We stayed at this hotel for three nights and it was pleasant enough. The room was a nice size but noisy. You could hear street traffic as well as room to room noise. The staff was friendly and the hotel was overall clean. The plugs in the room were not all working and difficult to use when we were recharging our phones at night. Parking.is expensive $32 per night.

Hotel is relatively close to beach, bit of an uphill bike ride from beach. Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. Would caution Valet people to be respectful of your car, they were noted to be racing them in garage.

Doubletree Hilton is ideally located for an easy stopover in LA with a young family. The rooms are a generous size. Decent beds. Room service selection is good. Microwaves in every room Ô?? perfect for families. There's a heated pool. It's quiet too. Santa Monica has plenty to occupy a young family. The beach and playgrounds are great. The Pier is fun. Lots of shops. Safe feel to it too. Only 30-40 mins from LAX.

Nice size room, with in-room safe - a feature not found in many American hotels. Friendly staff. Especially Eddie, the concierge, who had lots of information, was most forthcoming with help, and put me in the hotel's shuttle to LAX when my reserved taxi didn't show up. Decent, affordable location for the wedding held in Malibu. But restaurant wait staff were sometimes great and on the ball, sometimes completely missing in action. My bf and I loved this hotel, from amazing friendly service to the spacious rooms and beautiful bathroom! Mins away from the Promenade, beach, and the pier it's the perfect location. No complaints whats so ever. Front desk gave us water and cookies. And when our iron seemed not to work, another one was delivered in what seemed like lightening speed with more free cookies and water. Our room had a full living room, the entire thing was bigger than our apartment in NYC lol. The area is amazing, we... Read more

A free upgrade and warm cookies on check in were a fantastic way to start our stay here. The family suite was so spacious and the separate living room was a great addition. The hotel was close to the beach, pacific pier and third street promenade (once we figured out the short cut). The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I wish we stayed more than 1 night!

Hotel could use some upgrades but overall was satisfactory. Our room was clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. "Valet parking only" with $32+/daily rate. FYI parking facility across the street was convenient with overnight parking but rates going up July 2016 to $14/weekday and $5/weekend day. Still cheaper though than valet. 4 block walk to beach and promenade. Recommend hotel unless want to feel like your actually at the beach.

Price seemed high even for this area, the hotel has no views of anything, and it's several blocks from the beach. Don't use valet as you can park directly across the street for only $5 dollars. Room was clean and quiet though.

We visited for 2 nights on a Southern California trip in order to enjoy Santa Monica and a brief beach visit while going to Universal Studios and then on to Anaheim for Disney. We are a family of 3 with a 13 year old son. We did NOT like what we experienced for Santa Monica overall. This hotel, for us, was not well located. It was either a walk over a huge bridge over the interstate to get to 3rd St Promenade area or straight toward the beach through most times many homeless people. The homeless... Read more

Just returned home to Australia after spending a month in the US, staying at 5 hotels during our time there. This one is by far my favourite. Staff were extremely friendly, loved the cookie and spades and buckets given to the kids on check in. We had a one bedroom King suite which was very spacious and clean. Spent a week in Santa Monica using the DoubleTree Suites in Santa Monica as our home base. We stayed in a suite with a (distant) view of the ocean, and we were very pleased. Prior to traveling, I had read some negative reviews here on TripAdvisor, but we had no such bad experiences. The room was very nice. Hotel is about a 5 minute walk to Santa Monica blvd and Third Street Promenade. Too far to walk to the beach so there is a free shuttle offered by the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful with directors and recommendations. Overall the hotel is tired and needs an update. The rooms were clean and the pool is small. I believe parking was $25 a night, valet. Valet service was fast.

Spent a day in DoubleTree Suites in Santa Monica and I wish it was more... We got there 'cause we won another night by our Flying Company at the end of our month. And it was the best choice. Easy booking and reception check in, really nice accomodation, great breakfast, easy and fast check out... Easy walk to the 3rd street shopping... But free wifi only at the principal hall :(

Our entire experience was great, but the courteous, kind and helpful staff bears special mention. From the valet to the front desk to the restaurant, they made us feel like nothing would make them happier than seeing us happy. In general, the location is exceptional, but the traffic in downtown Santa Monica was brutal, especially on the weekend. This is the only reason I"m giving the location a "very good" rating.

I booked my room via a central call center. I had traveled all day and worked upon my arrival. The room assigned was not in a quiet area. We stayed in this hotel to kick off a Californian road trip. The hotel is of a good standard. The room as it is a suite is a good size and all the amenities were of good quality. We had the buffet breakfast one morning and whilst it was not cheap ($22 each) it was very enjoyable. The only downside about this hotel is the lack of Wi-Fi. Only a 15 minute walk to Santa Monica pier and Muscle Beach.

A desk was also there with plenty of outlets for charging electronics. It was quite noisy in the room, from traffic on the street below and nearby highway. A different room on the other end of the building might have been quieter. Also, don't try to check in before 3pm; takes a while for the rooms to be ready. R... Read more

Very disappointed with the staff and room location. Noisy, next to gym and right outside the pool. Emergency evacuation in the middle of the night and it was a disaster. Room services dishes left in hall for 24 hours. Overall service not good!

Wonderful staff at front desk who allowed very early check in and gave cookies for my kids. Room was spacious. Less than 10 mins walk to shopping or beach area. We would love to stay there again when we visit Santa Monica.

We stayed from November 4th to November 8th. Only complaint would be wifi but I'm stretching. From the moment we arrived the experience was good. Valet parking , front desk , nice man that brought our bags up to our room. Can't complain about price. Prime location in LA. Ate 2 meals at restaurant and both good. I would definitely return. Interior was quiet. Could not hear other people when I was in room. Stayed in room 809.

This was the last of the hotels we stayed in on our East coast tour. The front desk staff helpful and quickly changed our room when we requested a switch. We had a suite, which fine, clean and well maintained, but rather dated! The pool area was also a little dated, pool was ok, hot tub - very hot! Hotel was short walk to shops/ pier and range of restaurants! Whilst hotel was fine, I wish we had spent a little more and chosen something more modern on the front.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Restaurant was good. Our room was nice but dark. The bedroom had windows but the living area faced the interior of the hotel and the lighting was a little dim. Our living area had a bit of a funky smell but we got over it. They have a convenient little shuttle to take you to the shopping area. The queen double suite was roomy enough for 2 and we had a couple meetings of 5 in the living area. The pool looked nice and the workout room was very clean.

This hotel has great service and the location is fabulous. It is easy to get in and out of and everyone was incredibly nice! The bell boys gave great recommendations for dinner. The valet parking was convenient and we never waited long for our car. Their directions and timing were spot on. Used the bar and the Starbucks with very helpful people and always with smile on their face. I was able to check in very early which was HELPFUL too!

I travel a lot and this is my very first review. The Doubletree Santa Monica has great rooms, super nice pool, the best staff and a great location - near Hotel California, the pier, awesome beach and waves, and miles of beach front boardwalk to bike, run, walk and roller blade. I left a non-descript ut essential dental item in my room, and Alicia Huerta took personal responsibility for making sure it got to me after it was shipped to another hotel and THEY LOST IT. Thank you Alicia for the at... Read more

The hotel is in a convenient location. We had initially reserved two rooms but cancelled one several months ago. Our remaining reservation was for a room with a king sized bed. When the two of us arrived they said there was a problem with the room type reserved so they had "upgraded" us to a room with two beds. It wasn't really an upgrade but we were trying to be accommodating and we don't really care because we only use one bed. Everything was fine until we received the bill for our stay ... Read more

Excellent staff, really caring and helpful. Good accommodation for the price, clean and comfortable and bonus to have a suite - great location, nice atrium when you walk in with bar/meeting area. We had a partial ocean view which really was worth it, and being on the top floor it was quiet.

Perfect location to experience Santa Monica. Stayed for 2 nights in 2 separate 1br Suites. We had a family of 8. Rooms were nice. Very welcoming staff. Everyone was very helpful at the front desk and restaurant. Tips: There's an electric car up front that can give you free rides in the area. Short walk to Third Street Promenade, mall, lots of restaurants, the pier, etc. also visited Venice beach and Venice canals. Highly recommend this location for business or pleasure travel.

The hotel was beautiful and was exactly like the pictures on the website. The hotel staff was professional and personable. My children enjoyed the cookies given at check-in. The room was clean and nice quality of beds and furniture. The hotel lobby was pretty and the location was perfect. We could walk to the beach.

The DoubleTree Suites Santa Monica provided a most comfortable and pleasant 4 night stay. The hotel/room (#733) is very clean and airy. This king bed suite is a good size and well equipped with two TVs, microwave, fridge, sink, ironing board and safe. A small sliding door balcony provides good ventilation. The entire staff- front desk, restaurant, maid, parking- went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. The breakfast dining room is very nice and host Ramon especially considerate. Food... We travelled as a family of 5, husband, wife, 2 young adult children and 1 teenager, and found this hotel to suit our needs perfectly. We had a suite that contained 2 rooms, 1 contained 2 double/queen beds and the large lounge area contained an adult friendly, very comfortable double pull out sofa. There was a small refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker in the lounge area also and plenty of room for suitcases. Our room, and as was the entire hotel, clean, modern and quiet. James the Porter was very helpful and handle our bags to our rooms. He gave us some great tips about walking down to Santa Monica Pier. The rooms were spacious, 2 queens and the separate room was big to hang out in also. Very clean. All the amenities. I've stayed in better Doubletrees. Check in process was slow,we waited about 15 minutes. The valet is mandatory and was expensive (over 35 dollars a day). There was a lot of unexpected construction going on.
