Loved what has been done to the old "Terrace Court Motel".......All of the restoration and additions are very nice. I would recommend this property to all travelers. The staff was incredible. The rates are "On & Off Season" and are reflective of a 4 star property. Location...Location...Location. Cheers ! Jim Garrity

This Inn has the look of a 1940's roadside motel but everything is brand new and updated. The standard rooms are small but very comfortable. Great attention to detail in the recent renovations. Would have loved to have a coffee maker in the room and the mattresses were not the greatest. The easy access to the boardwalk, wharf and dozens of restaurants is awesome. You can sit in the Adirondack chairs in front of your room and listen to the sea lions bark and the waves crash on the shore. Very re... Read more

I think this is the place to stay on the Santa Cruz beach! It has a nice deck to sit and chill and extremely nice people in the office. Very clean and close to the Boardwalk and pier! A lot of the other hotels that were less expensive, did no have a balcony. For me, that makes spending a bit more money, totally worth it!

From the moment we checked in to when we checked out, the experience was so awesome! The room was bright, airy and beachy feeling! The staff at check in were nice, informative and had great personalities. Offered us fresh made popcorn while they explained where things were. Like the free coffee bar in the morning, which they would deliver to your room in the morning! Comfy chairs were provided so you could enjoy the beautiful view on the deck overlooking the beach. Nice place to sit and enjoy a ... Read more

If you are an international traveler and want to experience funky 50's/60's America, stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean, it's near the old fashion pier and beach arcade, the staff are very friendly and attentive - the whole experience is a nice one. A lot of concrete and birds that will try to steal bits of your hair for their nest but that just adds to the charm. My wife and I are very pleased with our stay. Not five stars simply because it's not a five star hotel. Not surprised that it's ... Read more

This hotel is in a great location as many reviews note. We had a suite so had a shared balcony with a view of the ocean - and the parking lot, street and round about. The suite we had was gorgeous and huge - but had no coffee maker, iron, ironing board or hairdryer. I honestly cannot remember the last time I had a hotel room without a hair dryer but I think it was sometime in the 80s. And not having a coffeemaker was a big disappointment. As much as I liked the location, I wouldn't stay here aga... Read more

Really enjoyed one night here on a drive down the coast, perfect location literally across from the beach, went for a run along the beach early morning as the sun rose, ate lovely food at the pier a short walk away, sat on the terrace at our room, tried the pool, friendly staff, great 'beachy' vibe in the room, very clean and everything we needed... love it.

When we arrived, we had originally booked the 2 bedroom cabana suite. Once we realized we didn't have a view from the room, we went to the office and asked if we could change to a room with a view. Ask and you shall receive..these guys will go above and beyond to make you happy. We switched to a beach house suite and it met all of our needs. The place was spotless-very clean! The suite had plenty of room, a beautiful shower, and we could hear the waves from the outdoor patio. Loved walking down ... Read more

The hotel is cute. I liked the look and feel, with a few maintenance issues, the shower drain was clogged, the air conditioner filter needs serious cleaning (accidentally found this out) and, pet peeve--- we arrived late in the evening and wanted to purchase some bottled water, you can't. Unless the pool area is open, since that is their only drink selection and location. In the morning I went outside to purchase my $2.00 bottle of water, fine, I received the first one but the second bottle came... Read more

We had a great stay here. The staff was very accommodating, the room was clean, comfortable, and "beachy". The quality wood laminate floor was a great way for the staff to keep the sand cleaned up, and the bathroom was a lot nicer than expected. We stayed in a pool view room, and it was fine. I imagine the view from the terrace of the sea view rooms has to be outstanding.

I made a reservation to stay here, thinking I made the reservation for the following week. Unfortunately I had accidentally made the reservation for the current week. I realized this 2 hours after booking. I immediately called the hotel explaining my mistake and asked if I could change my reservation for the following week. I had made my reservation on Expedia. My wife and I made a last minute reservation here and it was the best stay at the boardwalk we've had. We got a great deal for a great room with great views which added up to an overall great experience. As soon as we walked in the room it felt like we were at the beach boardwalk and not just some hotel room close to the boardwalk. The room was decorated nice and bright with beach themed décor and a personal touch. The bathroom was very clean and had double shower heads which was a nice surp... Read more

This hotel had very nice rooms, with a fresh beach theme. There was a nice kitchenette with a sink, microwave, and a fridge. The shower was huge and the view of the beach was great! Only complaint was price ($340) but the great view of the boardwalk might make up for that.

My family stayed here with my 3 young nieces & we enjoyed every minute of it. The room's are clean, new & beautiful. It's a wonderful place to stay with children. It's right across the street from the beach, wharf, restaurants, museum & the Boardwalk. The pool area is really nice. You can see all of the action of the area but it is very quiet and well kept. I highly recommend this Inn!!!

Great Stay, Great Location, Great Experience. Rooms are charming and clean. Beds are comfortable. And in close Proximity to almost anything you would want to do in Santa Cruz. Parking was excellent. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Wish more motels were like Beach Street Inn and Suites - a good study in how to do it right.

We visit Santa Cruz frequently, and have tried almost all of the beach-front lodging. This gem is our favourite and we don't stay anywhere else now that we found Beach Street. We love the spacious balcony where we can sip some wine and watch the glorious sunset, hear the sea lions, and just watch the "beach-life" unfold at the end of the day. On this last visit, there was a weird door in the room, and the manager immediately switched us to another room - no questioning, no stalling, just ... Read more

We happened upon a last minute booking in February during unseasonably warm weather. The hotel was not completely full and we enjoyed our time on the uncrowned shared terrace, where we had a lovely ocean view. We thought, hey we should come back in the summer. Ok, I will admit we didn't think this through. But here we are on a Friday night in July and the rooms on either side of us have parties going on the shared terrace. I have been vacationing in Santa Cruz since the days my parents first brought me here as a toddler. Over the years, I've stayed in many hotels and motels, but we never stayed at what had been the Terrace Court Motel on this site. Only complaint is no AAA or AARP discount & not even a continental breakfast. This is our third or forth time here and usually enjoy it very much but this time I wasn't happy that the floor was super dirty. My one year old had black feet and my older daughter's socks were dirty. I just took a shower and my feet were dirty. We just checked in so the floors should have been clean. I told the front desk and they said that they would make sure they got clean but I don't think they were mopped just sweeped so not that good.

No better location if you want to be able to walk easily to the beach, pier, and Boardwalk. The beach house suites are clean, spacious, cheerful, modern, with most of the amenities you might want. The Beach Street Inn was so perfect for us! Quite, beautiful rooms and an incredible location with a spectacular view! The staff were very accommodating and did not hesitate to find a room that was most suitable for my mum who has had two knee operations (I took the tip off a previous review).
