 year old daughter stayed at the Forest suites. We enjoyed this affordable treasure of a place. The pool was very family friendly. We were able to rent a grill and create a great seafood feast. The hotel is near many great restaurants and a grocery store if you prefer to prepare your own meals. The hotel hot breakfast started every day nicely. They also have a lot of family activities. Our daughter enjoyed the morning craft times. The location is perfect. The staff w... Read more

I came visiting Tahoe for the first time for my birthday and it was so wonderful! Great staff, loved the green clean program, buffet breakfast, and lobby amenities- like jello day and s'mores by the fire. The living room was very spacious! big enough to build a giant blanket fort!! .. i mean not that i did that or anything... The fully equipped kitchen was a perfect way to save a few dollars and cook yourself. It was close to a supermarket, restaurants, and the lake. 10/10 would recommend. I can... Read more

Forest Suites is close to it everything and easy walking to shopping, casinos, Base Camp Pizza (yum!!). The hot tub and pool were clean & relaxing. Single room suite was just right for 4 adults, but the sleeper sofa not so good. Breakfast buffet was just enough to start the day.....we will be back!

We stayed because booking in Lake Tahoe were tight, and they had rooms available. We had a one bedroom suite. The room was fine, everything worked ok. But there were a number of problems. First is parking. There is not adequate parking on their property and there is no reasonable nearby alternative. We drove around one night for 20 minutes trying to find a parking space. They have emphasized landscaping over parking spaces, and that tells you all you need to know about these guys. They a... Read more

The Forest Suites is located right in the heart of South Lake Tahoe, walking distance to everything you would want. The Resort itself has serious charm, a warm comfortable feel, and what more could you need in Tahoe. The staff was super accommodating and very friendly. I have been coming here for years, and the place just gets better and better. Great breakfast too that comes complimentary. I would highly recommend to stay here and only here if you are coming to South Lake.

We have stayed at this place 3 times the past 6 years for a family reunion. The prices are a bit steep, but so is the area. They have a courtyard with a small pool and hot tub in the middle. It is gated to keep out the critters. It is very close to Harrah's, so we would always run over there and gamble. The rooms are pretty spacious with a full stove and fridge in the kitchen area. Stayed here for the the American Century Celebrity Golf tournament. Nice place, perfect location, some of the property is getting a little older but everything was clean and well maintained, breakfast was included and all of the people working there were helpful and nice. Our unit had a full kitchen and full size refrigerator Ideal for ski season as it is literally on the Gondola for Heavenly California Side.

We were in Lake Tahoe for a dance competition and wanted a resort with a full kitchen which this place has, sort of. The dinnerware, silverware and glassware settings were incomplete. The cabinets were dirty as was the refrigerator. We started off in room 211, a 2 bedroom suite. It was FILTHY! It smelled musty despite the pine tree air freshener hanging in the hallway. The grout in the bathrooms and kitchen were crumbling and did not appear clean. We tried to just "deal with it" but the last str... Read more
