I attended a wedding here last weekend, so didn't have any expectations about the hotel or venue. Boy, was I pleasantly surpriised! All the rose bushes were in full bloom. The entire resort grounds were immaculate, as well as our guest room. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, being that I arrived early as I wasn't sure how long my drive from Monterey would take. They referred me to an on-site restaurant and had a memorable lunch. I wanted to find a hotel with a spa because I intended on getting the full spa experience. The parking was really good and free. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a very nice business lunch at their restaurant. While I can't say that it would an inexpensive option, it is in line with the area and for the nice atmosphere and selection. The wood fired oven as you walk in is enjoyable. I had hoped to lodge there, but you need reservations well in advance.

The location is nice and some rooms have views of the vineyards. The king suite was nicely sized and came with a fireplace which was a nice touch. Dowtown Sonoma is walking distance, they have a scenic trial hike in the morning and relaxing atmosphere in evening. The hotel bar and lobby are great for relaxing as well. And great amenities - on property restaurant, in hotel bar and cafe, a candy bar, free wine tasting, lots of free parking. The spa on property is also great, though they will be closing down the mani/pedi section in a few weeks :(. Best amenity is the free shuttle to the square. You can walk it in 10 minutes or less, but if it's 90 degrees outside, take the free shuttle. Just call the hotel whenever you want a ride. My fiancé and I stayed several days at this hotel in May 2016. We enjoyed the pool, restaurants on-site, location, modern rooms. We did not have a chance to use the bikes to explore the area - next time. Wish the restaurants were open later for dinner but that is our only (minor) complaint.

We pre-booked and paid for two nights at this property as part of our honeymoon through our UK travel agent and were looking forward to a relaxing stay. Whilst we loved Sonoma and the surrounding area I am afraid the hotel was a big let down for a variety of reasons. We drove out from San Fransisco and arrived at 3.40pm, 20 mins before the stated official check in time of 4pm. We were told that our room was not yet ready, which whilst unusual given there was only 20 minutes in it, wasn't the end... Read more

I booked my room with Visa debt card and noticed the room charges already debited but when I went check out there was no credit on the bill. I asked the clerk to double check and he confirmed no credit of the $941 for the room. So I was confused and used my MasterCard credit card to close the bill of $1255.00. We had a wonderful trip staying at this property. The cottage room we rented was very nice with a small patio to sit outside. There was space to sit outside the lodge and also places at the pool. I really liked this hotel. The lobby was lovely - loved the decor - great front desk service. Our room was nice and spacious. Great pool area. I really loved the restaurant on the property - though we went to many 'chef driven' restaurants on this trip to Northern CA - this actually was one of my favorite meals the whole trip! I booked 4 rooms using Marriott reward points from August 26-August 28 for my wife and three grown adult children and their spouses. After reading a few reviews, I was prepared for something less than my expectations considering using points for the stay and reading about the somewhat outdated rooms. While the rooms admittedly were older, they were nicely furnished, clean and very comfortable. My only complaint would be that the showers were small and tight, albeit I am 6'2" and 250 lbs so n... Stayed at this resort for three nights and my wife and I loved it. The cottage was large and very comfortable. Nice pool. Spa looked nice too. Nice bar and coffee area. The staff was fantastic and really helped to enhance the visit. One note, it is a resort however it is low key in a good way. Don't expect a large and typical resort as that is not what this property is.

We stayed at the cottages and had a great experience. I'm a platinum member and had a great experience. The hotel personnel were really nice, the spa is worth a stop, and the restaurant on site is great. We also used the shuttle almost every day to get down to the square. Not sure why so many of the reviews complain about the age of the rooms. While not brand new they are in great repair and very comfortable. Mixed reviews had me worried but I was pleasantly surprised. Lovely clean room with a fireplace and balcony overlooking the pool; beautiful lobby, pool, grounds; helpful friendly staff, nightly wine tastings, and free shuttle the short distance to sonoma plaza even though we also walked several times. Definitely a great place to stay to enjoy Sonoma and Napa.

The hotel is very well positioned near downtown Sonoma but is a ways from the wineries in the northern section of the county. The drive there and back is scenic enough not to really matter. Rooms were comfortable, each with a small outside seating area and the grounds were well manicured. The pool was not a draw for us, but we managed to use it a few times anyway as there was nice weather and comfortable seating areas surrounding the pool and hot tub. Let me start by saying the charge for this hotel for three nights was $2,137.39 For that, I expected a decent hotel. Not so much. To start with, I am a Marriott lifetime platinum member... so clearly I travel a lot. Given that, the bed in this room was the worst I have ever felt. Might as well sleep on a slab of concrete. My wife and I were in agony after the first night. We scrambled to find a new hotel, even if we had to leave our remaining $1,400 pre-payment) but everything was booked ... Read more

I was a bit worried about staying here based upon other reviews. I am lifetime Platinum and had things to do nearby so I decided to stick with this hotel and am glad I did. I stayed in 3C and had none of the issues of an outdated hotel many mentioned and believe me, I looked. The only thing I can think of is some rooms are better than others. Really lovely property, but be careful where you stay. I think the best option is to stay in the main hotel. We stayed in an outlying building with a view of a parking lot. Not the greatest option. My husband and I recently stayed at the Lodge over a friend's wedding weekend. My husband was in the wedding and we opted to not AirBnB it with some of our other friends since we like a good hotel stay. Although I'm still very happy with that decision, there's a little room for improvement here. The lobby, pool, restaurant and other common areas are VERY lovely and chic.
