Roaring Camp Railroads - The 1880s Roaring Camp is one of the best ways to see California`s towering redwoods. Choose from two historic railroad options: either travel on an authentic 19th century steam train through the Big Trees to the summit of Bear Mountain or ride an early 1900 vintage Pullman car down a scenic river gorge to the beach at Santa Cruz. Located in the redwood forested Santa Cruz Mountains, the city of Felton is only 4 miles from the hotel.

Mystery Spot - Discovered in 1939, the Mystery Spot continues to amaze visitors as their perceptions of the laws of physics and gravity are questioned. See what all the talk is about and why this place remains such a mystery.

Big Basin Redwoods State Park - Visit over 18,000 acres of ancient coast redwoods, conifer, oaks, chaparral and riparian habitats at California`s oldest State Park. Pick up a map at park headquarters and explore some of the 80 miles of trails that will take you from sea level to over 2,000 feet in elevation. If you`re lucky, you might get to see some of the native wildlife such as deer, raccoons, coyotes, birds or banana slugs!

Stayed here on a Travelzoo deal and also because they were pet friendly. The hotel is nicely updated. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Not sure how thorough the cleaning staff is since my dog found a plastic wrapper under the bed. Their pet amenities said they would provide a bed, food bowls, etc for pet guests. I specified on my reservation that we were traveling with a pet and nothing of the sort was provided or offered. Not cool since they charge a $50 pet fee. Food in restaurant was fresh ... Read more

I've stayed here for 5 times over the last year for business. The place is beautiful and was recently renovated. Rooms are great. It's a bit pricey though, about 230.00 - 270.00 per night with taxes. Unfortunately, the last 3 visits, the service has been less than satisfactory. Not good housekeeping, no towels, dirty floors and dirty dishes left in the room. Not so friendly or helpful front desk staff and horrible internet. I'm having to use my cell phone hot spot to write this review. I... Read more

As a Hilton gold member this was very disappointing. There were no perks with the exception of a continental breakfast. This was a first. We always have received full breakfast but not here. The staff was wonderful and the hotel very clean. However each night we ended up with fewer and fewer towels. By the end of the second night only a full size bath towel was left. Never experienced that as well.

The new look of the Santa Cruz Hilton lobby is a cross between a lodge and simplistic modern, IMHO. An interesting mix that works. We were there for a short rainy day weekend stay with an off property event, so I did not get to explore the entire hotel. However, the lobby, the hallways, stairways, public space art and artifacts all lent a great welcoming ambiance. The rooms were spacious enough. The baths nice sized with actual room for two people to turn around without colliding. There is only ... Read more

Don't go here. The maids completely skipped our room on the second day. No clean towels, beds unmade, no supplies at all on that day. Then the breakfast. You pay $20 a head and all the food was dried out and cold, only scrapings left over. Better meal at the Best Western for free. After a long day went out to the spa which had been half drained and refilled with cold water. Then it continued to drain after the pool guy left. Couldn't even use it. We had a very poor experience with this hotel during a wedding. Our wedding party was completely split up, I requested room service be delivered but charged to another room, and that a room be cleaned. Each request was incorrect in one way or another. The hotel is conveniently located. The room overlooking the parking lot with a peak of Redwoods was fine. The bed was odd. It was as if they forgot to put the bedspread or coverlet on the bed and the pillows were small hard squares. We were cold and the bed was not comfortable so we were tired and cranky the next day. We visited Santa Cruz for a meeting and really enjoyed the venue. The staff was friendly, the rooms were updated, clean and comfortable. I highly recommend this location. We had breakfast and lunch provided and it was very good and healthy. Parking was the only minor issue. Although plenty if parking it was a bit of a treck from the hotel. Other than a lovely stay and I would definitely return and recommend it to others.

Overall the overnight stay was pleasant. We checked in around 11pm and the receptionist was lovely. The beds where comfortable and overall the room was clean and quiet. The trees all around made for a pleasant, tranquil environment. My only complaint would be that the housekeeping needs to up their game a little. There was a hair in the shower which wasn't ours and the shower head and soap scum on it. A couple of the power points also didn't seem to work. There was a coffee maker in the room wi... Read more

Expensive for what was offered, not enough towels, nor shampoo, pool area was noisy with arriving and departing parties dragging suitcases next to it, did not eat breakfast there because it was too expensive for what was offered, bathtub did not drain well, noisy from other rooms

Good points: close to 17 and can be in Santa Cruz within 10 min. Not so good points: smaller rooms than other Hiltons; expensive; breakfast not included and expensive; weird layout - can't get to 5th or 6th floor from lobby, had to park way up in a lot that had multiple spots taken by a shipping container, and this upper lot served levels 4-6 and there were not enough parking spots up there for those rooms, smoking area is right by the entrance to level 4 and the pool; internet kicks out frequen... We stayed for 5 nights, with our small dog, and had a very comfortable stay. I appreciated being able to have hypoallergenic bedding. The forest view is nice, and it was easy to get to the pet "rest area." We had 2 meals in the small bar area. Tasty drinks and food. We used the laundry facilities - so glad they were available! We will return!

We stayed for 3 nights on a recent trip to the States. First impressions, rooms clean, bed was super comfy and they were generally welcoming upon arrival. Pool was clean and nicely kept. Location is nice and quiet, about a 5 -10 minute drive down to Santa Cruz beach front. The view from our room was a close up of a tree about half a metre from the window which was a shame. The only negatives I have: When we made the reservation we booked a family room to include our 15 month old so upon booking... Read more

This place was a little slice of heaven tucked away off the hwy. I've passed it several times on our trips to Santa Cruz but never stayed here before. By the looks of it I figured the price would be way too high, but to my surprise it wasn't! Room was clean, quiet and nicely laid out. And to top it off they even except dogs. We will definitely be using this place when we do our visits to Santa Cruz.

I was greeted with a warm welcome by the staff of the Hilton Santa Cruz. The hotel was really clean and located at a serene and peaceful part of Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley. I really felt like I was home away from home!

Great place with amazing staff! Clean rooms. Great food. Tucked away in quiet Scotts Valley. Just a short drive to attractions in santa cruz. Easy to find, right off highway 17. Plenty of parking around the hotel. Great cabanas at the pool too!

Stayed here for one night on business; the fourth floor was a handy spot to be becuase you could walk along the hallway to the pool! Nice set up out in the pool area - forest all round, is a pretty setting. Reception staff were really friendly. There is a self service laundry on 3rd floor - need quarters to make the washing machines & dryers work, and to buy detergent. Shower over bath - which is always average, can't fit 2 people in. Room was a good size though. Is a restaurant on site which ... Read more

This hotel, while only 20-odd miles away from Silicon Valley, represents exceptional valley compared to similar properties in the valley, costing only half to a third what other Hilton properties charge during busy times of the year. Although I've stayed here many times in the past, this stay was made exceotional by front desk receptionist Sarah's handling of my check-in. I asked for a quiet room in the main building, one that didn't require using two elevators (hint: don't let them put you on... Read more

Lovely hotel. Location was not quite as "woodsy" as I hoped, but it was still a pretty area and it was easy to get to. Attractive, comfortable rooms. Very nice staff! Buffet breakfast (extra cost) was great!

We were lucky to be there for Restaurant Week and the food was wonderful. Our waiter, Zach, was extremely gracious, especially when providing an alternative to the yummy-sounding cobbler they ran out of when it was time for dessert.

Been 2 years since last stay at this motel, but let me say what a beautiful new remodeled place. The room was newly furnished and so comfortable, they now have a couch in the rooms, so you can sit and relax, like a chaise lounge instead of having to sit and relax on the bed while watching tv. Everything smelled brand new, even new showers.Spent entire day at Boardwalk Chili Cook off, and to come to a beautiful place like this and open up your door to total relaxation. Will see ya again Hilton, y... Read more
