I was in Sonoma on business and then got to do some wine tasting after that was done. The hotel is located in the central railroad sq part of the city. It is an historic area related to the founding of this city. The are several wine tasting rooms as well as 5 or 6 nice restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Additionally the hotel is near the junction of the 12 and 101 freeways so it is central to the many different wine regions located throughout Sonoma county. The rooms are nice and well app... We had a nice sized room with 2 double beds. They were clean and comfortable. No kids for the coffee cups. No free breakfast, but free Wi-Fi. Lots of parking and an easy walk to the mall and some trendy shops and restaurants within 5 minutes.

The rooms were nicely appointed, large and clean. Lobby area small, but inviting. The food area was a bit odd to me ... No table service, no bar, just go to a register to order like a fast food chain. Food wasn't very good (what I had seemed reheated and not flavorful), but coffee selection (although pricey) was good. I don't typically stay at Courtyards, so maybe this is the norm in this Marriott class of properties. Location to downtown was nice, but I always got back there after everything cl... Read more

My stay there was great! My room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very nice. However, what really made my experience exceptional was that I forgot one of my very expensive belongings in the dresser drawer and before I had the chance to even realize that I had forgotten it I received a phone call from them. They could have stolen it but they were honest and returned my item to me. People always worry about the maids stealing things from their rooms when they are cleaning and this insta... Read more

The rooms are modern and the bed is very comfortable with lots of pillows. The location is a great downtown location right on the bike path so you can do many fantastic rides. The bistro for coffee, wine, breakfast and snacks was a wonderful place to hang out and meet friends.

I love Marriott hotels. Location of hotel was steps away from the historic railroad district in downtown Santa Rosa. Lobby was beautiful, very colorful and vibrant. Room we got with a superior King bed was spacious and very clean. I like hotels that give you freebie toiletries. There was a fridge in the room so I could cool my water bottles. I need to quench my thirst with cold bottled water don't really like getting ice from the ice maker. There was a blow dryer, iron and ironing board, ample c... Read more

Great value in Santa Rosa during a holiday weekend! Convenient location. Russian River Brewing is walkable, which is great! Pool and outdoor firepit are a nice addition. Wine tasting in process when we arrived. Starbucks in the lobby. What more do you need?

The hotel is in a very convenient location in Santa Rosa within walking distance to a lot of nice restaurants. We had an issue with our bill after having to move rooms but a very helpful assistant manager, by the name of Janet, got things sorted out.

Nice, clean hotel with helpful staff. The hotel is within walking distance to restaurants and shopping in downtown. There is also a mall within walking distance. It is a good base to explore the local wineries or just relax. The staff was attentive, helpful and quick. There is a railroad and train being tested when I was there as well as the remains of an old station. Low speed internet was free, but higher speed was for a fee.

Good place for business (I stay there 2-3 times p/m for the last 2 years). It would be interesting to see some changes to their menu at the Bistro bar after all these years :) Hotel is just yards of 101 which helps to commute to San Fran or Sonoma wineries. Very friendly staff. Great loacation with walking distance to Santa Rosa 4th Str full of bars and restaurants.

The location is perfect. It's within walking distance of the older part of Santa Rosa. The one drawback that I had was I asked for a quiet room and was put on the railroad side which ended up to be the noisiest side of the hotel. The windows aren't sealed properly thus making the noise from the pool and the back of the hotel prevalent. It's fairly priced, but if you have an alternative, consider it.

This hotel is up-to-date, clean, well-furnished, and comfortable. It provides a convenient, reliable place to stay while visiting the area for business or pleasure. Staff at front desk were friendly and efficient and everything was as expected. Note: Breakfast is available in the hotel but is not included in the room rate unless previously arranged.

From the moment I got there after 1:00am, the staff were super to be around. They were ready for my late arrival and my room was great. Very comfortable bed and the room itself was modern and high class. The fitness center was better than average and the location to downtown and the freeway couldn't be better. Price was a bit high due to so many activities at once I'm the area. I will stay again.

We spent a week in this Courtyard while attending a conference. The staff were always helpful and welcoming. The amenities were all we needed and we wanted for nothing. Our room on the top floor (as requested) was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed was a restful sanctuary at the end of each day usually after 10 at night. While we ate most of our meals at the conference, the Courtyard breakfast was tasty and the staff ensured the scrambled eggs didn't get overcooked on the buffet line. Supe... Read more

I have been meaning to write a review of this hotel for months. We walked in and reserved a room-same day. I wish I could remember the managers name, she was amazing! We had some issues with our refrigerator. It made a horrible humming noise all night. My husband mentioned it in the morning because he didn't get any sleep and had to drive all day. He didn't expect anything, except to get it fixed for the next guest. The manager was so apologetic and and friendly and pro rated our room accordingl... Read more

We stayed here for the recent Napa to Sonoma half marathon, along with many other runners. A good location for Sonoma, maybe a bit far if you're interested in Napa. But great location for Russian River and Santa Rosa wine tasting and eating. Nice staff, nice property. Rooms clean, and well maintained.

Was traveling with my husband, mother-in-law and 2.5 yr old. I had booked two double beds through a third party site but we get to our room and find a king bed and a small rollout couch so talk to them and was told room type isn't guaranteed. Since when? Unless you want something other than what you've booked maybe... They were sold out so we had no other option but to squeeze into the room. Barely got any sleep. I do enjoy the Courtyard by Marriott as my landing pad in Santa Rosa. I try to take advantage of the gym, the pool and hot tub, and the offerings in the Bistro when I stay. The staff is always so nice, professional, and friendly. All make for a stress-free, wonderful experience while away from home.

Warning the bathroom is extremely small, barely room to turn around. So are he beds. I requested double beds as there are three of us this too a tight fit but would-be fine for two. Starbucks in lobby if you want to purchase breakfast.

I found the front desk, people working at the Bistro, and just about everyone I came into contact with at this hotel to be very friendly and engaging. The hotel is close to many restaurants, stores, mall, and easy access to RT 101. I enjoyed the outdoor pool, although the whirlpool seemed to have only one good jet....the fire-pit was also a nice touch. My only sleep was interrupted on multiple occasions (four night stay) due to the loud elevator. I also found that the the creek wa... Read more

The hotel's been renovated, and recently, in a very decent style. Sadly, it just looks like they ran out of money before redoing the ceiling or the light switches. Infernally loud fridge. Single pane windows were very loud, especially on the highway side. I think I marginally prefer the Hampton Inn in Windsor. Stay in Healdsburg (if you can find a room) and save yourself the trouble.

Visited the hotel in August with a group of friends for a long weekend of wine tasting. Conveniently located off the 101 and a short walk to a number of food options for both breakfast and dinner. Friendly staff and I found the hotel to be quiet despite the fact that my room was facing train tracks. There is a fire pit in the back that was perfect for a night cap following a long day. Wifi worked well and great water pressure.

A nice hotel with a welcoming, friendly, and professional staff. Lots of complimentary parking and other quality amenities. We enjoy the Marriott Rewards Program and were able to book this Courtyard when our travel plans changed due to fire and smoke in the forests of Southeastern Oregon. We were very happy with our room, which was large and attractive. We had to laugh over the extremely small vanity counter, however, with the oversized sink set atop it. I was thoroughly impressed with my stay in Santa Rosa, and look forward to a return visit, maybe during the fall grape crush. Other than being next to the railroad tracks, the Courtyard has a very convenient location downtown and near lots of great dining. Just be sure to request a room away from the train tracks.

We had what at first appeared to be a nice larger suite type room (which we paid more for) at the end of the hall. However, once in the room for a while we discovered many shortcomings, primarily the noise that came from the very busy street and railroad. The room had a balcony and sliding glass door that had zero insulation against the noise from the highway and railroad. Having a baby with us, this was a major issue as she woke frequently due to loud sirens and passing trains. When I spoke to ... Read more

We stayed at this hotel after our visit to several wine estates in Sonoma. The rooms looked larger than standard such hotels, very clean and comfortable. We were sharing a pleasant time with family in the restaurant, where we were allowed to consume our own wine we had acquired in one of the vineyards we visited earlier that day and accompanied with some of the tasty snacks prepared in the restaurant.

This is what you expect from a Marriott. Rooms are relatively new and updated, and very clean. Thy have a very small fitness facility, indoor hot tub and nice outdoor pool. I did not eat at the restaurant on site, but they serve good coffee in the morning. There are plenty of great restaurants in walking distance.

Stayed 5 nights, kingbed on the 4th floor. Room was pretty large, with a sleeper sofa, ottoman, refrigerator. Very comfortable, clean and quiet on the 4th floor. Nice area close the the railroad square and Mall. Unfortunately most of the square closes early so there's not much to do close by after dinner. Bistro was ok, better food within walking distance to the square. Was very happy with the central location, one day went north through healdsburg, one day south to sonoma, also out to... Read more

We visited Santa Rosa to do some wine tasting with our family. We are longtime Marriott Rewards members and chose this Courtyard which they categorize as 7 star and requires the highest number of points in their system. I want to say upfront that the staff was very helpful throughout our stay. Our adult daughter was going to join us so we needed a room with an extra bed. Property has the typical updated Courtyard lobby which is open and inviting. Rooms are nice and updated ( I think 2015 ). Was recognized as Plat Elite at check in, however zero upgrade based on 100% occupancy. Did not receive preferred room type, or additional pillows and blankets as indicated in my Marriott profile (used the app on line check in). I was in Santa Rosa one day/night for a wedding, and booked the Courtyard under their wedding rate (which was higher than their normal day rate, it appears). For my needs, the hotel was fine -- the room was decent sized and clean, the staff was friendly, and the hotel was centrally located for Santa Rosa. Is this a five-star hotel that you would want to stay at for your honeymoon? Probably not. But it was good for a random night in Santa Rosa, and would probably be the same if in town for busin... We started our wine country vacation and stayed here for the Sonoma Valley portion. We have stayed at many facilities in the Sonoma Vaqlley, but this one exceeded our expectations. We met a great staff, clean rooms and nice location to the Railroad district where food and shops are located. We have stayed across the street at the Hyatt, but found this Courtyard nicer, even though it is a little old. You will hear train horns/bells, but is it not bad and not during the night.

Location is fantastic, right at the heart of Santa Rosa Railroad District. The property itself was remodeled/refurbished. The lobby was contemporary and modern. Room was reasonably roomy and comfortable. However, given the opportunity to remodel, there are places that seems to be lack of or forgotten. The walk-in shower was nice, brand new handle and drain, but why kept the old-fashion shower head? The ones exactly like the motel 10 years ago. The A/C unit was loud, although function prope...
