Friendly staff, the front desk welcomed me with a great attitude with a genuine smile. Though, check in is at 4pm my room was already available around 2pm as I've requested for an early check in, if available. As a diamond member, I was very pleased with the service. Diana, the front desk staff was absolutely great. Can't thank her enough for all of her help with all the recommendation of places to go where to eat etc.. She's a gem! She went above and beyond. Very nice hotel. Huge lobby and bar combination. Rooms were very nice. Spacious and clean. Hotel was a little on the older side. It was a Monday night when we stayed so the bar closed at 9:00pm. Another negative was this hotel charged a mandatory $15 over night parking fee. Stayed in 3 different hotels on the same trip and this was the only one with this fee. They also had an over-priced breakfast buffet for $15.

This hotel is close to freeway access in a nice location. One of the best Embassy Suites I've visited and it's one of my favorite chains so I've visited quite a few. Very courteous staff, clean, great food and evening reception, the two main reasons I select this chain, along with spacious suites. Great location.

When we checked in on Saturday evening, the hotel was 100% full and upon entering our room, we noticed a funky, somewhat sharp stale odor. There were no other rooms to switch to especially since we had already secured a lovely bay view. The next morning, we mentioned our concerns to the front desk who were happy to please us in any way possible, including refreshing the room or moving us to a different room. We have been moving from hotel to hotel all week and didn't relish the idea of packin... Read more

We came to this hotel for a conference. We started at 7:00 AM to no coffee or snacks. We were told by the staff, they just finished serving breakfast so we didn't need coffee. Who are they to tell us that. I was on the 10th floor and it took a VERY long time to get hot water. Once started the water did stay warm, but we are in a drought, I should have to wait that long. The night bartender was very rude because we ordered a last drink 10 minutes before close. The wifi signal in the confer... Read more

During this last stay in Cali, we ended up staying at 9 hotels and met a lot of people working at these places. Some places the workers were just going thru the motions. From the moment we checked in to this particular hotel we were greeted with smiles and great service. The location is awesome and the building itself is well kept. Looking forward to returning soon.

We stayed while visiting family in the area. From the minute we walked in, the service was excellent and stayed at that level for the entire five days were were there. Everyone was welcoming, engaging, and focused on making your stay memorable. Having said that, the decor was very worn and dated. The made to order breakfast wasn't memorable and the manager's reception pretty basic...we will return to the hotel for our next visit and hope the hotel will have been updated.

This Embassy Suites is simply one of the best hotels - maybe THE best- we've ever stayed at. Where to begin? From the moment we arrived (even beforehand, actually) it seemed their whole goal was to make our family getaway delightful: ‚?ĘPrior to arriving, the rate dropped for our itinerary and they matched the lower rate, saving us almost $100. ‚?ĘAt check-in they gave us a bunch of goodies and bonuses (snacks and beverages, upgraded room with ocean view, better internet, etc.). ‚?ĘMy wife ment... The check-in process was inefficient, only one person was doing check-in and resolving guest issues at the front desk. I had to wait 15-20 minutes. The lobby was overcrowded and there were not many places to sit while we waited. Did not receive any greetings or recognition as Diamond member of Hilton at the from desk. The linens in the room were creased and stained. I regret my decision to stay in this hotel with my family.

As a loyal Hilton Honors Gold member, I expect a certain level of service, as well as an expectation of quality from the Hilton brand. I have never had a worse experience at an Embassy Suites before; in fact, this was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The rooms are very spacious and well maintained. Easy access off of the freeway and not too far from downtown Monterey. The free breakfast and happy hour were excellent. They seem to have a regular issue with one of the elevators, but they make every effort to correct the problem and accommodate the guests.

We typically enjoy Embassy but this particular hotel has a problem with theft. While there is a sign that states the hotel is not responsible for lost or stolen items, they do not tell you that your children cannot even lay their glasses on the table while swimming without the locals who come to use the pool swiping the pink sparkly framed children's prescription glasses. Enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and attentive, room was clean, and complimentary breakfast was a hit with our kids. We were delighted that all of us could stay in one room, as our children are still young. Minor complaints are that we had trouble with accessing the wifi (though we didn't bother with calling about troubleshooting,) the decor is a bit outdated, and they do not have suites with two queen or two king sized beds. Double beds barely worked for us.

Booked a king bayview suite for 1 night July 7th. Rooms are in need of updated decor (they still had the gold 70s style drapes) and were very small compared with other ES properties. This was a great home base for us as we explored Monterey and CA1 sights. It is hard to beat the huge 3 hr breakfast for all registered guests. The place was clearly full but they managed to serve all with only a 20 min wait if you wanted a made-to-order omelet. There was plenty of seating. We were on the 12th floor and had an ocean/bay view in room 1216. 1 of 3 elevators was out and this resulted in some waiting which wasn't ideal. The pool was fun but crowded. This hotel does not have enough elevators for the level of traffic going up and down in the morning. Plan to wait awhile and get close with your fellow riders. Also the spa doesn't work - no bubbles! The breakfast line for cooked to order is very long and the cooks are slow; its a nice amenity, but you have to work for it by standing in line for half an hour. The suite also included a kitchenette area. The hotel offered free drinks and snacks from 5:30 to 7:30. The hotel is near decent restaurants like Chili's and includes it's own as well. Our stay ended with a scrumptious breakfast buffet of delectable foods.

The Embassy Suites is a very luxurious hotel. The rooms are more like a small apartment than a hotel room. Our room had a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and sink! Almost like a mini-bar in the "living room." The bathroom was tub/shower combo. The bedroom was quite large too.

They also have one shop where you can get coffee or but other things that was closed the majority of the time and the staf... Read more

I took my mom and kids on a mini vacation, to Monterey. We stayed at the Embassy Suites. We really loved the view of the water from our suite and how nice and clean our room was. The whole experience was great. The Embassy Suites is a perfect place to stay if you are planning to visit Cannery Row and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Very close by in driving distance.

We enjoyed this hotel. for my cousins from France, it was luxury. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and complimentary evening reception. Well done! This hotel is perfectly situated for Monterey bay, close enough to walk/cycle to the main town but peaceful with beautiful sea views from the front rooms. We happened to be staying on a Saturday night and it was buzzing with lots of family groups enjoying the half term break. Complimentary evening cocktails were a complete bonus for us, complete with a good selection of tidbits. Our room was large with a ktichen and lounge area, sea view and 2 huge televisions. Breakfast was a fine selection ... Read more

Not super luxurious, but just fancy enough and has become one of our favorite hotel chains Great amenities without a lot of fanfare. We like if for the suites aspect. One of us is an early riser and the other is not. Having a separate bedroom allows one to rise early, go out and have coffee and watch tv. Coffee in the room or there is a barista/ Starbucks in the gift shop. A free breakfast bar in the lobby with a great selection including made to order omelets and Douwe Egberts coffee, Fantastic... This property is not up to Embassy Suites standards. The elevators don't work, the guests in the atrium are loud and the reverberation makes it all the way up to the 11th floor, and the rooms are old and dated. I do stay at a number of Embassy Suites throughout the year and this one is the most disappointing that I have visited in quite a while. If you are a Hilton Honors member, do yourself a favor at stay at the Hampton Inn.

I booked a block of rooms for approximately 16 guys for a 2 night golf getaway. I dealt with Estela in group sales and she took excellent care of all my needs. We have stayed here in the past and enjoy the location to all of the Monterey area's golf courses, restaurants and shopping. Of course the complimentary Breakfast, which includes made to order omelettes is first class. The evening cocktails are also a big hit with the guys after a round of golf. Stayed here for a weekend end of October. Decent hotel. Room was clean and stocked. Furnishings were a bit dated, but I believe they are going through some remodeling so hopefully replacing furniture is included. Buffet breakfast was ok, coffee could be better. The cocktail hour was nice. The guys behind the bar make a good mojito. Staff was great. Super friendly at the check-in area. We used the pool once but found it to be a bit crowded and the chlorine was super strong. Great loca... Read more

We recently stayed at this hotel for two nights on a family vacation. I love Embassy's because of their service, quality, and room size, so wanted to give this one a try. It's a nice hotel, located about 2 blocks from the beach (that's not too busy with foot traffic, which is nice). Pros: - Great service - Large suites - Great breakfast each morning - Good happy hour each evening - Cheaper overnight parking for Monterey ($10/night) - Close to beaches (walking distance), and not smack... Decor definitely needs updating, but the rooms are large and clean. The hot breakfast was excellent, and the employees working the breakfast were friendly and helpful. In fact, every employee that I encountered was friendly and helpful. Smoke alarm went off at 2:45am, front desk sent someone up right away when I called. Close proximity to Cannery Row, aquarium, and Dennis the Menace playground. Great place for a family, we will definitely come back.

We opted for a room with Ocean View on the Preferred floor. Firstly the view was great but with no sight of sunrise or sunset. Secondly you get to see the lake, freeway, adjacent strip mall before you can see the ocean. And a lot of traffic noise from the balcony.. Was wondering if it was worth the amount I paid. Preferred floor, no restricted access. Elevated stops at almost every floor before you reach the 11th floor. Moreover, if you are not up to the breakfast in your room, then you can get... Read more

I would highly advise, if you are going to stay in Monterey California, that you stay at Embassy Suites by Hilton. Clean, beautiful, nice suites, great beds, free hugh breakfast and free happy hour daily. Great food! The staff is very friendly and make you feel right at home. Oh how I wish all hotels were like this.

A little street noise backing a busy highway set back from the ocean about 1/2 Mile of so. Great value when you figure in Full cook to order breakfast and Happy hour open bar for 2 hours . Indoor pool open later than normal 11PM 12 On Weekends . Waterfall background noise was amazing as well. Free Parking and close to Downtown vibe in Monterey.

I'm still sad and disgusted since our stay in August, so here's my overdue review. We always stay at Hilton properties and have always had excellent service and nice hotels. However, we had a terrible experience as we looked at our email receipt as we drove away and saw we had been charged almost $900 for two nights! This is the second Embassy Suites we have stayed in. We have come to find that they are a bit dated and worn. Our room was clean and the view was nice but the noise from the streets down below was surprising loud. This was especially disturbing since we paid extra for an ocean view room. The happy hour is always nice and but the breakfast, while a lot of selection, was a bit on the cold side and this was during the busy time. Overall I would say it was fine but not worth paying extra for.

Been going here for more years than I care to share. This trip (11/16) was not so good. Location is great, and it's good for kids. BUT...for two days we had no water between 11am-4pm. One of the 3 elevators was down, making for long wait times. A contract worker noted it had been down for months. The single, poor omelet cook at breakfast worked hard but could not keep up.
