They charged us an additional $30, and said that we stole their blankets and pillows, which we did not. We live 1.5 hours away and just wanted to get away for the weekend. Why would we drive to Santa Cruz to steal some used blankets? Seriously, UNBELIEVABLE! We asked them and they say, "that's what the maid said, so we have to believe her." Well then your maid is dishonest.

A week after checking out I noticed an extra $30 charge in my credit card from them. When I called I was told it was because we took all the blankets and pillows from the room. Um, no, we did not, gross. Our room was directly across from the office, they watched us leave and the maids went in there as we were leaving. Shady, shady, shady. Don;t risk your credit card # here.

I do feel sorry for the hotel owners along lower Ocean Ave. There are way too many bums/drug addicts hanging around looking dirty and sleezy. I don;t plan on staying over night during the Santa Cruz jazz festival again. I don't like the way all the motels raise the prices by 30-50 per night. Worse than that. all the local creeps on the streets. No thanks, I will just go for one day. I have been going for both days for five years, but since the Santa Cruz police condone all the drug use and... Read more

For your own safety do not stay at this hotel. First the hotel desk attendant spoke broken English, there was mold in the room, the carpets where filthy, the bathroom tub was shedding it's paint. It was just a gross hotel room. But honestly we could have lived through it for one night. What was unacceptable was the slum in which the inn shares a parking lot. There were transients outside all night. There where men with flashlight going through unlocked cars and truck beds. My husband was a... Read more

We got this room last minute. It was good for the night. The room was a bit outdated but it was clean. We were able to get a good night sleep. It offered continental breakfast which was a plus. I would recommend this hotel for a few nights. Thanks for the good hospitality.

This the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. Peeling paint, dingy polyester sheets, terrible pillows, moldy ceilings with things stuck to them, unclean bedspreads, absent fire alarms, bad lighting, one tiny window with a torn screen refused to stay open. Key cards that expired for no reason, blocked fire exits, convenient to the crack house next door where the residents sit on the stoop and glare at you all day. This is a room that inspires suicidal thoughts and great despair. Pros: The hot water ... Read more

First the neighborhood felt like the hotel was in a bad part of town that you wouldn't feel safe to be in at night. The pictures from the web site looked entirely different! tiny window looking out over a seedy looking parking lot and another hotel. Tv didn't work. The clock radio didn't work. The sink was out by the beds. No counter space. Small bathroom. The door would hit your legs if you were on the toilet. Dirty carpet!! Chipped paint and the door stopper was rolling around on the floor. Th... Read more

After negotiating the dog droppings in the garden bed, we encountered the man at the desk...completely disinterested. The room was unpleasant....filthy carpet, no table, cramped bathroom, dirty corridors...and the room had an unpleasant musty odour. We quickly left and moved to another hotel. Most disappointing.

The hotel was clean and quiet. It had air conditioning but with the window open it was a perfect temperature without it. The only time people woke us up was around the time to go to work, granted it was the middle of the week. The staff was very helpful in recommending places to see and the beds slept well. Unfortunately, we were too tired to use the pool or hot tub. No view and too far to walk anywhere, but a good place to stay when you need inexpensive accommodations.

I booked this room at the last minute on june 3, 2016. I was celebrating my daughters bday. i had asked for the xtra towels to be in the room at the time of arrival. I asked for xtra pillows blankets and towels the staff acted like i was ask for money from their paycheck. they were rude and smelled. the rooms were moldy. they were selling drugs outside our room windows. After several times asking for the xtras i had asked for they finally brought it i got 1 towel 1 pillow and 1 blanket. mind you... Read more

We thought we were in the twightlight zone. I'd rather walk on dirt than on these carpets. Bathtub was painted a couple of years ago (maybe 10) and the paint was peeling. I'm thinking of calling the health department and the better business Bureau. Wish I had seen reviews first! Thank God we only endured for one night.

I do not recommend this place to anyone. The Inn is surrounded by one room shacks full of meth heads. I was worried the whole time that our car was going to be broken in to. We got the hot tub room and it was so dirty looking I didn't even want to shower in it.

The room was large and tidy but not clean, it had a mouldy smell and the bath tub was peeling paint. The pool amenities were dirty and we avoided it. The stair well and lift were filthy with a sticky hand rail. Breakfast was served in the office and only offered a few pastries, juice and coffee. The room over looked the local crack house with undesirables sitting on the stoop all night doing their thing, we made sure the car had no tempting items in it and we're lucky enough no attempt had been... This place wasn't so bad to stay for a night minus the crappy area and neighboring outside. The bed was comfy, staff was nice and helpful, room was clean. I only rated a 3 star based on the comfy of bed and the nice staff. Other than that, it's better to find else where if you have family, couple date night, liking for vacation, etc. Because it's in a neighborhood with renters out all night and on the corner, which you can see them from the tiny window, it's not so relaxing to stay. Also, the g... Read more
