I attended a wedding here last weekend, so didn't have any expectations about the hotel or venue. Boy, was I pleasantly surpriised! All the rose bushes were in full bloom. The entire resort grounds were immaculate, as well as our guest room. I wanted to find a hotel with a spa because I intended on getting the full spa experience. The parking was really good and free. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a very nice business lunch at their restaurant. While I can't say that it would an inexpensive option, it is in line with the area and for the nice atmosphere and selection. The wood fired oven as you walk in is enjoyable. I had hoped to lodge there, but you need reservations well in advance.

While this hotel is showing signs of age that should not hold you back from staying here. The staff are all very attentive and friendly. The location is nice and some rooms have views of the vineyards. The king suite was nicely sized and came with a fireplace which was a nice touch. Marriott platinum status. Paid for trip on points. Got upgraded to a lodge room and it's very nice. Didn't even have to ask for upgrade, which I always appreciate. The staff is friendly and welcoming, the pool is excellent and the concierge is top notch and came with some excellent recommendations.

Stayed here last June. Cant say enough about the service. We stayed in a cottage and were gone most of day, it was the perfecf place to return and relax. Dowtown Sonoma is walking distance, they have a scenic trial hike in the morning and relaxing atmosphere in evening. The hotel bar and lobby are great for relaxing as well. When I return to Sonoma I will be staying here

This was my first time staying in Sonoma. The property is centrally located in Sonoma. The Bistro is a wonderful restaurant and they will make items not on the menu. I met Michael at the bar in the Bistro and he was wonderful. After having 2 meals in the area not cooked the way I asked, Michael made sure my food was perfect for me. The spa on property is also great, though they will be closing down the mani/pedi section in a few weeks :(. Best amenity is the free shuttle to the square. My fiancé and I stayed several days at this hotel in May 2016. We enjoyed the pool, restaurants on-site, location, modern rooms. We did not have a chance to use the bikes to explore the area - next time. Wish the restaurants were open later for dinner but that is our only (minor) complaint.

Poor customer service and accountability have left me with a sour taste in my mouth after spending two nights and $1255.00 here this weekend. I booked my room with Visa debt card and noticed the room charges already debited but when I went check out there was no credit on the bill. Although pricey...I get it. In the heart of wine country, this hotel is fabulous in regards to location. Attended a wine tasting at the hotel before dinner and was not disappointed. Young lady knew her products. Easy shuttle or walk down to the village. Hotel staff very knowledgeable of local area recommending several places to visit or eat.

Love being in Sonoma versus Napa for there is less hustle and bustle. Being a bit hot, we were happy to have such a nice pool and surrounding lounge chairs. Staff very personable! We enjoyed a good flat bread from room service. Did wish it was easier to get coffee in the morning, however.

We had a wonderful trip staying at this property. The cottage room we rented was very nice with a small patio to sit outside. There was space to sit outside the lodge and also places at the pool. All were well maintained and nicely appointed. One of the nicest things are the evening wine tasting, and the shuttle. They make this very convenient and pleasant. We would stay here again.

I really liked this hotel. The lobby was lovely - loved the decor - great front desk service. Our room was nice and spacious. Great pool area. I really loved the restaurant on the property - though we went to many 'chef driven' restaurants on this trip to Northern CA - this actually was one of my favorite meals the whole trip! Great location - highly recommended for a stay in Sonoma.

Great family vacation in the middle of wine country giving easy access to Sonoma, Napa, and the coast. Rooms were clean and nicely appointed. We all agreed that the beds were very amazingly comfortable. On site restaurant was excellent with a creative menu. Lodge staff were pleasant and helpful. Amenities were wonderful with a nice pool, beautiful courtyard, and bar. We would go back.

One night quick getaway. Very nice hotel with great customer service. The pool area is very comfortable for both families and couples. It is a bit away from the downtown walking area. The suttle service does make it convenient in spite of the hotel location.

We stayed here on points July 4th weekend. The location is good; not right in the town square but close enough to walk and they have a shuttle with courteous drivers. We stayed in a cottage room. Just spent a long weekend with my wife and a group of friends celebrating her birthday. The property is very nice and had a relaxing atmosphere. I paid for the stay with Marriott Points and upgraded to a Cottage. In retrospect I don't feel like the cottage upgrade (10,000 points per night, I believe) was worth it. The location was very good for what we wanted to do, which was be close to Napa and wineries in Sonoma, yet not in a loud area of town near the square. We are Marriott timeshare owners, so we travel to a lot of Marriott properties. This property is perfectly located to town, a mile or so away where there is great shops and plenty of restaurants. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a shuttle to take you to town, morning yoga, hikes, daily wine tasting and live music by the pool. Spa is very good too. The rooms need updating but still comfortable. Great vacation. I would recommend.

Stayed 2 nights, mid week, in the 2-story main building, Quiet, with easy access to all amenities/services the hotel has to offer. Lovely pool/courtyard. Went for our one year anniversary and stayed at the Lodge. We have stayed here many times and love the cottages, the quiet setting and the great location for many different activities and wineries. The hotel is getting old and needs to be updated. The rooms were clean but worn, the beds were comfortable and the pool was nice. Had an outside grill open over the weekend with good street tacos and many other items. We will go back but things need a new coat of paint.

We spent 4 days at The Lodge and it was a great stay. We were upgraded to a cottage and it was a very spacious, nicely appointed room with a fireplace--which due to the perfect weather, we never had occasion to use. We also had a patio. Stayed for 3 nights on a visit to Napa and Sonoma. Great location. We went for the Napa to Sonoma half marathon It was great . The hotel will take you to the square and pick you up after dinner so nice! Pool was awesome and rooms were very nice Thanks to all the staff for taking care of us!!!

We stayed there for 4 nights and since we came from the east coast it would have been great to have been able to keep our room dark after sunrise. The overall property is great and the cottage we stayed in was outstanding. Everyone was very helpful but when I asked about my 500 points a night for not having my rooms cleaned I did not get a good answer and still have not seen the points.

The Lodge at Sonoma is an excellent hotel. We only stayed one night, but the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful and the amenities were top notch. We did a wine tasting on property and were even able to take a bottle of wine to the pool where our kids had a great time. The rooms (we were in one of the cottages) are big and clean. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurant was fantastic. We will definitely be back.

We stayed here two nights while being on a west coast round trip. This was just the perfect break we needed. Marriott provides 100% relaxation. A bit expensive but you get full value for money. Includes free non-stop shuttle service to and from Sonoma centre. Perfect stay !

Recently did a long weekend with friends here while checking out the vineyards. It was clean, comfortable and attractive with very pleasant and helpful staff. Good central location to get to Napa and Sonoma vineyards, also close to the downtown Napa area.

What a wonderful place to stay! We stayed in one of the cottages. It was great, as was the wine tastings every night, the views all around, relaxing by the pool or dining there. They gave us a map of running trails around Sonoma which was perfect for us. would go back in a second! The staff were very helpful and friendly.

I stayed at the hotel on business trip. My room was located in one of the cottages and it was excellent and very comfortable. The food at the adjacent restaurant was also very good. Only one negative: Since I was headed back to the airport for a red eye after the business meeting (at 2pm), I asked for a late check out to be able change before my departure. Lodge features large rooms in a lovely landscaped setting. There is a large pool and live music each afternoon. Daily yoga and hikes are offered. Concierge is helpful. Rooms could be kept cleaner. Our room was not cleaned until late in the afternoon Each day.

This is a lovely property. It is a splurge, but you do get excellent service as well as lots of nice touches -- free wine tasting each evening, live jazz guitar, guided walks, etc. I did not try the spa, but the setting looks inviting. The pool area is very pleasant and there is plenty of seating under umbrellas. There is a shuttle to take you up the road to the cute town square and lots of great dining options. The cottages are pricey, but definitely the place to be.

My wife and I (and another couple) stayed here for three nights in Cottage rooms. This hotel is well-situated in Sonoma and is about a 20-25 minute walk from the square. There is a shuttle service that runs that will take you to/from the square (and some other points as well). The shuttle broke down during our stay, but the hotel was able to arrange for cabs instead (which made us late on night for our dinner reservation). We are platinum members and my fiancé brought me here for my 50th birthday celebration and to visit the vineyards. It was my first time to California. I loved this hotel as they have cottages to choose from versus just a regular hotel room. To be frank we booked in here when we couldn't get into the hotel of our choice in Sonoma, and weren't sure what to expect, but we were overall happy with the outcome. It was a bit on the expensive side for what you get, based on location. However, we found our (upgraded) room quite large and comfortable and quiet. We have stayed at this property two times now and both times have been great. We stayed in the cottages and found them to be be very spacious and comfortable. We took advantage of the amenities and services provided at this resort. We have done the guided hike, daily wine tastings in the lobby, and the shuttle service to the square. We will definitely stay here again.

My family and I stayed here. Fantastic pool very friendly staff and excellent clean rooms. There is a winetasting every night and guests are encouraged to participate and is a very festive atmosphere. Downtown Sonoma is only a short 10 to 15 minute walk away. Excellent location.

This was a really pretty resort, walking distance to Sonoma Square (1 mile). Check in was slow in Sunday afternoon and we had to wait for our room to be ready. However, the room and grounds are very nice, clean, and lots of options for food and drink. Service at the Bean and Bottle bar was fast and good. We just returned from a week at The Lodge. Yes, you read a lot or reviews about the tired looking cottages. Get over them! I have friends here is Sonoma and usually stay with them, but decided to change it up a bit and try this place- excellent decision. Yes it is expensive but everything is pricey in here. We booked two nights here & will not be back. Way over priced for an average property. Upon check-in, the clerk excitedly told us we had been given an extra large room - weren't we lucky?? Stayed at this resort for three nights and my wife and I loved it. The cottage was large and very comfortable. Nice pool. Spa looked nice too. Nice bar and coffee area. The staff was fantastic and really helped to enhance the visit. One note, it is a resort however it is low key in a good way. Don't expect a large and typical resort as that is not what this property is.

The hotel is very well positioned near downtown Sonoma but is a ways from the wineries in the northern section of the county. The drive there and back is scenic enough not to really matter. We stayed here to do the platypus wine tour. The hotel was comfortable. Our room with a balcony overlooked the patio and pool area with views and was large and airy with two twin queen beds. We were recently at The Lodge for 5 days with a small group and enjoyed the cottages and the grounds. The Lodge is close to the biking/walking path that leads to downtown, about 1.5 miles away. Although I didn't getup for the 8am yoga class, I enjoyed morning swims in the pool and the hot tub. The staff here were so friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a few blocks from "The Square" where most of the restaurants are located and cabs/uber are hard to find so plan for that. But there's a nice restaurant attached to the hotel and a GREAT spa. The rooms are nice, large, and modern. Heated pools and hot tubs in the courtyard are clean and inviting. Also there are apparently free wine tastings every night, so there's a nice bonus. We had a great time and will be returning.

It you get tired of Napa Valley scene. Sonoma would be a good neighborhood alternative to Napa. Room is quite good. Service is friendly. There are plenty of parking space. They also have a spa which I didn't try. Traffic is much more friendly. Weather is slightly cooler in the summer due to closer proximity to the ocean.

The Hotel is located a mile off the Sonoma square. That makes it a bit quieter and relaxing than being in the center of town. The hotel is nicely set up. There is a lovely pool and court yard that has plenty of places to sit and a nice hot tub. There is a daily yoga class, a hike and a wine tasting. The room was spacious, well appointed and the wifi was strong. The staff were helpful and accommodating at every turn. We would happily return on our next trip to Sonoma.

They have a shuttle that goes back and forth from Sonoma Square so it's like you're staying right there. However what I cannot get over is a room here costs 550$ - which is the same price as Claridges in London or Mandarin Oriental in Tokyo and compared to these hotels this was a Travellodge. This property does not match up to what I would call a resort. If you are going to charge a resort of $25 then you should get something for it. I am a premium status with Marriott. The lobby and bar were near nice but the rooms are a little dated.
