Stayed two nights at Hotel La Rose while touring the Sonoma Wineries. The hotel is a nice hotel within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The early morning staff was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast served its purpose of a quick bite before sightseeing.

Hello! I came to the Hotel La Rose last June; I was on a trip in California with my mum (I'm in my 40's, from Europe, and this trip was an incredible gift!). This hotel was one of the best ones where we stayed!! Excellent mattress and the staff very friendly! But I also very much liked all the second-hand/ antique shops which are literally next door. I really recommend this hotel!!

A good location in Santa Rosa and a pleasant warm welcome and stay in the hotel. We like very much the "old hotels" that have been well preserved and offer a touch of class as opposed to the shiny big modern hotels. Nice way to have a comfortable stay and enjoy the Schultz Museum which is close by and merits a few hours of looking into the man and his legacy. Also some very good restaurants both near the hotel and in the town.

We stayed here for a night and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is a 100 year old fixture in the Railroad District of downtown Santa Rosa. It is pretty well maintained, very clean and conveniently located to be able to walk to many restaurants and coffee shops in the area. The rooms are nothing fancy, but are well appointed and fairly spacious. The one area in which the hotel falls short is their breakfast, which is included with the price of the room. Other than the fresh fruit, their of... Read more

Our room was lovely, comfortable, and quiet. Very nice bathroom. The hotel is over 100 years old having built after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake but it is totally up to date--elevator, etc. Very wonderful selection at breakfast. Desk staff was very nice. Parking is kitty-corner in extremely well lighted lot. We went to Santa Rosa to visit friends. They are lucky to live there. Nice place.

We had a comfortable room with quaint , but workable fixtures. The location was quiet, but close to shopping, restaurants and other activities. We were on the second floor, but there was no noise above or below us and a good night's sleep was easy. Although near city center, there is free parking and with 3:PM check-in, there is time to walk about locally and shop, worry-free of parking meters, and parking area is well lit at night. There is continental breakfast, and don't forget to check on mid... The hotel was lovely. It had great character and the staff was very nice and helpful. We had a junior sweet with a balcony which was large and comfortable. It was quiet and we had a good night sleep. We stayed two nights and wish we had stayed four.

We've stayed here a few times before - and enjoyed the funkiness of this quaint hotel in the Santa Rosa. This go round - not so much. The shower hot water was intermittent, the sheets not so fresh, and the buttons on the house phone were not working. And there were only two towels. It just felt as though no one had taken the time to make sure that the room was ready for people! Otherwise - it's a great little charming place. They just need to brush off the cob webs and remember that they are ru... Read more

I hoped to write a better review of this historical place, but can't for the reasons outlined below. First the good stuff: the location is great. In Railroad Square with Aroma Roasters coffee shop across the street (serves sandwiches, salads, etc in addition to coffee), restaurants and shops nearby, and a short walk to the indoor mall. Lots of homeless folks in this small town, and several hung out across from the hotel, but I was never bothered by any of them. The small lobby was nicely decorat... Read more
