"Loved the location and the price of the room. Staff were nice and the house cleaners did a great job. we stayed for 3 nights. MY problems with this place is that the parking wasnt a guaranteed spot. I think for 20 a day that the hotel should have their own spots. The second issue is that they never mention that from 10 pm to 2 am there is a club next door pounding club/rave music all night. Not what i wanted to come back to after walking all day and trying to sleep. If you have little ones not the place for you. Overall i was pleased but the music sucked!!"

"Nice hotel. Fantastic location. Rooms were nice, clean. Could use a remodeling but again you are not there to stay in your room. 2 blocks from the Santa Monica pier with rides, the beach and food. Two blocks the other way and you are at the Third Street Promenade with many shops and numerous food choices. Nice staff, friendly and helpful. Rooms were good, comfortable but again you are not there to stay in the hotel. Way too many activities within walking distance.
Great hotel, great location. Overall very good."

"I loved the location of Ocean View Hotel, close to all the fun stuff i.e. beach, pier, shopping.
I am sorry to say that the front desk girl was not helpful at all and was actually rude. She seemed annoyed by my questions. Other than the unhappy staff, we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful weather!"

"I'd read some pretty alarming comments about this place on other sites but it really wasn't as bad as they made it sound. You can't beat the location, making the room rate very affordable; it's two blocks from the pier, two blocks from the promenade and surrounded by a variety of restaurants. Have we stayed in nicer places, yes. Have we stayed in worse places, definitely! Free WiFi access is a bonus. The beds are comfortable, as they claim. Could it use a remodel, probably, but how long are you even in the room? The walls didn't seem too thin as I'd read on other sites, such that it was a nuisance or disturbance. We were really very satisfied with our selection of the hotel, the stay, the location. The staff were fine, not stellar. We would have liked to have checked in earlier but they kept our bags while we roamed around and it was fine. I did like the security option that you can't get up to the floors without a room key."
