My husband and I were in Sonoma for a conference he was attending. We chose this hotel because it was located in a less congested part of town. It's also a Marriott brand and we like Marriott! It was raining when we arrived. The check-in process was pleasant. The staff was wonderful, especially Emily. We enjoyed a wine tasting each night and sat by the fire in the lobby. The room was cozy and had a fireplace. There was construction going on while we were there but it wasn't disturbing us. Th... Read more

The Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance is a great property. It is located just one mile from the Plaza, so you can walk downtown to restaurants and wine tasting. They also offer a complimentary shuttle for cool evenings. As a Platinum Marriott member, I have always been upgraded to the Cottages, which are suites with fireplaces. Other amenities include bikes, a pool/sauna, a full service spa with it's own private pool and cabana, complementary evening wine tasting, and one of the best restaurants i... Read more

I went here for a quick get away with my husband. The rooms were comfortable, restaurant downstairs was very good - especially the breakfast! Went to the spa for a facial, which was wonderful... although quite a trek to get there as it was at the very back of the property. Didn't realize how big the property was! Location was perfect for people wanting to be near the square, although just not right on the square. Would stay there again if I found a good deal, as I though it was a bit overpri... Read more

Public spaces are everything you want in a weekend getaway retreat in the valley of the moon. Great spa! Great restaurant on site. Super convenient location. I feel that the rooms need some updating. Comfortable and clean, just not up to what I expect for $250 a night.

I returned to the lovely property for a visit, which was an easy choice given the charm of the property and graciousness of the staff. Whilst the rooms are dated, I appreciate the seclusion and privacy while still maintaining a sense of community with the cottage layout. The location is easily reached from San Francisco, which is a plus. I appreciate the hotel's shuttle service which deposits you in the local town close to all of its charming boutiques, restaurants, and drinking establishment... Read more

Location, location, location! The Lodge is centrally located near shopping, wineries, and restaurants. With a beautiful and cozy lobby & bar, it's the perfect hangout after your long day of wine tasting. We stayed in a cottage which was nice and clean but could use a few updates. Other than that, this resort is top notch comfort.

A pretty hotel in a beautiful part of California. We checked in early and we were advised that whilst our room wasn't ready straight away, it would be within the hour. We had a wander into town and came back a couple of hours later to find our room still wasn't ready. After waiting around in the lobby for another hour, the receptionist advised that we were being upgraded to a better room, with a view of the pool that was ready straight away. The room was spacious enough for the 3 of us and the b... Read more

This property does not match up to what I would call a resort. If you are going to charge a resort of $25 then you should get something for it. I am a premium status with Marriott. The lobby and bar were near nice but the rooms are a little dated.

The lobby and ground of this hotel were beautiful and ultimately the reason I decided to book a stay here (in addition to a considerable corporate discount). Unfortunately, the guest rooms don't match the quality of the rest of the resort. The fireplace was a nice touch, but overall our room felt a little dingy and dated. We also had to call maintenance twice, which was not ideal on a relaxing first anniversary vacation. On the first occasion, our shower did not seal, resulting in flooding all o... Read more

This hotel is overpriced for what it offers. There are several reasons why I make that statement, which I outline below. - They use a Renaissance brand, and as a longtime user of Marriott hotels, I can say that the level of service, comfort and overall experience, the brand they use does not make it justice (except for the premium room fare). This place it at best an above average Marriott or a really good Courtyard. - Room was a standard, small place, with two twin beds and a sofa bed. We asked... Read more
